Disappointed that the last two seasons were so rushed and badly written, but I still cried when it ended. Especially because of the music and the brilliant actors.
Cersei Lannister: Does everything wrong, lives till the end Ned Stark: Does everything right, dies immediately or adventure begins with multiple, strong sub-plots swirling into a compelling, living storm you have to watch... ends with multiple, emotional outbursts, with logical responses swirling into a drain before dying.
This was not the ending, I paid for! This was not epic nor should the show have never ending as Jon being placed no where when he was the king! Horrible writing here.
So drogon knew that if he blew fire john would have been died. So it blew fire on the throne. 🤔 this statement also supports that drogon is the smartest character in GOT
@@ajithkumarvenkatesan4031 naw Drogon was heart broke over his mom and his love for Jon is what stopped him from killing Jon he burn the throne out of frustration and pain
Bran Stark: Knows everything, does nothing. John Snow: Knows nothing, Does everything. :/ Thanks for all the likes btw you guys are freaken awesome lol! Unlike Season 8 :(
@@abbesatty9498 What did showrunners to his fate is ridiculously disrespectful. You may say 'It's GoT, everyone's fate is tragic and cruel' etc. But this was artifically created piece of shit with zero logic. (Why did he return to the life?, why he was screaming at the dragon?, why did his IQ get lower?, why it was revealed that Jon is Targaryen and rightful heir to the iron throne?, why he was sent to the night's watch if there is not any danger beyond the wall?)
@@70mjc I don't think someone contested it, but the ending they did it's not that professional. I mean, I can't call this the best series because of it's end and i think you can be a great producer, a good screenwriter, it's all useless if you can find a good ending. At their level they should be ashamed.
Man, I interpreted Drogon burning the throne much differently. He was clearly livid at Jon, but couldn’t bring himself to kill a Targaryen. I figured that melting the throne was his way of giving Jon the middle finger. If she can’t have it, no one will.
Exacly. What exacly did they "explain"? We saw this... it was straightforward, awfully predictable and silly to the point that i wanted it to end already.
Senna Emilski again a stupid decision by Tyrion u put the guy who spends most of his money on hookers and liquor in charge of the finances for the kingdom.
Jon killing Daenerys didn't really remind me of Ned, it reminded me of Jaime. The Mad King was someone who had turned mad and wanted to burn thousands of people alive until Jaime (who had sworn to be loyal to him before) killed him right in front of the Iron Throne. And he had done this only to save all those people because he had felt more loyal to them than to his king. It's the same with Jon.
Killing the Night King and the whole army of the dead in 1 episode was a huge mistake. He was obviously an incredibly powerful being and I think there should have been more to it than that.
The only emotional response I got from the episode is when Arya and Jon said their good byes. Maisie Williams sold it well with her expressions. But yes, all in all, the episode did nothing for me.
I only felt sad and curious when Drogon picks Danaerrys Corpse and leaves KL. Other than that I skipped most of the Bullshit talk that episode had and skipped the ending too.
Simple explanation: D&D were hired by Disney to make Star Wars. So they stopped caring and just finished the show as fast and shitty as they could. The Night King should have taken a season to defeat, not a single battle. Then they teleported to Kings landing and defeated them in one battle. Yeah, fuck those guys, I'm not watching another of their shows.
