The Gargantuan Leviathan EATS the NEPTUNE ROCKET Now! | Subnautica: Return of the Ancients 

I just received news that the animation where the Gargantuan Leviathan eats the Neptune Rocket is not planned on being updated or incorporated into the final release of the mod. While this is very sad, you can be sure there are plenty of other awesome similar things planned. So we'll just have to wait and see what happens (maybe if we're lucky they'll change their mind)! I'd love to see an animation where, in the void, you get lunged at by a Ghost Leviathan but before it can get to you the Gargantuan comes out of the darkness and eats it.

It's nice that they're not just adding in huge creatures but also providing the player the means to deal with or effectively avoid them with access to the ancient technology.

The gargantuan leviathan staring at you instead of just attacking you is 100x scarier because something huge is scary, but something smart and huge is terrifying.

I imagine the failed launch as: -Ryley jerks forward because of the sudden deceleration. -Neptune AI says, “Major hull breach! Brace for impact!” -The depth goes down rapidly and it gets darker as you go lower and lower. -Everything starts breaking and the AI bugs out saying to abandon ship. -Both the Neptune and you are crushed at 2,000 meters down.

I definitely think some bases should be added to the void because the garg is going to be the biggest appeal of the mod and you’re only gonna see it in the void thanks to size, so you need to bring people out there. This mod is looking so cool though!

I think when the ship reaches its peak in the animation, instead of the warper effect, the ship should shake VIOLENTLY and stay stilll for a bit, and then it starts to get dragged down, and you hear the leviathan screaming in pain from the thruster burns. Riley starts to panic, and looks at the display for the controls and pushes the thruster power all the way up. Screams are now more loud and high-pitched, and up-beat music is played. The ship goes up, and down, and up a bit, and Riley is still freaking out, and then teeth puncture the ship. The PDA says that "This vessel is now not suitable for spaceflight. Breaches in both the core of the ship and the outside metal plating are present." Riley freaks out just a bit more, and then the glass breaks and the top of the ship caves in and dents in a serious manner, and it is pulled to the water. RIley leaves his seat, rushes for the door and jumps out of the ship just in time as the whole entire ship is destroyed. He stares back at once could have been his exit from this planet. Then, one of the survivors from the Sunbeam ship stabs the leviathan in the neck with a heat knife, and it roars in agony. The game cuts to black.

10:08 I'm loving the sounds. I love the fear and the thrill of encountering the leviathans and their screams. Even though I'm sure I'm gonna be scared to death when I play it myself. tbh below zero was kinda disappointing when it came to that element of the game.

This mod is just absolutly incredible. I think it would be cool if there was some sort of base in the void at some point in the story (probably late game) and you would need certain upgrades to get to it. But no matter what they put in, I'm sure it will be amazing!!

The other cutscenes I see happening would most likely be something when you release the cure, maybe a nod to it also healing or something? Something to when you come near the lava zone possibly and some to do with the floating island maybe? As for the last one it will probably be something to do with what they're adding in. Hoping I might be right. P.S. Speedy keep up the good work love the vids!

1:15 Maybe it's a bad ending of the mod, where you got eaten by gargantuan. I know it's sound vert crazy, but maybe to get good ending you need to defeat gargantuan in death zone by architects technologys, or else. Something like a boss fight.

I feel as if it's obvious the Titan Leviathan is meant to be some sort of Crustacean-like creature (Even though a real life Crustacean wouldn't have a skeleton like the Leviathan does) and a few of these designs are little "extra" like the one with tentacles. Soft tentacles wouldn't be able to support an animal with that big of a shell making up it's skeleton. I think the designs that depict it as something that would walk along the sea floor with a tail for some propulsion, like a Lobster, make the Titan Leviathan realistic while also keeping it a scary predator.

6:45 might be where you get the baby garg egg. would make sense why it looks so ominous

