The "camera quality issue" is because you weren't using the actual camera app, you were using snapshot. For some reason snapchat lowers the resolution/ quality of the camera. It does it for both iPhone n Samsung

@valismind
@valismind Год назад
I know that. That's my point. It's taking a screenshot of the camera-app, which in turn, ruins the image. You're just reiterating my point, however there are many apps where the resulting image is unusable. And the reason you just simply CAN NOT take the photos/ videos in the camera app vs. the social media apps is because RU-vid Shorts wont let you add multiple clips. So you cannot start/ stop the recording and remove/ trim segments in app. And for apps like SnapChat, the whole point of the app is to take the photo within the camera app. It would be stupid, inconvenient, and a HUGE waste of time to circumvent this just to get a better looking image.

I didn't think a phone experience could be better than my Z Flip 4 until I got my 23 Ultra. This thing is incredible. I'm astounded at how long I can use it heavily without my battery taking a hit or the phone getting warm. And when I do plug it in for a few minutes I'll check back and it's nearly fully already. Hopefully updates fix the small issues such as the blurry photos but overall it's leagues above every other smartphone I've ever used. Personally I don't have any of these issues. On the rare occasions I share images on social media, it's from the gallery anyway, to keep as much quality as possible. But I understand why it could be a let down for some. And the so called shutter lag has never bothered me with any phone I've used. Maybe a couple of times, but on such rare occasions, I can't even remember them. If something is moving that fast, I won't get a nice framed shot anyway, so I don't even try if my subject can't stay still for 2 seconds.

Totally understood need more people like you being honest. These sponsored kids started to forget why the hell they're reviewing smartphones. Honesty is very very rare. Android phones always has that stutter, lag, delay problem. The worst thing is, always and always it comes from SAMSUNG gadgets. Huawei or Xiaomi or Vivo or OPPO performs better. Androids besides SAMSUNG has almost no delay problem and the quality is very good for an Old Huawei Nova as an example. I believe SAMSUNG gadgets won't last long because of the developer being lustful, rushing on getting new techs, new features. My friend got a S10 newer, way more expensive than my Huawei but it delays the same or worst than mine. Why is that happening? Why is that happening? It is a flagship phone bro. Paying tones of money only to get hella laggy, delays after 4 years from release date?? Not even 5 years. My huawei has been 5 years, it performs the same as that S10 except for gaming. Is it worth it?? That s10 stuttered worst than a man with parkinson disease bro. I always get this nightmare, buying s23 ultra only to get laggy,stutter after less than 5 years LOL. Quality control is a crucial aspect. We love development, we loves new things. But rushing on something and can't even make it performs perfectly in 80% of the time is a scam, wasting money and time, wasting the hype. I think the yt reviewers should talk about LONGEVITY. 90% of the consumers buy the smartphones as an investment unlike these sponsored kids use for few months or even days for the sake of reviewing the features only. It is very very saddening to see people got scammed by SAMSUNG. Their phones got way slower than a mid range of other android brands after 3 years. Flagship on Samsung only last for few months. So think wisely before you buy gadgets from this greedy for new features (which you won't be using most of the time) brand. Yes Iphone is overpriced as well, but it performs well, it last longer. There's reason why people hates android so much. Androids especially SAMSUNG gave them trauma from the lags, delays, stuttering parkinson on their so called flagsh1t. Don't waste money just because of the sweet words given by sponsored youtubers. The phones they have will be returned back or kept in the drawers as a review collection. At the end of the day, IPHONE AS THE MAIN PHONE AND SAMSUNG AS THE 2ND PHONE. Trust me the rich people I knew did this. And 3RD PHONE IS IPHONE WITH 2 VERSION OLDER. Don't ever touch mid range samsung unless you wanna kill yourself with parkinson view on your screen a few months later

Shutter lag and blurred photos are not the norm. Get a Pixel and see what you are missing. Clear photos of moving objects. Its real with other phones just not with sluggo S23. 200MP is for sales they never thought of the lag it induces. Same thing with video games on a computer. Play at 1080P at 120 fps or play at 4k slide show. Its 2023 and shutter lag is back? Crazy.

