I have watched you build your General and I am very impressed with your logic and problem solving skills. For your first dozen or so videos, I was asking myself, “what the hell is he trying to do”? But I admit, you are very intelligent and resourceful in telling your hands what to do. I am very impressed. I used to love to work with my hands and build things, especially muscle cars, but 45 years ago, I lost my right arm in an accident, so my ability to build things has been somewhat limited. But I really enjoy watching you build the General and guessing what you are going to do next and how you will accomplish it. Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences.
This has been a very difficult winter for me personally, and this build has given me something great to look forward to several times a week. You do more good than you know, sir, and I thank you.
I don't know much about Manitoba or its history, but the construction of this beautiful project really speaks to pride, power, individualism, and especially.........craftsmanship. Best wishes for Easter to you and your family.
The General is still the best build of all the builds you can see on the whole of RU-vid! The projector taped to the ceiling is absolutely hilarious! Well done 👍 your ingenuity knows no bounds!
Damn, wish I could own something like that. What a fantastic build. Must be so satisfying to roll down the road in that monster. The proportions are perfect and nothing looks cobbled together, like it was manufactured that way to begin with. If automakers built trucks like that, they'd never keep them in stock. I love technology and all, but there's just something so PURE about a truck like that. And with a manual transmission as well. My heart is as green as that truck with envy. Congrats, man!!
What a journey,, Thankyou for the ride!! Spent 28 years in the automotive trade, and NEVER!!! would have figured you to be a computer tech... You are by far NOT intimidated easily. Best wishes with the General, many happy and healthy miles.
Without a doubt one of the best truck builds I have ever watched!!! I spent the last 3 days binge watching every episode of this build!!! LOVE IT!! THANKS BRENT!
The first thing people are going to ask you, when they see this fantastic truck, is if these were made just for the military, and when?? I hope you have a photo collection on display when you show the truck, so people understand how talented a craftsman you are. My father was the " lead Body Man " from the 30's until he retired in the late 60's, and taught me many things. I wish I would have spent more time learning the skills of working on cars and trucks that are actually made of metal. I noticed how proud you looked when your wife was driving the truck, and with good reason !! Keep the excellent videos coming. Jim S
Fantastic build Brent, sad to see it's over but thank goodness for reruns! Going to start the whole build series again from the beginning. Thanks to you, your Mrs. and Pablo for taking us along for a great ride in the General, much appreciated. Looking forward to your next project.
....opera and painting always go together......that one made me laugh.......thanks Brent......the General is a beauty.......and thanks for taking us along on the build.......
You hit it outa the park on the general. Great proportions and lines. The toughest thing to achieve while you're imagineering. Many guys can imagine it but can't do it, many others can do it but can't imagine it. While there's dozens of combinations that could be "right", there's thousands that are wrong. You've created a truck of envy for many, very cool. Thanks for sharing
That was such an amazing build! I just finished all 50 videos. Thank you for taking us along and showcasing your fantastic diversity of skills and determination. You're an inspiration. Again, Thank You! 👍
Just completed watching the General's "series". What a GREAT looking truck he turned out to be. You did an awesome job of building him...the outstanding skills you displayed during the build are too numerous to mention! Thanks for the "ride". Love your channel. Thanks!
If you are ever in Manitoba on a Sunday in the summer check out all the hotrods and classic cars and trucks on the roads. Nothing to do in the winter time other than being creative in the garage and everyone has to show them off. Looking forward to life after covid to see what people have created , this guy is a master in his craft.... can't wait to see it on the roads in Manitoba
Wow!! The General is one fantastic finished product that you should be proud of!! A dream truck for many of us out here for sure!!! I can't wait to watch your next project!!!.. oh! and great drone/camera work as well !!!
Men and their toys, this one had to be the most fun one of all, next to the Buick to build. I feel giddy on this one myself. Great job. Thanks for sharing
It is so nice to see a craftsman assemble, build, adapt, change what are all stock parts off of donors. Unlike so many parts guys with a tool belt who buy all the pieces and assemble a jigsaw puzzle. Thank you for this, looking forward to any more of your projects.