Ok lore time I say that the mod makes u understand that the aurora's detonation destroyed an underground alien facility that prevented the last gargantuan leviathan from waking up,but it was destroyed and the gargantuan was awoken from the bottom of the void and with its high intelligence it slowly revived the creatures of it's time by messing with the samples in alien facilities (by using sound waves to reactivate the warper constructor) adding new fauna and flora from de-extinction mod fan art and a lot more(also expanding the crater),once you cure the khraa all new life forms are brought back but once the enforcement platform is deactivated you have to grind for the resources to reapair and reactivate the alien facility that sleeps the gargantuan to launch the Neptune safety. The titan leviathan should also have paddle like legs near the end of its body so it looks like a mantis shrimp. Speedy if you read this show it to the devs to see their thoughts on it. I think ending should be like this: We maybe can go to void to find some alien bases, scan stuff and then we should mark gargantuan leviathan with some signal bullet or something and craft some device that will be material and scan wise hard to make and will be able to hack allien turret. Then when we start rocket there would be cutscene where there will be heard super loud roar so we will go out of rocket and see gargantuan leviathan swimming towards rocket and then we press button and allien turret will just blast that energy beam into him. Then there could be us seeing gargantuan leviathan just float on top of water with half of head blasted off and normal rocket cutscene could continue. I think ending like this would be great idea because it: 1. would make us explore void and its fears 2. make us actually have to face gargantuan leviathan somehow (when we mark it) 3. could make some biomes we didnt even have to visit usefull (there could be some resources for that hack device)

Imagine if you find some sort of giant precursor base and when you enter it the gargantuan leviathan begins to circle the entire base like a snake.

Based on the cracking noises heard in the Titan leviathans sounds, I think it might be digging through the ground like the ice worm.

A cutscene i could see being in the mod is one with the gargantuan waking up, starting in the black abyss of the void, before having it's eyes open, then cutting back to the player as its roar plays in unison with the auora exploding

I would love to see a brand new leviathan that can cloak itself and acts as a final barrier if you go too far out into the void(it plays a Insta kill animation)

My theory as to what the warper effect could be is an EMP blast similar to the Crabsquid, and the Garg can just shoot it out of its mouth at whatever prey may be trying to escape.

I am so so excited for this mod to be open to the public, the devs have put so much time, effort and love into and it looks amazing

Based on the 9:09 Concept, Id call it something like a “Moon shell” (its crescent/forked tail) or “Bone-Shrimp”

I've created my own concept for the "titan" skeleton that has the one you find remains of being the "queen" of a eusocial species, because I've done a lot of swimming around and that individual is too big to fit very well in most of the rest of the cave systems, so if it were a reproductive and the "drones" of the species were smaller, it would make a lot more sense (like ants or bees)

Just the beginning had my jaw drop. I want this mod with every update! It has so much effort put into it and I can't wait. Its absolutely amazing. I'd gladly install and play it instead of Below Zero, because its the same map and it still has that horror / exploration feel that Below Zero kinda excludes. This mod adds on to the horror and I love the concept of the Gargantuan looking through the window of the Cyclops. I would be terrified! And that's exactly why I want it. I hope they release it in the way you said, like at version 1.0 and update from there (I also hope it's free).

Even if they remove the garg grabbing the Neptune, I'd like to say that I really like the concept, but I'm a little on the fence about the solutions some people came up with. I mean, the thing's massive with a capital EVERYTHING, likely very old, and downs ghosts for a bedtime snack. If someone can provide sound evidence, maybe I'll change my mind, but as it stands, I don't think that "more fire" would work. I personally would consider a more likely answer to relate to the ion cannon that shoots down the aurora and the sunbeam. Think about it, the Aurora is massive and the thing was one-shot before it properly entered the planet's atmosphere. That's a pretty powerful gun. I think that a series of objectives following the destruction or the first Neptune (or before, take your pick) to set it up to shoot the garg, or to simply reactivate it and hope that the garg gets in the way before the cannon fires would be more plausible than just "more fire, bigger thrust". Then again, I'm talking logic and spaceman science in a fish game about building a rocket, so maybe I'm the crazy one here. Idk thanks for reading and have a nice day.

8:35 From what I found it might be the actual "Research specimen Theta". The PDA in disease research facility mentions a "Off-site lab" specifically to study research specimen Theta, making that skeleton match the description far more than the skeleton in the facility itself.

One thing I would like is to be able to make maybe some vehicles that the precursors would have used to either transport more things to to help build even bigger stuff and or to be able to build teleporters and better and bigger alien containments for bigger creatures

Imagine a detection system for the gargantuan and having to stealthy hide from it

The nearby noises of the “titan leviathen” make me want to call it a “Bonecrusher” due to that cracking and crumbling noise

I really hope Markiplier replays this game with the mod installed at some point.

The Titan leviathan roars make it sound like it could be more stealthy and ambush its prey.

I can certainly imagine this coming as a DLC for the base game and if it ever dose it would be so cool

This is one of those expansion-sized mods I always look forward to, such as Beyond Skyrim, Tamriel Rebuilt, and the Expanded Galaxy Mod for Mass Effect 3. Good stuff.