@Physics072

My guess its a processing issue. Lets say they put in a 50,000 MP sensor not the 200MP. It might be so laggy that you could never get a photo unless the subject did not move for 10 seconds. Higher MP = more processing = More lag. Im guessing the lag is 200MP mode. Just don't use that mode its too much processing. Old film cameras were instant vs this trash. Just say no to shutter lag.

Watching videos on RU-vid and Netflix, the color banding is really visible. I watched the extended version of No Way Home and there's a lot of color banding plus the natural skin tone of Peter and Dr. Strange in their dim-lighted scene made them look like acrylic paintings. Is that normal? A limit of the 8-bit panel that they used here instead of the 10-bit and the lack of a wide color gamut? Or is my display actually defective? 😅

Have iphone 14 pro max, bought s 23 ultra as everyone on RU-vid was praising this phone saying this is the best phone!. Is it bad? No? Is this an iPhone killer? No. Is it the best phone? No. Phone is quick and power mighty wise but inconsistent. Have a feeling all those youtubers must be paid to say only good things about samsung and people below those videos are blind samsung followers. Have both phones in my hand since 14 days IP 14 pro max and S 23 ultra so can see differences in live case scenarios. Ok, so speedy and smooth s23 ultra feeling. Hmm not always as said it is inco nsistent. Make messenger video call and minimise messenger so you can only see camera, meanwhile run and close apps like browser, FB etc - animations stutter, no longer smooth. Photos? Camera killer? It is a joke. This phone cannot make decent photo in the kitchen with lights on, what you can see easily if you make a pic of person and see their hands for example. Samsung either blures hands or tries to sharpen some part of the picture. In same scenario iphone makes more natural pictures. Night photos? Zoom? It is another joke. Maybe if you do static pic from tripod but in life case scenario you want do normal photo at night is if quite bad when iphone makes better pics out of the pocket without tweeking anything. Operating system has 62GB! And my android account is fresh new without any apps I created fresh account. This is unacceptable. Keyboard feels like there is a small delay and more often I make mistakes on s 23 ultra especially on RU-vid comments it feels like response time is really bad. That's the things you will notice on daily basis and not like on youtube channels showing only how pic are great 😅 This is not a bad phone but optimization is nowhere near to iphone even if samsung has powerfull specs. Worth to mention is security. How is this possible that I go to samsung menu and go to themes and go to download one. Me thinking, OK this is inside the phone Samsung must have power over this and I will connect to Samsung server to safe fully download new theme. I was surprised when I wanted to download one and below rating and people comments were saying it is a virus! How samsung can let this crap on their own inside system? I am not talking about Google store but actual samsung menu! It is scarry!

Well... cost samsung like $20 to build... plus development and advertizing... so around $50 in maximum possible cost per phone. They sell to their retail stores like bestbuy the phone for around $100. So these phones are actually extremely cheap. Gorilla glass techs and Sapphire aren't that advanced, especially when metamaterials are a thing. Here is the deal, Apple figured out how to turn their phones into $1,100 of pure profit and that's what Samsung did too. These phones and computers and pretty much all commercially available tech is made with the absolute cheap of the cheap. Hints why after buying a z fold 4 and a s23 ultra, I'm here trying to figure out why my $3,300 in phones are glitching, crashing, and such. All tech is shit quality.

These are some good points ! Shutter lag is the main issue of whole phone, not only camera. It's been on Samsung phones for years now and it makes taking a picture of anything that's moving - almost impossible. If you don't like blurry, unusable mess, of course. In the same conditions, my prehistoric Iphone 6 makes better shots. I really don't get why Samsung keeps ignoring this problem. Moon pics are cool, 200 mpix also, but shutter lag shouldn't be there on flagship device. Camera software just isn't on pair with hardware, and cameras on Samsung phones are still unpredictable. You can take 5 shots of the same subject, in the same conditions, one after another and get 3 different results. I think two flagship lineups a year (S series and Flip/Fold) are just too much...

