What a fantastic train wreck of random awesome ideas! I love it! You are very creative. I have done some of the stuff you have done but not all of them. I love it when other creators get me to think and see projects differently. Thank you for sharing.

I would be very curious how long the black paint on the faucet lasted. Did it start chipping. It seems like a great idea but I'm skeptical. Cant imagine it lasting past a couple months. Hope I'm wrong.

Merina on her Fearfully Created YT channel painted her taps & her kitchen sink. A year on, the taps are still good, but the sink it's all chipping off very badly.

Oooh I did not like that brick fireplace or the beads in the bathroom…..oh and the brick on the wall in the dining room? Why??
@zoemayne

😂😂😂😂😂 Nailing, plastering and caulking all these things onto walls when it could of been simply paint. Only thing missing here is wall paper. Nightmare to remove.

Some of those were full cringe DIY gone bad. But the shiplap over the popcorn ceiling and the molding on the bedroom wall.....huge improvement for very little money. Keep the taste level up. Skip the spray painting, brick treatments, and even worse, faux brick treatments. Yikes.

Shame on Hometalk for showing people using a nail gun without wearing eye protection--especially using it overhead! I have a friend who lost an eye that way.

Wow, I have to agree with you on that, but then again, people ought to know better. It's common sense... Sorry for your friend who lost an eye that way 💔

If it’s common sense, why isn’t the woman in the video, who is claiming to have something to teach people, wearing safety glasses?

@@kellyanne7225yeah I’m a pretty huge fan of natural selection nowadays. The laziness of some people not even willing to consider their own safety.. yikes. Let them figure it out.

Omg some things were nice but those bricks were awful!! Those black taps? The black tiles round the bath? Sometimes it spoilt what was there already

Fast forward 30 years and popcorn ceilings will become the wood floors of today that were covered by carpet. “Hey look what I found!” “Why would anyone cover this up?”

Asbestos…. That’s why we cover them up. Our house was built in 78, two years before the ban of asbestos in popcorn ceilings. Sent a sample in for a test and BOOM! Asbestos. So we either paint over it, cover it up like this, or pay a premium for a company to professionally remove it. It’s between the first two lol!

Instead of pulling the caulking gun down a seam, push it. You’ll get a much smoother bead.

Ceilings: Thin sheet rock has been used for years to cover popcorn, instead of scraping. Quicker, easier less messy. Even of you used 1/2", it's still easier and cleaner than scraping popcorn. Just take your time and don't slop mud all over the place. (IMHO of course)