Actually.... The Starks have ruled as the Kings of Winter from Winterfell for thousands of years, long before Aegon’s Conquest of Westeros. They became Lord Paramount of the North after King Torrhen bent the knee to the Targaryens. During the War of the Five Kings, Robb Stark became the first King in the North in centuries, but not the first ever. In the aftermath of the Battle of the Bastards, Jon Snow was named King in the North. After the death of Daenerys Targaryen in her Conquest of Westeros, and the election of Brandon Stark to become the ruler of Westeros, Sansa Stark, once again declared Northern Independence and was crowned the first Queen in the North.... Or at least that’s what the show says lol
I disagree about Jon's ending. I thought it was clear that Jon was going north of the wall to start a new life with the free folk, Tormund & Ghost. Bran knew the only way to save Jon from Grey Worm & the unsullied, is to present going north as a punishment, a life sentence at the Black to them. Bran also knew what would happen after Jon got there. Jon was escorted there, and upon arrival, he saw the black was full of free folk, Tormund & Ghost waiting for him to lead them out to re-settle their old lands. As Jon rides out, he briefly turns and looks back as the gate closes. one final look at his old life, before continuing into the forest with the free folk to establish a new settlement. Several things are important to note here as well. There is no threat from white walkers or wildlings anymore. Castle Black was now unnecessary & essentially empty, except for the free folk who were clearly just waiting for Jon. When Jon first joined the Night Watch, he held them in high esteem, but quickly learned they were not the most honorable or decent people, and lost much respect for them over his time there. His disenchantment with them was part of why it was possible for him to break his vows with Ygritte while living with them, and why later, he had no problem renouncing the Night Watch and leaving to go retake Winterfell from the Boltons. Plus, I don't believe that Bran ever intended for Jon to actually serve at the Black, but simply used that to try and satisfy Grey Worm's need for justice, and get him free from the unsullied. Now that the unsullied have gone back home, do you honestly think King Bran or Queen Sansa would be anything but happy to know Jon has gone to make a life with the free folk north of the wall? Bran didn't have to lie, yet knew what would happen, and had probably already "seen" it happen as well. The bittersweet is Jon finally gets to be where he was the happiest he's ever been, to live out his days there beyond the wall, yet knowing it will take time to heal from the deep regret of having to kill the woman he loved, even though it was for the good of the realm.
Its Azor Ahai final part of the Prophecy. He would plunge his sword into the Heart of who he loves. After the War with Night King, Azor Ahai disappears into the North never to be seen again.
there are no kings beyond the wall, they are wildlings they bow to no one! don't you remember that's what mance rayer died over, Wildlings bow to no man.
And I love seeing Drogon destroying the throne and not being mad at Jon, it shows the dragons are wise and knows Jon had no choice and to bring peace the only way was to destroy the old ways. Great direction
I risked my crippled body for the greator good of humanity. Now I'm King of Westeros you'll be my hand Tyrion. Next order of business the brothels while I sit down on my iron wheelchair and get down to work and warg into animals
Bran was the mastermind all along. His two lines in the last episode: "why do you think I came here all this way" and "you were exactly where you were supposed to be" are the lines which many failed to understand Bran's genius to get till the throne. He didn't have the legs but he definitely had the brain. That my friends is the GAME OF THRONES.
KING: Yes, he basically got what he wanted. He said in a prior episode that he wished he could be going North with them. He didn't want to throne of the 7 Kingdoms, or any throne really. He and Ghost are free folk /Wildings at heart.
Torrhen Stark, the king who knelt and lost his crown, knelt to Aegon to avoid bloodshed and to keep his people alive. He was the only king who surrendered without attacking Aegon despite the advice of his brother. In the end, the last Aegon (Jon Snow) knelt to a Stark King of the six Kingdoms with Winterfell as an independent Kingdom. The Targaryens came and conquered and caused havoc to Westeros just so he could build that Iron Throne with all their swords and rule them all. Of the seven kingdoms, only the Starks peacefully knelt. Every one else fought the Targaryens which clearly states that they were not welcome. In the books it is implied that the Citadel was against the Targaryens. They were unwelcome foreigners and tyrants in Westeros. A Targaryen and Stark (Jon) gave it back to the people for peace. A Targaryen gave back the Kingdoms to the family of the one who knelt to protect his people. I love that they