Seems fairly possible that you'll be directed to the life pods by going to the void base, and also that this would leave an opportunity to add a much faster submarine and a Depth Upgrade Mk. IV or a Submarine Speed Upgrade and a Depth Upgrade Mk. IV.

I think the titan leviathan could be called the skull leviathan, it kinda looks like a boneshark jumbo sized twice over.

Those sounds for the titan leviathan are amazing.

I feel like one of the Neptune destruction animations should be the Gargantuian jumping out from the water, letting out an ear-shattering scream, passing you on one of your sides, turning around, and facing you as it plumiets toward you, and swallowing you whole

i think for the animation they could have made like, a metal bending type sound and had the Neptune Rocket suddenly stop as if the garg bit into the bottom of the rocket and then sent it further into its mouth

I imagine that Ryley discovers some classified files from the sunbeam and makes a weaponized ship or weapon platform

the titan leviathan sounds pretty good, its like its carapace is cracking and shifting whenever it roars

here are some concpets i would have i would imagine or hope they would make a cut scene for if you go in the void, like how the cuthulu mod is, idk, maybe like if you just swim out there the levathin will jump out from under you and swallow you whole, if ur it he cylops, it would coil around the cyclops then crush it with you inside, if u in the sea moth, then it would come after you at light speed, raming into it, destroying it, if you go into the prawn suit, the levaithin would spawn, chomping your suit in its mouth, the pda would say "warning, prawn suit impact pressure reaching max, please abort"(the cut scnene would prevent you from leaving the suit), eventualing crushing it with you inside. when the aurora would first explode, you would hear the leviathans roar and the waves shake the plaers vision more than before, and you would see the leviathins tails fall below the water, near the back of the aurora, implying the gargantine is waiting there, and if u go up enter the ship the cut scene would play, and reaper would spawn charging at you from a disctance but then the gargantine would come from behind and tear it to shreds, diving back down towards the front of the ship, making getting into the ship a bit more of a task i have a idea but its a bit of a far fetch, when you meet the sea emperor, she would go about her say her normal speech, but in the middle of explaining what happned to the place, shes interupted by the mighty roar of the gargantine, she then says"i sense there is a another one, a creature that is aware of your presence", and thats all i really have but basicly she would acknowlegde the gargatuines exsistance and she would addres it so another cut scene i thought of is when you get to the gargantuine bones remains in the lost river, the pda would say "the creature of ledgned, known as a intellagent hunter" "is knows to make its hunting grounds unknown in places that us altera would avoid" *scans the bones* "scang fossil remains" if you scaned the gargantuine before: "we have found a livng match to the hunter" "survial rate has droped to 0" "avoid any dark or unknown terrain, or you might never make it off the planet" "bio remains hint at the predator is within this area, as there seems to be a lack of predatory type creatures" "extreme diving equipment is adviced" "this evidence might be the reason of lack of surviors in the region" if you havnt scaned it: "unknown worldly life form spoted" "finding match...nothing found" "for farther information, must complet bio scan" "fossils suggetst that this "thing" used to top the food chain on this world" "the creatue also has the bio diversity that implys that it is immune to any type of bacteria or virus, letting it eat what ever it pleases" "based off of where the fossils are we suggest that it used to live i places that we would not advise going" "we can not tell if there is living specimen, but if there is, it will surely find you before you find it" this one i my remake of the ship scene: pda:"leaving orbit soon" *wait 10 seconds* "warning:large object on route" "bio scans show it is a living creature,and if the path keeps it, colision is imanent" *player looks down at the controls* "the creature is-RIGHt iNfRoNt oF YoU" *the player looks up and you see the levatines body leap up infront of the ship, then you see the head falls right on the ship, stuffing the ship in its mouth as you start to go down* "orbital sheild deactivated" *you decend faster, then the ship collaps's back down to the planet, as the screen goes black, and all you hear is the roar, a loud splash and the explosion* thats all i have as of rn

The life pods are gonna be one of the hidden cut scenes baiting you to go out to it and then the big fella is gonna eat or damage you

I like to imagine we will only find one of the two life pods from the sunbeam because i imagine that at least one or both of them landed in the water, only for at least one of them to be directly in the path of the leviathan and be swallowed as it rises from the water with the other life pod having a side on collision with it and being knocked far from its original position with its inhabitants possibly dead

I think the titan leviathan might be a swimming/digging type leviathan like the ice worn leviathan in below zero but in water with like lots of bug legs not bug legs but thousands of legs so it can move around faster

i’d love to see an animation of you using the doomsday device to defeat the gargantuan leviathan with will open the option to escape the planet

