On Today’s episode we take a trip to the ghost town of Grafton Utah. Dating back to 1859 take a step back in time and join us on this adventure and explore this amazing town that has a great history and was also the site of several movies.

I was last in Grafton in the 80's. The opening scene of this video was taken probably overlooking property a friend of mine owned and now lives on about a half mile or a bit more from Grafton. While there in the 80's, we all walked down to Grafton because this wasn't too long after Butch Cassidy so we wanted to see where the film was filmed. It looked absolutely nothing like in this video!!! There were no historical plaques up and the place was just deserted buildings and nothing more. I don't even recall if all the buildings had window panes in them and they certainly weren't all swept up. They weren't layered in dust but did not look like this. Hardly anyone knew Grafton even existed because it is off the beaten path on a dead end road. It was fun to imagine who lived here and what they did and why they lived so far from any other real settlements. Thanks for bringing back a fond memory and I am glad to see that Grafton has been turned into a proper Ghost down and not just left to the elements forgotten in time.

Thank you Willy! 😎 We need to have a mini bike adventure this season! These places are so cool I can’t help but share them. It’s important to protect them and share the history so they are here for generations to come. We have seen to many places destroyed, vandalized and forgotten 🥲 check out # 166 for anyone that loves their pets. ☮️

Thank you. My grandfather Claudius Wood was born in the Wood House. My mother was LeOra Wood Koning. I love visiting Grafton, and I appreciate your research and historical accounts of those amazing pioneers! Walle Wood Koning

My grandmother: Margarite Dalton Wood was from Rockville. In the late ‘50’s she guided our family to Grafton. However, gramma did know about the “new” bridge so we all waded across the Virgin to visit where Grampa was born😊

Thanks Liz! I really like the history of these locations and try to learn as much about them as I can and share it. I feel that if I am going to make a video about a location or object it does not help the viewer unless there is some history or explanation about the content. Life was different then. What beautiful country! My wish has been to live there in Southern Utah, but I don’t think it will ever happen.