defied what everyone expected of Jon or Daenerys sitting on the Iron Throne. No struggle can ever justify tyranny. No silver hair and purple eyes and flowery speeches can ever justify tyranny. No interesting character arc can ever justify tyranny. Not even a dragon. No delusional tyrant who has charisma, beauty and dragons should ever destroy your judgment. Everyone is blinded by beauty, speeches, dragons and delusions of destiny. A tyrant is a tyrant no matter how interesting they are. History shows us exactly that. The character arcs of all tyrants in the past have all been a poetic rise from struggle to power. They made a charming tyrant in the show. It was amazing how a cripple with so much capacity and humility was raised to a king. Aegon was literally on his knees. Azor Ahai, the prince that was promised killed his beloved as the prophecy goes not to rule but to save them all. Aegon's last true heir knelt to the heirs of Torrhen Stark. A deep many thanks Game of Thrones, George R.R. Martin and to the producers D&D who brought it to life. ❤ Edit: For those who say Torrhen was not mentioned in the show. D&D did not forget to insert them in the show considering how little flashbacks they show. To prove that they did mention Torrhen Stark in the show and not just in the books, he was mentioned in Seasons 1, 3, 6 and 7 in the episodes: The Field of Fire Robert's Rebelion House Stark The North Northern Allegiances to House Stark Invasion House Stark, Kings of Winter And he was clearly mentioned by everyone's beloved pretty tyrant queen Daenerys: “I could have sworn I read the last King in the North was Torrhen Stark, who bent the knee to my ancestor Aegon Targaryen. In exchange for his life and the lives of the Northmen, Torrhen Stark swore fealty to House Targaryen in perpetuity.” In the book, I clearly remember him in A World of Ice and Fire with the illustration below. I love the message of the broken dynasty and the end of tyranny. Again, my deep thanks Game of Thrones. Now back to real life. Enough geeking
You defend this crap ending. Bran said he cannot become lord of anything and accepted to become king😂 Jon snow was the only one who could unite north south and the wildlings,he was never a tyrant. The lannister 2.0 used him and threw him away like dirt
There’s nothing to elaborate on. It’s exactly what we saw and there’s no need to theorize on it until the books are released. They threw the lore and complexity of it into the trash bin
See, I agree on Jon. There is really no night's watch left. Jon is leaving with Tormund and the wildlings to head to the far north to live out his days. I've heard a lot of people say he was escorting them, but I think it's pretty clear he and Tormund are leading them into their future.
There is a big winner: House Stark symbolized by Sansa and Bran. And there is a big looser: House Targaryen symbolized by Daenerys Targaryen and Aegon Targaryen (Jon Snow) and Drogon the last dragon. And there is a nothing: symbolized by No name (Arya Stark). The biggest loser of all times is the character of Jon Snow. Even his death would have been more honourable.
He is there where he wants. He never played the game of thrones. He loved the north. He fell in live with a wildling. So that's what he wants, get back beyond the wall. What's the problem?
@@majamaja5052 He was "send" to the Nightswatch, but where should he stay? In Kings Landing? I don't think so. In Winterfell? I mean, it's his home but Castle Black and the Wildlings really grown on him. Although he is a "Sand" he belongs to the North.

No he was longing for a woman to love the whole series. And he wanted to have a good name not being called snow any more. He could have all this. Now he ends there where he was in the very beginning and no f*cki** girl will care for that nameless bastard. He is just weak character not being able to stand for himself and his own desires.
yeah if this season was 10 episodes, i think that would be enough time to make a perfect end. episode 3-5 are way too fast paced and the reasoning for some decisions just isnt there.
Yeah, everything needs more time to happen and other things needed to be broken down and explained. We just got a bunch of empty actions, this season ruined GoT’s for me.. It was my all time fav show, it’s now dropped to number 2. (Simply because the first half or so of this series was way too awesome to ignore) It’s too bad that the petition to redo the entire season didn’t pass.
Exactly. It felt rushed and would have made a lot more sense if they could have taken the time to flesh out the things that many people feel didn't make sense. I am ok with the ending, it actually makes sense to me and ties things up. I just wish we'd had more time and story to get there.
@@heavenlymayday the last 2 seasons should have had the normal 10 episodes intead of just 7 and 6. They didn't give Dany proper development to become the Mad Queen, also they should have spent at least 2 episodes fighting the night king. The story they were trying to tell was a good one but how we got to the end was very sloppy, which is a shame.
