Honestly, what were they thinking? Why not release a Game Gear sized device with a rechargeable battery, and EVERY SEGA IP built in, with HDMI out. $80 sell like hot cakes.

I wonder if all the games are "in there". The Tiny Arcades have one game shown but if you jumper across different resistors different games get activated.

Playing tethered to you house is a pretty authentic experience for a Game Gear since the original ate something like 6 AAs in around 2 hours.

I think if the Game Gear Micros were just a little larger they would be a much better collectors item. The screen actually looks a little better than it did back when.

It's way too small to be of any use let's be honest!

I really wanted the micro to have an intonation release, but it was a Japanese exclusive. It’s neat in my opinion, but has a few flaws.

I get the feeling SEGA did this so that the Game Gear Micro wasn't actually a handheld because if they made a legitimate handheld they might have issues with Nintendo (or Sony) and licensing their games to them in a 3rd party format.

It's sad that my petition to get Sega to improve the Game Gear Micro bombed with only 20 votes. The improvements I would have liked to see to the GGM are as follows: 1. A bigger size. It doesn't have to be as big as the original Game Gear, but still big enough so that it's easier to hold and see what goes on in the game. 2. More built-in games. Each GGM has only four built-in games. Sega compilations that were released in the GameCube era such as Sonic Adventure DX, Sonic Mega Collection Plus and Sonic Gems Collection have at least six. Even AtGames, who are notorious for their low-quality Sega consoles and handhelds have more Game Gear games built in to their Master System and Game Gear handheld, as well as their 2017 Sega Genesis Flashback console. 3. A cartridge slot with which to play additional games directly from their cartridges, especially if they're third-party games like The Lion King or Ren and Stimpy: Quest for the Shaven Yak. Once again, that's something that even AtGames was able to get right with their Sega Genesis consoles. 4. AV support so you can play Game Gear games on your television screen. Once again, even AtGames got that right by having an AV output on their handheld consoles.

It's a 1.1" screen for those wondering.

I like the packaging. I would display the units next to their box's on a my gaming shelf.

I see this as a competitor, substitute or inspired by the Game And Watch: Super Mario Bros. Tiny size for a small buisness pocket and waiting line playing sessions (hence the save states), batteries so you don't have to leave it at home charging, you just pop in new batteries whenever you go somewhere, its a cute concept. And when your home you just put the window thing on and have it on display as the collectors item it also is. Oh, and the Analog Pocket will have a cartridge adapter for Game Gear so your wish comes true!

Gimmicks like this are actually a popular thing in Japan, and I believe Sega made it to appeal to that market specifically. That’s a large reason as to why it likely never left Japan, because they didn’t think it’d take off!

This reminds me of the World's Smallest product line. From working Arcade cabinets and Pinball, to remote cars and tiny Magic the Gathering decks. In Japan they have Gachapon machines with micro collectables. I can see why this was quality made, but purposely a gimmick to reach those fan's hearts.

In Japan there are people who collect miniature toy versions of things, toy companies make super realistic looking miniatures and sell them in gashapon vending machines over there, and I'm pretty sure this is meant for those people. It's not meant to be played on, although it technically can be played on which is the whole gimmick.

I would genuinely like and play this.

I don't mind AAA batteries since it means it's not going to have battery expanding/leaking issues years later. It's like Playstation controllers, when that battery gets worn out you're forced to disassemble the entire freakin' controller vs just slapping a new set of batteries in something like the 8BitDo SN30Pro+ or XB1 controller. Batteries run flat? Slap in a new rechargeable pair vs being tethered to the console.

Any chance of seeing you mod this for a rechargable battery?
