They are my favorite band of all time. I live in the U.S, wish I didn't, but i flew to Holland 3 times to see the Gathering and 3 times to Mexico. I got to meet everyone and the were super super nice and so friendly. There music touches a place in my heart that very few bands have ever come close.

The Gathering were just magic in those days. Saw them two times, Nighttime Birds and How To Measure A Planet eras... What a trip those shows were. Of all the lady-fronted Doom/Goth Metal/whatever bands, they had the best singer. No pseudo soprano diva stuff, just a beautiful Rock sounding voice with perfect pitch and articulation, from a lady who had such a magic stage presence. How lucky we are to have seen them live at that time. The albums are still a part of the regular playlist here, particularly Mandylion and Nighttime Birds.

Her voice... just stunning. Especially from 4:22-5:00. I am smitten.

Where has this band been all my life ? wow I just recently found out about this band and they are so talented !!! Anneke is so beautiful, her smile lights up the whole place and her voice sounds so good !!! the guitars are so heavy and beautiful sounding.. this band is a treasure and full of wonderful magic !!!! ;)

wow. first time watcing their live footage and I fall in love in them all over again. the somebreness of the lyrics and harmonies contrasts their happy go lucky demeanor. that seems like such a dutch thing too, zero pretence, totally casual. and so in the groove, just watch each of them enjoy their instruments so much. probably stoned too. refreshing lack of heavy metal accessories and posturing. and that happy/sad contrast hits so hard at the he culmination of the song "make me cry in vain, leave one tear" - and you get it, this is what catharsis looks like.

For younger people this album is simply amazing buy if you can , listen, and enjoy Mandylion MASTERPIECE

I start to listen then about four or five years ago, since then I've listened other bands too but Gathering will play forever as my favorite band.

Anneke é uma deusa primordial primitiva selvagem das explosões dos tempos atemporal . Não tem como definir à Anneke no plano físico , pois ela não tem definições , ela é sobrenatural . I can compare this album (always)with the bride MDB, nothing less than top level. The evolution of both bands was more than exceptional, different ways , but top shelf music, and live performances. While paradise lost really let me down with their music and 50 minutes concerts

seriously tho this is one of the few bands that sound as good live or sometimes better live than on their album, looks like they were all having a good time on stage.