SIL SIL Sansa, Ayra and Jon can still have kids and the throne is now going to be chosen based off of a council of all the lords to see who is fit to rule after the king dies
@@camrokconstruction4082 why do people hate on thor being fat? it was hilarious and both hemsworth and his writers are sick of Thor being shakespearian, not to mention they came up with the idea together, it wasn't just some ahole being like "hey lets make thor fat for laughs!" it was them wanting to go outside the box and show his character going through a traumatic time which he blamed himself for
I feel utterly betrayed and speechless with how this final season turned out 1. The Lord of the light served no purpose 2. Jon Snow went North of the Wall and his lineage served no purpose 3. Daenerys apparently can't count to 20 as her logical response to burning King's Landing 4. Arya's faceless power served no purpose and sailed off to the west 5. Night King was wasted along with the White Walkers and the marked symbols came to nothing 6. Bran who was crippled and paralysed takes the victory for virtually doing nothing in his iron wheelchair 7. Fans asking for a remake of Season 8 have to go to rehab 8. David Benioff and Weiss have the last laugh and run away
1. The lord of light is the belief of god more than an actual thing with a plan. 2. The wheel is broken and Jon never wanted the throne. 3. You’re just being a salty nitpicker. If you hated the show so much why’d you watch it? The writing style has been the same the whole series and grrm told them then ending they had in mind. He even says his ending won’t me much different from the show. 4. Aryas faceless power was the tool of the assassins. She only uses it when she has to. Sorry she didn’t change into random people for the sake of changing faces 5. Ever heard of a red herring? 6. Bran essentially makes Tyrion king. He is allowing Tyrion to make all the decisions and run the country because he knows he is the best for it. 7. Have fun in rehab 8. Because fans like you who take things at surface value because they aren’t intelligent enough to look into things are becoming online 3 year olds throwing a temper tantrum because the show didn’t turn out how you wanted. It must be so fun being somebody as self absorbed as mad game of thrones fans who have nothing better to do than shit all over something that has given them a decade of conversation, tense moments, wild theories, fun watch parties and more. And this is the thanks they get? I can’t wait for you guys to make something so people all over the world can tell you how you’ve ruined it
@NIRD BIRD You must have considerably low expectations I don't know what to tell you. They have been building to this conclusion for the past 8 years but the inconsistency of some plot holes completely ruined some characters arcs. Some of it was forced and rushed including Daenerys becoming the main villain in just two episodes. Clearly you don't understand cohesive writing and the way it's supposed to be structured together. When everything was crammed in six episodes and the pacing was too fast. Many characters could of been fleshed out more in ten episodes than putting greater emphasis on rushing major plots
I totally agree with you. Ending was the worst I seen. I spent a lot of time fast fowarding episodes. The ending made no sense...giving power to those who didn't do anything, yet punish the savior, not even recognition? Jon was THE KING, he saved plenty, still kill MAD Danny killing innocent children and people. He should be the King. Braun did what to prevent harm? Even The "Evil" Red woman brought Jon to life. I seen other Series who also have bad endings, but this one after 8 seasons is BAD!
kentrix1000 No disappointing writing. He should have been King the way it was written is he was betrayed by all his family except Ayra. Sansa always wanted the North for herself Bran knew everything what was happening they only had to say No! He had every rite to kill the mad Queen even Drogon didn't blame him.
Valerie Norton Whats wrong in wanting North independent , it was always so ,even after Ned Stark...Though Bran being stark could have been its ruler but he had better Job to do
I'm willing to bet money that Jon riding back to the true North with the wildlings is EXACTLY how the books will end as well and that it'll also be the last scene.. Along with Dany's death and Sansa in control of the North at the end state as well. GRRM is heavily inspired by LoTR, and Jon himself is a mix of Frodo and Aragorn. Jon going North with the Wildlings was a not very subtle tribute to Frodo sailing West with the Elves.
I genuinely don’t know why people thought the show went to shit. To be honest, this is one of the most, if not THE most realistic ending given the circumstances
Exactly! I think Hollywood pumped unrealistic endings to maintain the disconnect to actual storylines! If ppl want disney movie outcomes they should stick to disney.
Basically what I learnt is that Drogon is smarter than any of them. Fighting over iron throne? That killed her brothers and mother will then. Imma melt it down.