I'll go in on this one more time: the shutter lag is a REAL problem (as others have mentioned). Moving subjects are darn near IMPOSSIBLE to get clean. I came from Pixel phones and I can tell you they don't have this problem (ever). The iPhone (at least the recent models) also don't suffer from this. This single issue LITERALLY will prevent people from buying the phone. All Samsung needs to do is fix this issue and they'd earn so much respect, it's insane .
@vadimbenes
@vadimbenes Год назад
I've seen a video recently explaining that its not an shutter lag issue (delay of shutter after pressing the shutter button)-that would be just a minor inconvenience (you would still capture the moving object, only with some millisecond delay), but the issue of Samsung (and many other Android phones) tend to use too high ISO by default, leading to the fact that shutter remains opened for longer period and everything even slightly moving js blurred). I have the exact same issue with my Motorola - great phone otherwise, but im literally not able to capture a single good picture of my very active dog. So now im in waiting mode for iphone 15...

Thanks, I was going to trade in my Pixel for the S23 but shutter lag is a show stopper for me. I rarely take a bad photo with my pixel they are not blurred. I had a digital camera with higher rez but horrible shutter lag where you could never get a clear photo. If the megapixels are so high you can't process the photo in a timely manner its not worth it. Give me a fast 8MP with optical zoom over a 200MP sluggo lag fest any day and twice on sundays.
@JustinHall1976
@JustinHall1976 Год назад
@@vadimbenes I'm aware of that fix, but that's actually not the issue. It's hard to explain the problem, but if you use a Pixel for photos and then a Samsung phone, it's noticeable right away. Samsung does so many things well, I'm willing to deal with the camera app problems, but I'm telling you: if you come from a Pixel it's jarring. Close up focus is an issue too. Nothing is ever in focus fully. Ever. The macro mode is great, but if that doesn't activate, close up photos suck too. It's a MAJOR issue that many just don't fully understand. So major, in fact, I can't move my wife from a Pixel. The entire camera experience is a step down.

@@Physics072 you'd notice the issue immediately, believe me. I like Samsung phones. Enough for ME to switch from a Pixel, but I can't recommend that to most people unless they really don't take photos. I have a problem with the galaxy S23 Ultra and it is that every time I go to play the WiFi fails as the phone does not recognize it and it stays loading most of the time when I am in a game and it only happens with games, any solution? I already took it under warranty but they couldn't fix it. I restarted the phone, I factory reset it, uninstalled and installed the games again but the error continues

I hate that Samsung gimps the base model of the Ultra. They should've had 12 gigs of RAM on the 256GB phone. If they would've, I wouldn't have had any problems buying it.

Sir, if you don't like the squared design of the Ultra, get an S23 or S23 Plus. I personally think the squared design looks so elegant. For screen protectors, the Samsung official screen protector is the best. Very clear, glass like, and protective.

Great Video @ValisMind. I switch from an Iphone 13 pro max and after 1 month I still have mixed feelings about it. From one side I love the screen but in other end the phone experience is not has consistent as the Iphone... Some occasional software lags, apps closing on the background and bank apps with some strange behaviour... I'm still considering to go back to my iPhone, not has stunning but it always work...

The camera will never look good in third party apps on Android... This is because all of the camera API fragmentation and all the mess on Android. Those apps are just making screenshots of the video preview. It's muuuch-much more easier that way for the devs. They do not open the actual cameras and do not need to deal with bugs for each device out there. Only samsung is pushing like 50 different models per year, all of those with different chipsets and cameras. Imagine having to deal with the API's of each android manufacturer... By the way, the same is the reason why there are so many Bluetooth and Audio issues on Android. One app may work fine on one device, but completely messed up on another. As for the shutter lag, this massive 200Mpx sensor requires tons of processing power, keep in mind that the iPhones cannot even open 200Mpix photos and you'll see only black image there. I would suggest that you just swallow this up and take it as it is.

