Having lost his sight at an early, his hearing sharpened along with his incredible musical ability, allows him to hear and do things that perhaps not even the best sighted musicians are able.
Unfortunately, he wasn't listening when God said 'I Just Called to Say I Love You' should be placed swiftly in the bin, not released to torture the ears of the world's music lovers.
We don't praise Stevie Wonder enough, but he deserves to be remembered as one of the finest composers ever. A genius indeed! Thank you VIctoria for this easy to understand break down of some of his great songs.
Brilliant presentation. Thank you Victoria Theodore...The only beef I've got with this video is : It's much too brief than i would've wanted ( I'm sure many feel the same way I do) We'd love to have a Sequel.. Stevie's work is so brilliant and extensive, 17 minutes wouldn't do it much justice..Thanks again Sis. You're Wonderful....
Stevie is, without question, one of the greatest and most profound musicians of our lifetime. Astonishing the sheer amount and quality of his output, and how he always manages to so beautifully weave harmony into songs that are deep with meaning. ❤
Perhaps you would explore for readers the profound meaning of his most commercially successful ditty: I just called to say I love you I just called to say how much I care I just called to say I love you And I mean it from the bottom of my heart Not even Liberace could have composed such a lyric.
@@VictoriaTheodore Yes, and a pleasant woman too. Let me notice, you're in a good physical shape and have beautiful legs, which is a pleasant cherry on your explanation cake.
Certainly up there with Paul McCartney and Joni Mitchell, Paul Simon and others. The list would expand dramatically if you included jazz and blues. There are so many musical geniuses. We are blessed.
@@andrewfraser4376 Up there with McCartney, Lennon, Simon, Dylan, and all the other geniuses. But if you make a mix with songwriting, instrumentalist, singing abilities, Stevie is probably the best ever.
Stevie wonder is widely considered to be a musical genius, known for his soulful and emotional performances, as well as his ability to blend different genres of music.
You made me cry Victoria! The love, the gratitude, the admiration you express through every word is just overwhelming! That you so much, I am flattered I'm a friend of yours.
This was great! Loved the way she broke down the songs highlighting the harmonic and rhythmic genius of Stevie Wonder. Oh yeah, and he wrote brilliant, fresh, moving lyrics too!
when I heard Stevie for the first time - I can say without any hesitation nobody touch me more musically (emotionally) and lyrically (mentally) more than Stevie - the combination of the both was a spiritual experience for me that no other artist had ever done for me. Personally he was one individual that persuaded and convinced me God exists as his nature was explained and expressed in his music.
So much of his music can take you to these beautiful little worlds. A great demo of a musical genius and American original- Stevie’s music is totally approachable while being the height of musical sophistication- a very hard thing to do.
I love Victoria , I had seen her many times during Stevie's concerts .Victoria had a website where she showed what it was like to travel while on tour with Stevie and how they spent their time. A nice, open , smiled woman and an excellent pianist. Thank you Victoria.
Thank you Victoria! Not only are you truly blessed to be able to perform with Stevie, you’re a fantastic musician yourself. The world needs more people like you to carry on the legacy of great artists, and in turn become like them.
O M G such a talened beautiful woman explaining the genious of Stevie is truly a Wonder- ful story & coool way to enjoy Stevie s musical gifts & BTW Stevie is the worlds greatest harmonica player also in my opinion !
Thank you so much for doing this Stevie Wonder video. He is one of a kind! Songs in the Key of Life came out when I was a teenager and it covered so many different types of music and all of it great!! Changed my musical outlook forever!! He truly is a musical genius....
Maior gênio da música popular. Estou torcendo muito para que realmente ele venha para o Rock in Rio, apesar de eu morar em São Paulo pois, provavelmente não terei outra chance.
Attended his Square Circle Concert. I’ve seen Michael, Prince, Sade, Vandross, Temptations, Jarreau, James Brown. Stevie’s concert is my all time favorite.
The joy this man has given me over the course of my life is impossible to describe. I feel so blessed to have become fully engaged with music as a teen right at the time that Stevie went into his great period. Innervisions was the soundtrack to my mid teens, and has remained so ever since.