Part made in the U.S.A. , back in the day, take apart and repair. Part Made in China , now a days , "Hermetically Sealed" not to be repaired & thrown in trash. The STAR on Drivers door looks as though it belongs there, & STAR on the hood looks great. Cool touch .....the opera while you were painting.. Thanks for taking us on this journey, of the GENERAL.
I can’t believe why some people thumbed down this wonderful project. Anyway, they owned up to their different opinions. Well done 👍🏾. Love from Africa 🇳🇬.
You are a talented feller Bud. The General is awesome! It actually looks like something the Army would have had around the Korea/Vietnam era. Great job!
Such a GREAT turnout. I was glued to the initial vids on the build recognizing all the hard work and determination! Well done!! Really enjoyed the entire series! Ur ol dog loves the General!
@@HalfassKustoms You could make a camper out of it like this ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5VHRIF7w4D0.html&lc=UgxZmf3dfr__a8hIbvd4AaABAg.9Li0BBMvBCo9Li2WpnRxuJ Thx for the inspiration you gave me to make it. Great work.
Thanks for sharing this awesome build series, and for all the time and effort to do the build itself, along with the excellent filming and editing. The General is a true reflection of your talent and you deserve a full 5 stars for effort. 👍👍👍👍👍 As always, I'm looking forward to your next build series.
I think you are a true artist. You are great at what you do and a real go getter, much respect. Always wishing you love, life, health and happiness. From Chicago IL.
Carona and I loved watching you figure out the old skewl looking tachometer! I was SERIOUSLY in suspense watching you mate the old dial and glass to the new gauge! Amazing how you mated the old with the new! Love your attitude. "Should work", I don't know"! It looks awesome! As a previous owner of many ex military vehicles I think you nailed the stencils. The projector idea was awesome! And your choice in beer is improving! Still Love how Pablo lets himself out! Carona loved watching you paint the hood emblem! The air video of the General pulling two cars was AWESOME. And thanks for the wife being in it.
I followed the entire build and think you did a great job. I work like you and figure it out as I get it in my head. Really nice of you to take the time to film it all for us. Lets see more!
Thank you, Brent! This build has been an absolute blast to witness! I have learned so much from just watching what you have overcome, that the only "issues" with my own stuff are all turning out to be relatively minor! Keep sharing, I'll keep watching! (Pablo looks very contented with himself in his rear seat, too!) Be safe!
you do have the gift to do what you feel. have not seen anything you have done that has not looked extreme. you for sure got what it takes. thanks again for the good work and the good videos.
Years ago they would take the chain that connected to your tailgate and feed it through bicycle tire tubes and it would prevent the chains from bashing against the box of the truck. Works really well give it a go. Usually the tube is cut to the full length of the chain almost. maybe three inches from the hooks if you know what I mean. I know I'm late on sharing this you posted this video a year ago. I think Pablo is very please with this build and your wifes smile says it all. Total Suggest Brent. Great Job Well done.
i have totally enjoyed every episode of this build. the truck is work of functional art. you have some major skills and i appreciate you sharing with us.
The complete package with the "General, the trailer and the 2 rods is absolutely stunning. Your long and hard work really stands out. I wish I were in your neighborhood to see the finished products in person.
Tached into place, new tach takes da place of an old face. Starz on da hood n front doorz, projectered, tracered, paintered, scuffedered, patinaered. From mopey pablo to Generalissimo Pablo. General's gotta have a Generalissimo in da back of da command vehicle! Great video!!
Love the General ⭐️ turned out great. Everything turned out great. Unbelievable that you turned 3 junk trucks into a masterpiece. Can’t wait to see you finish the square body and whatever projects you have in store for us next. Your wife looks happy driving it and your dog riding. You look proud driving it as you should. 🇻🇳🇸🇴👍👊⭐️🇺🇸
