Have always liked this song...and identifiy with it...but just a question...the Bible says a man had 2 sons...and the youngest asked for his inheritance...so that would not be the firstborn..Luke 15:11 & 12...

Not to be a wet blanket but it is the younger of the two sons that leaves not the firstborn. Just wondering why the song is written that way?