I feel like the titan leviathan/brine worm should have a corroded and maybe spotted exoskeleton and skin instead of algae because of all of the sulphuric brine it would swim or crawl through

probably one is going to be the garg swimming around the aurora before the explosion then it shoots through the frontal hull, explaining the lack of one as the fact that the engines are in the back would mean the back should be gone

That little clicky echo at the end of the sound kinda feels like some form of echo location

It would be cool if you needed to get into the building to brace for the wave incoming of the leviathan splashing the water

The concept at 9:54 is not for the titan leviathan, but for the biter leviathan ( the skeleton in the disease research facility)

The 3rd concept art from Aci actually made me think its a distance successor that has evolved survive to the current time of 4546b Lost river cavern

I have a cool ending dlc concept if they will ever use it while your about to escape in your rocket the Gargantuan leviathan would come up and pretty much steal the rocket ruining it making you needing to remake it and makes you pretty much have to somehow retrieve the missing parts of it around the reef and so on and you unlock a new submarine vehicle that’s for combat and you’ll fight the gargantuan leviathan and give you the choice of scaring it off or just out right killing it to get the remaining piece for the Neptune rocket

Personally I think the sounds are somewhat similar to the ice worm in below zero. It sounds like tunneling and then something huge breaking through the sand.

I just had an idea, but what if when you find the Architects signal and have to build a specific base, such as x1 foundation and have specific highlights on where the stuff needs to go. And knowing that the Gargantuan leviathan might be looking through a window at one point, possibly, is going to make me download this mod and play it for myself. I never really have played modded Subnautica but I'll definitely download it once the full thing is released. Tell the devs that they can take their time and do things at their own pace.

The voice for the Titan Leviathan sounds pretty good, but I think leaning more into the deep guttural side would help. Not eliminating the higher tones they have, but just messing with the mixing really

They should try and add a heartbeat sound for the garg because a creature of that magnitude would have a heart that could probably be heard and they should have an animation for maybe destroying an alien base because that would be cool seeing a cool green glow in the oceans of 4546b

Imagine, that the Gargantuan leviathan would speak like Sea Emperor - it would be like Smack in Hobit... Not just big, but also inteligent...

Imagen if you went to the void base and you grab a item in a room that has nothing except the item and a window and as soon as you pick up the item the gargantuan leviathan just swims past the window that would be terrifying! I had a dream that was kind of like that except there were three windows and the sea dragon swam fast all of them and roars.

The Gargantuan Leviathan when you are in the rocket and about to launch it sounds like its saying no like it wants you to stay.

I have mentioned this before on a different channel but decided to mention it here too, but I feel like they should make another floating island area in the void where the sunbeams life pods fell, and the titan leviathan could be in that area. Perhaps they could even make The Bloom able to spawn there (for anyone who doesn't know what the bloom is, it is a bunch of small bioluminescent creatures that are in the files and can be spawned with commands, but they aren't found naturally). Edit: Also I would like to see the alpha peeper and the alpha ray somewhere in the mod.

The titan consept art reminds me of the kaiju destroyah

08:00 I think it would be pretty cool if you could put the seamoth or prawn suit in here and modify them with a special upgrade because it kind of looks like a moonpool

I hope they add stuff to the void itself (besides the alien base) like some small pieces of land, or a bottom to it, or some different alien bases floating in it that you need to get to by going through the void and encounter these "Brought back to life" leviathans in that manner. Because they all seem too big to inhabit the usual Subnautica map. Besides, the PDA announces them as extinct, so you could expect that the PDA cannot research what is down inside the Ecological deadzone, since the only info that the PDA itself declares is the dead zone is inhabited by leviathan class lifeforms.

maybe they should change the cannon so instead of a cannon its a giant propulsion cannon that holds vessels in the atmosphere so that the gargantuan will finish them off and that's how the aurora got blown up instead, as it is right now it feels weird that the quarantine enforcement platform exists when gargantuan serves the same purpose, and then also if you have 2 necessary things to escape the planet, taking down the quarantine platform like the base game and somehow killing the leviathan.

my idea for the upgrade is basically a shield, yes and when the Garg tries to attack, the shield deflects it but puts the rocket very off course, then the player slams the touch pad a few times i guess and that moves the rockets direction at the back and puts it back on course then the power loss from the shield happens and (as a joke) the player looks down and uses a little bicycle pedal power generator to regain the power
