23:46 Bataan Death March was one of the most disgraceful war crime Japanese Army committed against Allied prisoners of war. Everyone who stated it would shattered image of honoured Japanese soldiers forever. Basically, Japanese took too much casualties and decided to avenge their fallen comrades by forcing all American and Philippines alike to March to their POW camps. You know, same Americans and Philippines who fought until the end, who were starved, injured, sick and exhausted. And everyone who were unable to keep marching were stabbed with bayonets (because “they did not deserved bullets”, according to pro-Japanese sources). And worst of all, it was not first and neither last time Japanese forces ever done to prisoners of war on any front they fought.

Antibiotics were pretty new technology back then. It was one of the edges that America (and presumably the Allies) had over Axis forces.

Hi...I believe this is the comment I posted on the original upload...so I figured I would just copy paste it here. Sorry you had to reupload. You are 100 percent correct that a lot of Americans did not think Japan had the nerve/guts to attack the USA, and an even larger number of Americans...especially our leaders...did not think the Japanese were capable of attacking Pearl Harbor. US forces in the Pacific were supposedly on alert that war was imminent, but pretty much anyone that thought Japan might attack thought they would hit the Philippines...which they did. Even in the days before the attack on Pearl Harbor, forces and supplies there were being sent to the Philippines to reinforce the US forces already there. You wondered about whether colleges back in the 1930s made it easy for football players to get a degree...and as I understand it, they did not. There was no money in college football like there is since television broadcasting became a thing, so there was no real incentive to cheat by giving the players an easy academic life...if you wanted to play, you had to keep your grades up. Just in general, a bachelor's degree meant a lot more in those days, and it was before the post WW2 GI benefits package that sent millions of former military men to college...except for most black servicemen. They gave out far far fewer degrees at that time, so the work required to get them was generally of a much higher level than we require today. Thompson submachine gun was/is pretty accurate, due to having a decently long barrel and other factors, though it was more complex and that could make it less reliable than some other weapons, if it was not meticulously maintained and cleaned...if I am not mistaken.👍
