I recorded "Gonna Get Me Someone" with these lads in 1966, did RSG, Juke box jury, played the Marquee. With them for about 18 months before they broke up....
Unbelievable!!!! My Dad was the drummer in this band!! I can verify that they we're from Mitcham (dad is actually from Tooting but thats splitting hairs) The lead singer was 14 years old and the bass was the oldest at the ripe old age of 18 haha.If you want any more info let me know?
flatop47 Well i'm not sure about the rest of the guys but my Dad hasn't played with them since the 60's,i think they tried to reform about 10-15 years ago!! My Dad carried on playing in bands for about 10 more years then had a break….for 20 years!! He's back playing now and loving it!!!
Hi, You've got some of the greatest obscure records! The Game, from Mitcham, Surrey, had a connection to Cockney entertainer Kenny Lynch who co-wrote "But I Do." I did research on Lynch for my book on Amicus Horrors, because he appeared in their picture "Dr. Terror's House of Horrors." After disappointing sales on this 1965 Pye release, The Game switched to Decca and released "Gonna Get Me Someone" in 1966but it also failed to score, as did two Parlophone releases in '67. My other half's dad worked with Alan(Allen) Janaway's dad Tommy at the Shell and BP depot in Wandsworth. Her dad bought a copy of the single which she's still got somewhere; she also remembers when Addicted Man was played on Juke Box Jury, but was given a miss because they didn't think it would do well because it mentioned drugs.
