This is absolutely the most detailed explanation of this technique on RU-vid. 10/10 well done.

I am an older purple belt and I've always had a hard time getting out of bottom side control using classic jiu jitsu techniques. After watching your ghost/phantom escape videos and rehearsing it in my head for a week, I'm happy to report that I was able to pull it off on all of my training partners last night. Not only that, I was also able to hit the wedding sweep on two of them. Your channel is a game changer. I had a huge smile on my face driving home from training last night. Thank you 🙏

Been using the ghost escape to darce or front headlock come up since 2009. It's my #1 side control escape and it has been for years and years. This has been a hardcore area of focus for me and I still saw some gems in here I've never seen anywhere before. Your video just showed up as a suggestion in my feed. Super like and you got a new subscriber for sure. Awesome content brother.

Thanks a lot Brother! It’s a culmination of 25 years of grappling for me. I learned it in 1996 and it’s been a killer weapon for me starting just a few years ago. The reps add up and now there is so much feel. Thank you!

Ahhh cool fellow Rear bandits haha. I find the Darce finish risk-kay. Ive gotten it on people on higher levels than me, and tons of lower belts, but often guys can posture or jump over. No im trying to master getting to the front headlock and then work anaconda/darce/farmaconda/arm in guillotine or back take. Have you any pointers Andre??? Also thank you TeachMeGrappling

Have had this done to me over the years and from experience ive learned just to always keep that bottom arm trapped above my thigh. In my opinion this will only really work against inexperienced fighters but its good things to know of and explore! If he does pop or releases pressure from side control this is very effective!

I've been practicing this move for a while and I'm finally consistently pulling it off against larger opponents and it's beautiful. Combine this with Coach's Phantom Escape + having a good way to frame and having a real deep bridge to shrimp and reguard is just magic. For people getting stuck in N/S I've been having a lot of success just bridging and forcing myself back into sidecontrol which gives you the Marcelo elbow push sit up escape. If they turn in then it's good cause now you can ghost 😎

What do you do against a North South specialist? I keep getting caught in North South when I try this against a heavier guy in my class. I’m guessing it’s because I let his arm go to the “doorstop” side??

I'm usually the one doing the north south choke against people who try this escape. But with the added detail of trapping the far side arm, I could imagine this to be effective to prevent it.

Yes, a Cult. Assuming by your name you know all about those. Its all a Marketing Franchise, BJJ and UFC Franchises and if you listen to the mouthpiece Joe Rogan then anything else is lame and worthy of ridicule. Wankers running around claiming they do MMA, what the fuck even is MMA? Could be Taekwondo and Aikido for all I know but then you'd just call it Krav Maga! Krav Maga is apparently cool according to these mindless minion but the Taekwondo and Aikido that go into it are not? I wonder if these fucktards listen to themselves sometimes or if they don't have a clue in the first place and some random popup MMA McDojo was their first experience. Thats alright though, coz chewing up carbon copy MMA faggots makes for easy work ;)

When you shoot the arm underneath your opponent are you in danger of them stepping over your head for the far side armbar?
@TeachMeGrappling
@TeachMeGrappling 6 лет назад
No... reason is because you have control of their underhook arm. If you allow the elbow to the chest then yes you are in serious danger. Arch your hips and pull the arm and you should be fine. Check out my details ghost escape video. 👍

Once that elbow creates a frame on the hip..... the hold for side control is already mostly broken, getting that frame there isn't so easy! I fight to make sure that elbow doesn't get there! Once that frame gets in place you are already about to escape.

Yep... if it’s not there, you must do something else and come back when the space permits. Setups are key.

I don't know if I would call any technique in jiujitsu unstoppable. Controlling the far tricep is the key to this technique but it makes you vulnerable to far side arm bars and kimuras. If you are trying to work the escape and you are somewhat stuck because of their sprawled hip into kesa getame then be aware your arm is just hanging out there in a vulnerable position.
@TeachMeGrappling
@TeachMeGrappling 6 лет назад
Yes I discussed this issue in the video series. Of course the technique is not unstoppable. It’s more about how you should visualize all of your techniques as you do them. It’s a mentality I have that I want to pass on. It also gets more people watching! 😜
