The Future Soon 

Still watching this in 2024. I guess it's the future now.

14 years later and this song still speaks to me on a spiritual level.

You know a song is a banger when the whole thing is the most replayed

I remember waiting in the cold for the bus during my freshmen year in college and watching this video for the first time. I’m about to turn 30 and just remembered this song while waiting for my bus to work. I should get a car.

BlizzCon was a dream. Everyone was super-supportive of my videos, and it was a ton of fun.

This generation is getting old now, its already 7-8 years ago. I can remember it so vividly like yesterday, logging in at 6 oclock in the morning just because you cant sleep, thinking of wow. Sigh Wow had brought me happiness and sadness, stil I will never regret the time I spent there.

Holy shit Wow is old, the funny part is it's still the most popular MMORPG. Warcraft will always have a special place in my heart.

when i was in middle school i used to listen to this song over and over again as a kid. I was gay and i got bullied and i felt so alone and i had no friends i would just sit at home playing WoW and listening to music all day when i wasn't at school. i just wanted to grow up so fast, to meet someone else like me and fall in love or make new friends or whatever. That was like 8 years ago. Now im an adult, im on the path to becoming a successful glassblower, im engaged to an amazing boy, and im surrounded by amazing friends. I wish i could go back and give that middle schooler a hug and tell him everything would work out amazing in the end. Childhood is precious, if there are any kids out there reading this; it's gonna get better i promise. EDIT: almost 10 years after i wrote this comment, the future continues to arrive! so much has changed, and i just get happier. Don't stop moving y'all - your future is coming soon!

Watching these 10 years later and just realizing how much talent made these videos. Spiff and Jonathan both blow me away. The storytelling on both sides just compliment each other perfectly. These are official music videos as far as I'm concerned lol.

That line "Or is it" Gets me everytime, even when I'm just listening to the song, I don't even need he video.

I think this song perfectly captures of the darker parts of nerd cutlure one that because we're underdogs were somehow entitled to have people like us, and that when we're picked on we're always told that our lives will be better in the future

The saddest part of this song is the irony, his life sucks because he's an outcast and all he has are his fantasies, which he knows are just fantasies (because they are so ridiculous) but it is all that he has. His refuge becomes his prison and the only way he can escape is by burrowing deeper and deeper into the ground, away from the world and then to nestle in the cocoon of his own imagination. Reminds me of the Simon and Garfunkel song "I am a Rock".

God I miss this guy's movies.

So many good memories of grinding through silverpine and hillsbrad into arathi highlands to JoCo’s songs. Big love to spiffworld for showing me Jonathan Coulton.

I can't even express the feeling listening to these songs gives me. I think it's mostly sadness that ill never be a kid any more, constantly amazed by the best parts of wow. The feeling when you log in for the first time, listening to this song. Its just...... perfect. :) Memories of wow are the best memories, and I speak for all of us when I say I hope Legion is fucking amazing.

I also have watched these videos a ton throughout the years and realized I should definitely thank you for making them (: Much awesomeness!!

This story describes me perfectly during school. I left, went to university and now my life is pretty awesome. I was a shut in for the first 20 years of my life. Life really turns round once you get out of school

I used to listen to this on the first days of playing WoW and it brings back awesome memories.

Wow...this song sure got me through some tough times... Seriously, It's amazing to look back at how far one has gotten in almost 8 years. Still haven't created a robot army yet though...Oh well, maybe that will be my goal for 2023?

I've played wow since I was 13 years old, I'm 20 almost 21 now and have a wonderful wife and a good job. Don't stop planning, believing, and working hard when you get to that point and you will be alright.
