I found something amazing in a local charity shop here in the UK last Saturday. I stumbled upon a SNES in a carry case complete with 2 controllers and 6 games unboxed. The games were - Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past - Super Mario World - Street Fighter II - Super Mario Kart - Dragon's Lair - Joe & Mac Caveman Ninja. I wasn't going to pass up that opportunity, I had never owned a SNES before. I had always wanted to get one. I would've been stupid not to go for it. I got the bundle for 60 pounds.
Game chasing is, to pull from Forrest Gump, like a box of chocolates: You never know what you're going to get. Sometimes you'll find cool stuff, other times you'll find scraps, and there are times when you don't find a damned thing. But chasing is more than what you find. It's more than the result. It's the sense of adventure. It's the act of the hunt. And, oftentimes, it's as much about the who and where as the why and what. Going with friends provides a much more memorable experience; it makes the long drives shorter and makes the droll more exciting. It's great to see videos like this one which remind us that not every game chasing trip is going to end up a winner in terms of what's out there-- but they can be rewarding all the same.
This was a nice surprise. 18 mins, this is basically an entire bonus normal episode lol. Too bad Billy bitched out and missed out on the shenanigans :p
omg they really put an ebay value on something they got donated for free? Just to make you feel like the price they give is good? F them thrift stores..
Scottsquatch is smart for digging behind and under game shelves at thrift stores especially at Goodwill, chances are your going to find some buried treasure that was long forgotten as they hardly ever clean them out, especially at my local store. I recently found myself Rogue Squadron, Star Wars Racer, Sonic 2, and Mortal Kombat doing this, and since the tags were dated in 2012 no longer in system, the manager let me have it all for $10 just to get rid of it which is a good deal in my opinion.
This is why you go game chasing by yourself. As much as it's friendly when you're with your friends.... you know you'll kick your buddy in the nuts if you need to to grab a game.
All my favorite people in the same place? Sweet! Poor Billy though. He was probably eating cheetos with his feet up and playing his wall of awesome sauce lol.
I always get so jealous of you guys I don't have any friends like what games like I do so I'm kind of alone game collector going game chasing kind of sucks whether I find step or not it's just not the same without a buddy to do it with. So treasure those moments guys
Eric W GREAT IDEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For us English guys.... "holding out on someone" > to refuse to give help, information, or something of value to someone "caught slippin" > to be caught off guard, in a very bad way. .... yes we have to google this stuff haha 😂😂 We also call each other 'fat but small penises' now also... you know what that is 😉
Lol nice to hear from you Grimsie42 and glad you liked it! By the way I love your pick up vids, a real inspiration for me as a retro collector/ youtuber!
SUCH GOOD EDITING TOO WELL DONE MEL oh shit caps oh well haha another great episode! all the way to the last few seconds, nice tribute too =] haha so close to the donkey kong too.
There are a number of game stores here in the Knoxville, TN area....Replay Games, Game Haven, Level Up Games, Packard's plus a number of Thrift Stores..(then there are a couple more stores like GameStop and CM Games but they suck).....it would be awesome of all of you guys came to Knoxville to go game chasing, i'm sure you could find something rare (hell, last time I was in the used bookstore I found a few Fairchild Channel F games and a IGS PGM cartridge)
Oh fuck, might as well mention my find today. Went to the local thrift shop, they never have shit because Seattle sucks for game chasing, BUT years of sifting through tangled AV cables paid off because I walked out of there with a Gamecube composite cable for .50 Not a game, but definitely a decent find. And now I can stop digging through boxes of shitty cables!
I see more and more of the crap that Alpha is talking about at 11:14 all the time at thrift stores. I found a boxed Odyssey 2 at a local thrift store recently, and it had a note on it that said, "Sells for over $150 on Ebay!" Uh..no it doesn't.
