Even though Scratch is back to being Todd, I feel like since he had to hurry and get to the bus stop, he saved his final goodbye for his BFF Molly. I love how he gives off subtle hints that he remembers his life as Scratch, that his life with Molly meant more to him than he can say. Also, how could Todd remember his nickname for Molly and tell his life story to a total stranger if he didn't remember her? Such a beautiful ending.😍
i think he remembers certain things or names, but not molly as a person, for him in his amnesiac state she probably looks like a molly. I hope they make a movie to get the final closure and somehow get his memories back
He doesn't is the thing; only bits and pieces. It's bittersweet because there wasn't an "official" goodbye but Molly didn't need that because she's already accepted Scratch becoming Todd as the goodbye. He doesn't remember except for pieces but what they had was very real, and thats what makes it so bittersweet.
as hard as it must be for molly and everyone else; that line and just how sad geoff looks breaks my heart the most geoffs known scratch the longest and always thought of them as best friends; and i doubt its nearly as common for ghosts to lose someone in this way since its not like they can die again - closest thered be is the flow of failed phantoms seeing geoff look so sad makes me sad; theyre such a sweetheart
What’s bittersweet about this ending is that Scratch and Molly could meet again, either Scratch dies and visits an older Molly, or they both die and meet again as adults😭
I do think an interesting idea for a sequel series would be that after truly becoming a ghost now, he would return to a now adult molly who had married Oliver and have adventures with their offspring/s.
Technically, scratch would reunite with adia and eventually, they would die together and come back as ghosts before reuniting with the mcgees, especially molly!
This. There are so many shows i absolutely love, but i feel like they get kind of ruined by constant happy endings. I want something bittersweet or sad
The fact that an animated cartoon can make you feel such emotions is enhappifying. This may not have been the ending we wanted, but it was what we needed.
I like to think this was Scratch's last prank, one last hurrah on the whole town to make them think he lost his memories. But gave away juuuust enough hints to Molly, that her kindness pulled him through to meet the love of his life again.
Definitely a great way to wrap up the season. Scratch the wraith goes back to being Todd and gets another chance to live out his life. It's sad to see Libby, Darryl, Sharon, and Pete try to jog Todd's memories as Scratch, but to no avail. Even Molly doesn't seem to get through to him at first, but due to their friendship, there are hints of Scratch coming to the surface of Todd. There was a nice little callback to the lucky penny episode, and we finally understand the meaning behind the monkey in a suit that was in Scratch's subconscious. It's a touching and heartfelt goodbye between Molly and Scratch, with the possibility that they'll meet again. I honestly hope that another season comes, even though this feels like a series finale. They may have to change the title since the "ghost" in the ghost and Molly McGee is no longer a wraith.
@@colecamp2539 or maybe he does and just wants to go in peace think about it. If he mentioned Molly’s nickname. He probably wants to give her some little closure but also wants to move on. Who knows maybe someday they will reunite just as much as the deer old friends.
Dude, this episode was the most remarkable thing I've seen in a long time. Not only is Scratch a wraith, but I NEVER would have thought that his shell would be that random background character! MIND. BLOWN! Everything in this finale was perfection, especially Libby's speech, it really touched me. Honestly, I was in a dark place for a while, but this episode truly helped me see the light. So, if any gloom comes my way, I'll always think of this show. I have been enhappified. Thank you, The Ghost and Molly McGee ❤👻
That's funny cause I definitely noticed Todd's striking similarity to Scratch and the fandom sites online were already theorizing that since the concept of wraiths was introduced. Seems you got to enjoy the "twist" more ehehe
I cannot begin to explain how much this show changed me. I've been hesitant and I've avoided watching this episode because it would mean accepting that this is the end. But today I watched and gosh what a finale, it's easy to stick to a memory, an illusion and avoid taking risks, but how can that be living? Enjoy every moment of your lives, the good and the bad, because all those emotions and feelings are the proof that we're alive afterall Also, please remember to tune in to watch the premiere of the second season of Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, we should support the creators and help them get the time to air the show and not get cancelled!
@@stormierkinji8021 it is! I agree, at first I found it hard to watch it but it gets better and better. Every episode has an action scene with an original song. The characters are all super charismatic
Yep the Disney+ ratings weren't good so Disney pulled the plug but surprisingly agreed to let the creators have one more episode then intended to give it a proper end@@Master-Works
I just flew back from my first solo holiday. I spent five nights in Paris and it was the first time I’d been outside the UK on my own. I was scared of many things happening like losing my passport or getting mugged or worse. But, I took a risk and I had an adventure. It may not have been a trip around the world, but now that I’m back home again sharing all the stories and photos with my parents, I feel stronger. So seeing this episode while I was waiting for my return flight really struck a chord with me in how I have some things in common with Scratch (Todd) including the fears of being left behind (which I knew all too well after my college years ended) and taking risks in life. But it truly is worth it, cause even when some parts go wrong, in the grand scheme of things you do come out braver and bigger than before when you take those risks in life for the future. I think next time I’m gonna take my brother’s suggestion and go to Rome.
Really thought we'd get another series finale timeskip ending (after Todd leaves Brighton), and we got scenes like: Molly becomes the new mayor of Brighton Sharon becomes an artist Darryl becomes either a mob boss or Atomic Pink band manager etc.
