Hi Roger, A great honest review on your battery mitre saw. Evolution do make a good quality and not so expensive tools, I've got an old Black and Decker fixed mitre saw it's about 12 years old still a good saw. What you have there is a good set up with the saw stand and like you said being a battery saw it's good to do work out side giving you more room in the workshop. As always a great video, catch you soon, Take care

Due to budget constraints, I'm going for the mains powered version with the roller stand. And I won't have to worry about shutting off the dust extraction as it is the power takeoff Evo hoover. As my "shop" is the back garden, I won't be building a station. Thanks for posting. Take care & stay safe.

First of all nice review & it looks like an awesome saw. I would definitely use the new saw & build a new bench. It's a great saw & your neighbours will appreciate it because the saw is much quieter. If you should need to cut outside simply attach your old mitre saw on the stand & use that as your mobile saw. I've not seen you work outside much but you'd be better off moving the old one around even if it means using an extension lead. Honestly you will probably work more in the workshop anyway. Just my opinion for what it's worth. Plus who doesn't enjoy a good old mitre station build. Gives you some more content ideas

I was an early adopter to Evolution when they first started and built my whole workshop with only a mitre saw and a circular saw (plus some wood and screws😂). Loved Evolution but then moved onto a Festool Kapex. Must admit love the look of this saw and thinking of maybe selling the Kapex for this saw. Might get one and do a side by side comparison and film it for my channel then sell the one I do not like. Evolution, do you fancy a tie up? Great channel and love your honest reviews.

I would love a Festool tool...but I can't knock the Evolution tools I have they are fab!

I use a forestry helmet when cutting metal. I think for trenching cuts you should have a piece of wood between the fence and the wood that you are trenching to get the depth even across the piece. If that makes sense? Would definately upgrade to this when my Evolution 210 dies.

Try static can always fix it later if your not happy, I don't have a sliding cross cut saw I use a track saw or hand saw for the little work I do in my shed.

Good review. Agree with TheOldcoder. Forestry helmet or full face cover when cutting metal. Also some decent gloves. I've learned the hard way. Metal splinters are not fun. As for whether to have a static mitre saw or the ability to move it around without a cord just depends on your projects and how you work. As someone else has said, cordless gear has it's place, certainly for tradesmen. But for hobbyists i'm on the corded side of the fence. You don't have to worry about batteries dying and power being lost - plus it's another set of batteries that you have to maintain/replace at some point. I get the benefit they add if your shop is small and you need to cut outside a lot more, but personally, i like having my mitre saw in one fixed position and i work my other tools around it (and my table saw). Each to their own though, and project and workshop size dependent.

I think cordless equipment has its place, especially for site work but in my opinion for the home dryer mains powered tools are the way to go. Not only that the cost would be more than most diyers would be willing to pay.

Thanks for the feedback..I agree the whole bundle is a lot but the saw itself can be bought on it's own and is comparable to other similar saws.

The more I see of evolution tools, the more I'm liking them. Like I said before I have my eye on one of their 210 SMS+ mitre saws £169.98 isn't a bad price for the quality you get (minus my staff discount) I like the look of this one but cannot justify the outlay. I do enjoy your tool reviews, you always give an honest and fair overview of everything the tool has to offer whether you've paid for it with your own money or had it gifted by the company. Keep up the good work, looking forward to your next project using the new toy. Take care happy woodworking 👍

That looks amazing, and I'm so happy that you like it. What are you going to do with the corded one? I know an old disabled guy who would consider buying it from you at a reasonable price 😅

I had the stand before this new version with the wheels. Was strong and well built, but I swapped it out for the titan version. Mainly due to the titan having both arms that extended which kept them straighter. The evolutions single arms always sagged away and when you're using it for the support or even as a basic stop for rough cuts it's just not good enough.

I honest review? I think that’s quite difficult when a company give you a £650 saw plus a stand that’s probably worth £200.! Don’t get me wrong, I’m not blaming you I’m just saying would you really spend that much money on a DIY home saw !. Like you I have a 240v evolution mitre saw,

I enjoy most of your videos, however you do tend to repeat yourself quite a lot and why do call a motor an engine. A motor runs on electricity and an engine runs on fuel (petrol, diesel etc).