Just curious here, did you have a hard time converting your Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra over from the iPhone 14PM? I ask cuz everything that I do seems to take for ever to complete the most basic task on my new Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. I used a cable to make the switch over which by all accounts one would think that that would be VERY easy but it wasnt...what was your experience? and btw, I am a nerd and know what I'm doing :)

I see a lot of people here don't know how smartphone cameras can be good straight from the box. A perfect example is Huawei P30 Pro back in the day, 5 yrs ago, I was in Europe and bought P30 Pro, and I was blown away how good the cameras are, no matter what indor, low light...regular sunny day, I don't want to spend words for that because it's perfect condition for taking pictures. The battery was very good, and fast charging was amazing. After Huawei, I got OPPO find x2 pro. From the box cameras were not that good, but after the software update, it was amazing and still is because I still have it. I'm using S23U year and a half, and it was ok, but it's nowhere near compared to the price. 200mp camera, yeah right, just on paper, you just don't have benefit from that 200mp sensor, probably because it's not optimized good. Indoor and low light is a joke. I liked how phone looks and a pen, but I found it not using the pen so often. So, it's definitely not worth the money, and I will wait probably next year to switch to something less expensive and stay away from Samsung for sure.
@SayWhat21

If you compare the S23 Ultra and the Pixel 7 Pro's indoor shots, the S23 Ultra is way worse With moving subjects like my dogs playing the Pixel 7 Pro is also quite a bit sharper because of the slow shutter speed on the S23U which is really bad. In manual mode it's not much better. The video and the zoom are the only things better on the S23 Ultra's camera.

You're SO UPSET about the phone from a hardware/design standpoint that I wonder why you purchased one in the first place. I mean it's one thing to be let down by buggy software or bad optimization because you can't possibly know about a software issue from day one. But you must've seen the phone in official and press photos. You must've known about the place of buttons or even read about how Samsung reduced the side curves, right? And you can't really say you had no idea how it'd feel in the hand because it's almost an exact copy of the S22 Ultra which has been in Samsung stores for a year. Bottom-line: you should've known it all about the phone's hardware design.

Another Problem: I got notifications from outlook for spam mails. That never happened to me on my last phone. I also don't like the video quality when I use the app "open camera" to record videos. That was the best app for video recording for me. Do you have any tips for me how I can fix these problems?

As a truck driver i have to disagree. This is the perfect phone for scanning documents and taking pictures of accidents. As well as taking videos of beautiful environments. Then i can have two GPS systems running simultaneously without a hitch (possibly with a dash cam app if i can find one) and never have to worry about buying a trucker gps. Any important numbers i need to jot down is literally just an s pen away. Any time i need a more desktop experience i just plug my phone into a portable monitor and boom full on laptop. I never thought a phone would ever be this versatile. I can now talk to people on the phone with it connected to the truck's Bluetooth and people can actually hear me!!! (Not the case for my iPhone 14 pro max i had before). Finally, the battery literally last me all day like i feel confident letting my gps run a full 11 hour shift with no charger ( i still charge it either way just in case )

On the screen protector subject. I'm still rocking the s21 ultra mainly due to the stupid prices of the new ones. Anyways so personally the screen protectors for the s21 ultra are roughly $20. I thought that was stupid and so I said no thank you. One week later my son threw my phone and basically demolished my screen. To repair it, it cost me $380. So believe me when I say $20-100 I'll gladly pay so long as it protects my screen now. S21 ultra is expensive to replace the screen. I don't even want to know how much the s23 ultra screen costs to replace.

I have a Note 10+ having 6.8 inch display with 45 watt fast charging, S-pen that works as a WiFi device. It comes with OSD and so many features it would take a bite out of an Apple without skipping a beat. It offers most of what the S23 offers.I don't see a big difference between these two phones. My phone is Larger than the latest than the iPhone 14 Pro Max. I have amazed so many iPhone users, and my phone is a 2019 model. Again Samsung tech embarrasses the latest iPhones that Apple brings to the market.