That's what I got.. From it. And now. Obviously when when brna wargs you can see it in the eyes. Drogon knew that it was danys obsessions with the throne that got her killed. Sure Jon may have stabbed her. But the throne was the reason for it all
Or the dragon was an idiot, and thought a knife and the iron throne are both pointy things. Stop justifying bad writing. most everything happened in the last two seasons because the plot writers demanded it happened. Not because the characters were acting in character. Controlled beasts change eye color. Bran wasn't shown. Hyper intelligent dragons were never established in the show. It happened only because the writers thought it would look cool and poetic. That is the only reason.
Everyone has their own opinion on the ending of the show. On thing I think we can all agree on, is that it took us all out of who, where and what we are, and gave us an adventure that time will never erase from our minds.
Sayantan Chakraborty somebody missed the point . BRANDON STARK DEMONSTRATED THESE QUALITIES AND HE BECOME THE FIRST OF THE STARK DYNASTY TO BECOME THE KING OF WESTEROES . HE WAS THE PEARL THAT WAS HIDDEN IN PLAIN SIGHT IN THE DEEP OCEAN BED.
@@islamislam-zw3il Bran not is Bran Stark. Bran is only host else one...Three-Eyed Crow a mysterious figure living beyond the Wall. Bran Stark is dead.
Sayantan Chakraborty another dumb post from a dumb viewer If you’ve been actually watching the show ,you’d know that Jon never wanted the throne and belonged in the north
I think that the way they interpreted daerynes, we all lost love for her, and so her death was not as tragic as it should have been even though I’m still sad about the loss of what she used to be in the series
Are there typically commercials during the half time show? I could be wrong but I don't think there actually are... so... if there was one ad, you'd still be correct.
Everybody is complaining about the ending, but to be honest I loved it. It shows reality and how anyone can become mad for power. Humans will always fall to our weaknesses. It’s long been said the breaker of chains blood runs with insanity because she’s a product of incest. So I don’t understand why everyone was so mad when she “flipped”. Since the beginning she’s been mad for the iron throne. She was just like her brother and father, in a different way.
Really? I was sobbing! Mind you, I was mainly sobbing because of Drogon. If Shae's puppy dragged its bleeding carcass to nuzzle up to her, a la John Wick, I may have suffered PTSD.
This is my recap. Winter was never about an actual season like fall or summer. It was a time for an upheaval to re-balance the power in the world. Its like a fire that destroys a forest, even though most of the trees, plants, and bushes have been destroyed they will regrow. Think of all the great houses that have been completely destroyed or have been severely crippled during the show: Tyrells, Lannisters, Starks, Baratheons, Tulleys, Freys, Targaryeans, Martells, Boltons etc. New houses and even some old ones will rise in power. A new seat of power will be chosen up until another winter is needed.
Since Bran is the king, it will be a thousand years plus....before he leave. The last 3 eyed raven said he waited a 1000 years for Bran. The children of the forest was still alive until Bran screwed up with the night king. He acts like he will be controlling Drogon. So it looks like Bran will control the seat of power indefinitely.
Thought tyrion was guna stab dany in the back like jamie did for the mad king. Thought drogon was guna blast jon but he would be immune to dragon fire and then all hail him as king
frankyDawg K that would have been a great development! The dragon would turn on Jon, but then Jon comes out of fire and finally he's a man, and not a milksop he has been for the past 2 seasons.
Helena B true... but hey the man was brought back to life by the lord of light aka the dude that makes all that fire 🔥 happen so whos to say jons not immune to fire now??
I think many fans would agree a spin off series that centers on Arya's adventures would be amazing, naturally Maisie WIlliams would return to the role :)
Ygritte wanted to go south, Caste Black is where ALL Jon's friends died, where Ygritte died, where he was betrayed, WHERE HE DIED, where he has to stay UNTIL HE DIES - I can't think of any place he'd least like to go to, fecking depressing
@@farmerned6 In the end Jon can’t complain though. Because at one point all he wanted was to be in The Night’s Watch. He never expected to get as far as he did because wasn’t a real Stark.