I love endings but for this Disney cartoon that is emotional 😢 goodbye the ghost and molly McGee i loved the characters molly and scratch I’ll never forget them❤
(Future) Adult Molly:(staring at a photo of her and Scratch) Molly and Ollie's Daughter:You miss him don't you Mom Adult Molly:(wipes her tears)Yeah Molly and Ollie's Son:Cheer up i'm sure he'll come back Adult Ollie:Let's hope so Adult Darryl:You can say that again Adult June:Yeah
The transformation scene is similar to Beauty and the Beast when the beast turned into a human. At least this show ended properly something that should have happened to Brandy & Mr. Whiskers when Brandy should have returned to Florida instead of being stuck in the Amazon forever. Even Kim Possible ended the series properly like this. This episode also like the beginning of the series, doesn't start with the theme song. Todd = Scratch and Adia = Jinx. This episode may give you all so many ramifications in your lifetime over decisions being made.
Adia isn't Jinx though. Adia is still living her life to her fullest, meaning she still should have her soul, while Jinx is still trapped in the Chen's ghost canister.
Reminds me a lot of the gravity falls ending for some reason… an important character losing their memory (Stan gets it back though), saying goodbye to their friends, leaving town. “See you next summer” and “See you in the afterlife” are both pretty similar. I dunno there’s just something else about it though
Wow. Today this appeared on my recommended and i just learned about the existence of the ending of this series and the fact it has a fandom too. Just wow.
I have yet to watch series as i thought i wouldnt care for it but watching the ending part is just another reminder of how good shows are when they have a heart felt ending ❤️ now i have to watch series
Certainly bittersweet Molly said her goodbye to Scratch after returning to his body but knew it was best for him to return back to his old body and no longer hide away as he once did. Playing off on not knowing Libby, Darryl and Molly’s parents and then saving his goodbye to Molly was done perfectly, as they all probably would’ve tried to convince Todd to stay but knew it was time for him to start living.
After watching this ending. I don’t want another season because this is perfect ending. I don’t want it to be like Star vs forces of evil or Randy cunnningham 9th grade ninja, anti-climax rush ending.
0:13 I picture this score to be used in T2 As the T-800 melts himself in the steel. The future is reset and Skynet ceases existence. The billions of human deaths are alive and cities are restored. Life goes on without war and death. If a terminator can understand and value a human life, so can we.
well this is interesting, this show had an actual ending, most shows of this genre usually just continue until they get cancelled or have and ending that doesn't change anything, like what happened to kid vs kat
This was sorta obvious since Todd showed all the signs as early as his character introduction to be scratches body and it was like mostly confirmed when Molly entered the ghost world and became a wraith
It is but... honestly? I'm puzzled about how it managed to outlive so Many better shows. I mean come on: Tangled the Series, Ducktales 2017, Big Hero 6 the series (S3 aside...), Amphibia, The Owl House and The Ghost and Molly McGee are FAR better shows, and yet they all lasted like... the half of that one. What does Disney find of so special for that one to meet their favore compared to the other shows I mentioned?
@@grayfox4819The answer most likely lies in revenue. Big City Greens manages to maintain a comparable quality to those shows while also appealing to the main demographic which watches Disney channel. Also in terms of appeal Big City Greens is FAR less risky than the other shows you listed - which while it makes the show less interesting than many of the others it also means the show is something the channel is more comfortable producing more of because the appeal is guaranteed. It’s not a satisfying answer, but what’s important to remember is that Disney is a company and their top priority as a company is making money and maintaining a safe public image. Whether they’re succeeding at that is an entirely different question but many questionable decisions will eventually lead back to that fact.
@@grayfox4819Big City Greens outlives the other shows because of its episodic yet serious plot that 100% relates to viewers. It does deal with serious topics, but not to the point to make the show unappealing for those who like serious shows.
Hey everyone while I'm happy we got a finale for The Ghost and Molly McGee. So it won't end up the same fate as The Simpsons and Family Guy. I'm just mad at how it ended with us knowing that Libby's father (Matias) is a deadbeat. Like seriously Andrea never met Scratch, The Chairman that Molly destroyed never came back for revenge, Libby dad Matias turned out to be a deadbeat person. Like since Matias only appeared in one episode and barely served any purpose in it this makes him just a filler character. Worse he didn't come back with a change of heart.
Oh get out, wait so that theory was true?! I thought there's no way this could be true, I saw one video and chalked it up to a head canon. Omg! I should've watched this show. Happy ending.
Still believe he DOES remember but chooses to pretend not to in order to stop putting off traveling with his childhood friend. Possibly coming back with her after their adventures to reunite to be all "I never forgot Molly, sorry about that."
Also everyone I have nothing against Big City Greens. I just hate it how it was on Tv before Amphibia, The Owl House, and The Ghost and Molly McGee and yet it still managed to out last all three.
Not to be whiny, but I wish we got to see more from the show like: The previous Chairman's face and name More or any character interactions like Molly and June, Andrea and Libby, Darryl and Ollie, etc. McGee family visiting Thailand Bizmart CEO being a recurring villain to show some Chip Whistler vibes Mollie kiss (on the lips) Scratch, Libby, and/or Darryl finding love
Still, Scratch partially stayed with them: it’s a curse every time they say one of the unpopular words. I think they will often say this word to remember it
