Vigil is an absolute legend, this is some great stuff from the guys. This definitely has wage war vibes. As a long time TGI fan, i can say that i am definitely digging this song.
Saw these dudes back in August and they told us during the meet-and-greet that they'd wanted to switch up their sound, evolve and that it would be contentious. Buy they'd still be heavy as fuck. TGI forever, love these guys so much.
At the end of the song, the order of those last few guitar cords ontop of that tone gave me some CKY vibes for some reason.. anyone else here that or am I fuckin crazy? lol
It isn't a Ghost Inside song...and that is completely fine. It is the band trying something new while still holding to their roots a little bit. That chorus just screams TGI for me based on the chord structure, though. And I'm happy as hell that Vigil is getting more confident with his clean voice. Can't wait to see what the whole album sounds like!!!
Actually, out of everything I've heard from these guys, this is my favorite song by them. Gave me Polaris Vibes towards the bridge of the song, overall this sound is what I would like to hear from them more!
All for bands exploring their sound etc, but TGI had a unique feeling in the past and this song feels like it could have been written by about 30 different bands. When BMTH were experimenting at least you still knew it was them
Not hating because I love this band but this is obviously very different....still good and very catchy. Vigil has every right to explore his vocal ability buuuuuuut I still prefer the more hardcore tracks from them. Songs like this will take some getting used to if that's the direction they want to explore.
I've never heard of this band before. Loved the song. And like, I like modern metalcore, but I LOVE that early 2000's hard rock sound that this song had. And like they said, it sounded like a little wage war-y, which I also love. This track is definitely goin on my rock playlist.
Huge TGI fan, loved them since I heard of them around Returners This shows their range and musical talent Don’t hate them, respect them for trying new things This song is incredibly good even if it’s not their normal style Keep it coming TGI ❤
Johnny's rage was on point 😂 I think they are trying to broaden their fanbase maybe Like a friend of mine isnt into hardcore but she would like this Sure they are gonna cop hate from older fans but they could bring in new fans
"I guarantee" was part of a catch phrase of the character "Leatherhead" from the teenage mutant ninja turtles cartoon.. but it think its been in other things as well. Just what comes to my dorky head when I hear it.
I personally don’t mind this approach from TGI as I could almost guarantee this means more TGI will be on SXM Octane and that’s a W in my book Also, this is 100% a Wage War song and I will never be convinced otherwise but that’s perfectly fine because we love WW
Totally agree with you guys I think Cody from Wage War helped out with the writing on this song. That melody in the chorus sounds like something off their last album Manic. Pretty cool song I'll have a few more listens and see if it grows on me or not! \m/
I have been working with a metalhead for the last month, told him tgi was my favorite music ever, showed him my tattoo, made him listen to give what you get, from start to finish. One morning, 6am, he is like "dude TGI just dropped a new single". We turn on the wireless speaker and dive in. He told me he saw my hearth broke in my eyes. you know, like ralph in the simpson. Look im not here to shit on the band, will love them forever, but i really dont get why you would go from a signature sound (which millions bands failed to attempt) to something I got thousand bands to compare. I dont control the music i like and the music i dont. Its just who i am. It hurts when a band, that you have never skipped a song, release something you never liked in any band. Fuck you dickriders if you wanna say condescending shit to me. If you wanna have a friendly open discussion, im all here for it. Music is personal
Was that reference supposed to Ray from Princess and the Frog? Maybe? Idk, haven't seen it since it came out. Could also be Foghorn Leghorn from looney tunes?
I love TGI🖤,I've been listening to TGI since 2008,this song🤔...isn't bad but I can't hear TGI in it,it's about habit.I'm still looking forward to the new album👊
Not evey song from them has to be all heavy for me to enjoy it. For example the song One Choice off their last album is one of my favorite songs by them but it also stood out a lot more than this. With that being said all of their albums have been great from front to back so I dont expect anything less from this next one.
I don't have a problem with bands wanting to change things up, but for me it's gotta really stand out and wow me. This song did nothing for me. It's a song I've heard a thousand times before from bands wanting to go a similar route. I think a band like Whitechapel nailed it changing their sound up. It was a gradual thing to me at least and turned out Phil has an outstanding singing voice and those "softer" songs blew me away.
It’s a solid song but I do think it’s a bit too much of a safe “octane core” song. The production and chorus are huge sounding but it also sounds like a lot of other bands to me unfortunately.