For me I saw the Bran thing coming. He was literally the best player of the game. Of course it helps when you can glimpse the future. However the fact that none of the other 6 leaders weren't more pissed about Sansa's declaration about the north kind of pissed me off. Had I been one of them I would have been like well if they don't have to bend the knee my people won't either.
The whole Grey Worm killing the Queens enemies for taking up arms against her & doing nothing to Jon after he actually killed her just doesn't make any sense. 😠
I know John snow pretty much got away with murder because he's going back to the wall where theres pretty much nothing to guard against, no white walkers and besides a few wildling tribes but the majority of the free folk are already allied with the nights watch and and sansa is queen of the north so he can lowkey comeback when ever he wants given he doesn't go back south.
I liked it. It made George R.R. Martin's point: in the game of thrones-- and politics-- there are no real winners, just a never-ending cycle of fluctuating wins and losses. Bran didn't "win" because he doesn't really care. Dani won many battles and lost her soul to the belief she could destroy people in order to save them. Jon won the war against death with the help of Arya and had to kill his love and sacrifice himself in order to save the 7 kingdoms. Sansa won her kingdom in the North, but has suffered enough to know that her achievement may last her lifetime but will prove temporary in the eye of history.
I don’t think Jon would have died. He’s a Targaryen and fire doesn’t kill them. Drogon probably knew that (he smelled Jon in s7) that’s why he didn’t even attempt to kill Jon. Another moment stolen from us. SMH Jon deserved the throne; it was literally his BIRTHRIGHT. I really hate that D&D denied us of that. I thought Bran couldn’t be King since he’s already the Raven?! That was the biggest injustice for me. I ended up hating Greyworm (a character I loved) and losing respect for Jamie. The council scene was stupid. Saving grace was the Jon/Ghost moment.
Jon was already burned in season 1. He's not immune to fire. Not even all pure targaryens are immune to fire. Viserys wasn't. And actually, I could have sworn Dany was protected by some kind of magic to survive the pyre burning in the books. I might be wrong about that but I thought that was the case and they just left it out of the adaptation.
Yep... here's a quote from George RR Martin... "TARGARYENS ARE NOT IMMUNE TO FIRE. The birth of Dany’s dragons was unique, magical, wonderous, a miracle. She is called The Unburnt because she walked into the flames and lived. But her brother sure as hell wasn’t immune to that molten gold."
Ghost is such a good boy. He lost his ear for Jon and protecting the north, he deserved that head pat and to be reunited with his brother. Fuck the rest of this season though, it was trash.
CodeG2009 I respectfully disagree , sir .. Game of Thrones had the Best ending any show can possibly have .. Bran the Broken , was the Perfect candidate for that cursed post of King of Andals , and the first men... Brandon stark demonstrated that resilience in the face of apocalypse , sticking with your family in times of need , giving societal welfare precedence over personal interest are the attributes of a king . I cried like a baby , when the end credits started rolling ...
islam islam don’t get me wrong probably would’ve liked this season more if it was built over another season or two no one likes it because it was rushed
The irony of cersi and Jamie vs john and Deneris. The both had incestuous relationships and John becomes the "queen slayer" vs the "King slayer". Den vs Cersi becoming "Mad queens" that dont have any heirs as well.
It is as if Jaime and Cersei's relationship was almost foreshadowing Jon and Dany's. I also think that Jaime will kill Cersei in the books, just as Jon killed Dany in the show.
He didn't want anymore blood shed. The north and unsullied would've gone to war. They were trying to come with a peaceful solution and they found the second best. Which is bran.he literally knows everything. And tyrion as his hand. Why not.
Robert Murray i think jon made his choice to kill dany once she told him "i know what its good" when no one can say than for sure and also "they dont get to chose", he was not manipulated by tyrion
@Jim Johnson one of Varys spies. She was trying to poison Dany by putting some in her food. But because Dany was so depressed she wouldnt eat anything. Varys commanded her to put poison in her food basically, they didnt make it clear but i believe thats who she was.
