In this fiddle lesson I explain and demonstrate the Georgia Shuffle. A shuffle is a bowing pattern or rhythmic groove used by fiddle players, especially in country music styles, to create drive. The Georgia Shuffle does this with three slurred notes on an up bow, and a single accented down bow. I demonstrate this with various simple scales and exercises, then try it out with the tune "8th of January". I try it out on a less suitable tune, Old Joe Clark, and finish off with an improvisation based on the shuffle. I use on-screen sheet music which is available as a pdf to subscribers.