Thanks for the great tribute and analysis of the Master. He writes so many great hurtin' songs that are so beautiful, you don't even realize the pain that song emotes. Funky what can we say, your analysis is fantastic. I am now a fan of yours too. Regards Robin
I was born at the right time to witness this great music as it came out. We would wait with great anticipation for the next Stevie album to be released. What a string of masterpieces he had during the seventies and early eighties. The sounds themselves come from inside his mind. Thanks for this, Victoria.
When I was 17 in 1971 I saw Stevie open for The Rolling Stones. As soon as I got home I bought Talking Book Then saw him in the 1970’s tours The best concert of my life was at the Dorthy Chandler Pavilion in 1980 doing Journey Through The Secret Life of Plants Everyone left the concert with a smile on their faces and hearing the music in their hearts. I was a concert going person but that show I can still feel the beat ❤️
For years, i kept telling my friends that stevie is a cut above others. How he came up with those otherworldly (yet beauuutiful) chords is still a mistery to me.
Oh my God this video looks are incredible I didn’t know much about the Steve’s story but now I will listen more of his songs and try to get someone’s in the keyboard. When Victoria is presenting I got already excited she has such a good energy. I love it!!!!! 😍😍😍
Ms. Theodore this was a beautiful presentation the production value of this video is excellent but the kicker, was your demonstration on the keyboards provided an invaluable clinic...🎉
Yeah, I wish I'd have the chance to learn from her. She understands Stevie's music and apparently can play it all, given she performed with him. Love to see more videos from her, given I won't be getting private lessons from her!
You play just as amazing and so soulfully beautiful Victoria wow😍 What an AMAZING “Homage Mini-Documentary Instructional video” I love it! Just pulled me in completely from the start. Incredibly outstanding, beautifully well done Victoria, editors, media department and all involved at Pianote! More of these please:)
One of my favorite Stevie Wonder song that was not mentioned here is a short song he made for Sesame Street (1-2-3 Sesame Street). I had never heard something like this as a kid. He used a voice modulator that made him sound like a robot. Surprisingly even as an adult I can't get enough of tht song. It's like that 1-2-3-4-5 song from Sesame Street. I gained a bigger appreciation for it when i found out it was from the Pointer Sisters. While he was on that Sesame Street episode, the songs never felt like thwy were for little kids. It was the real deal
Simply the Greatest Artist…EVER Years and years of Greatness. A pioneer of new sounds on keys/synths. An AMAZING composer so many incredible songs that span several different genres. Saw him live in the early 80’s and again just a couple of years ago. Sang every song in the ORIGINAL key. His live show left me speechless. No gimmicks just PURE TALENT🎹. Every time I listen to his music (With headphones) I hear something new I didn’t hear before. That’s what TRUE GREATNESS IS🔥
This was amazing! 👏 Incredibly inspiring. I was captivated from start to finish. I've played several of Stevie Wonders song. But now, I'm realizing that there's so much more to learn in his chord progressions, song writing, sense of melody, rhythm, plus being a good person. Thank you!
Sept. 1976, I had just moved into my sophomore year college dorm room with my music major roommate. He had a new, unwrapped Songs in the Key of Life album. Two white guys… He cracked it open and it was the first disk on our just set-up stereo. Within a few minutes, we had four African American guys from down the hall grooving out to one of the greatest albums of all time. The races bonded because of the greatness of Stevie!
Victoria must be my third most watched pianist I’ve have seen in concert, Stevie number two and at number 1 my eldest Son, also a massive Wonder fan. We both were at the SITKOL concert at Hyde Park in 2016, I wore the t-shirt I bought the first time I saw Stevie 36 years earlier, the Hotter than July Music Picnic at Wembley Arena. P E A C E - L O V E - U N I T Y : )
Stevie Wonder is Truly a Phenomenal Genius. He is one of the reasons I play drum/ percussions today. I was Bless to see him many times live in concert, starting at The Uptown Theater in Philly. He is One of The Best all around Musicians off All Times. He truly influences my music today. Great Blessings Master Musician legend Stevie Wonder .

What an incredible presentation of Stevie’s genius! Combining visuals of the Roman Numeral chord with sheet music and explanations of the scales and key changes Stevie uses deepens my understanding of his music and helps me learn the song so much faster. Gracias! 🙏
