Beautiful video coverage. Enjoyed it very much. The whole drive on the West coast is awesome. Love wildlife. I think birds LOVE when people talk to them.

Happy New Year to you too! 💓💓💓 We're in lock down in England too, but living in the countryside just means I've spent more time watching the wonderful wildlife out of my front window! (I'm part of the RSPB volunteer 'garden bird' watch programme to monitor local bird numbers, migrations etc.so I normally spend a good deal of my time staring out of the window anyway.) What a treat to see our little wild Roe deer family majestically sauntering across the misty hill top; and then watching all the regular thrushes, collar doves, wrens, finches, blackbirds, tits, thrushes, starlings, gorgeous cheeky little robins, and of course our gorgeous spring/summer swallows!. However, it's our gorgeous corvids, jackdaws, crows, and magpies who visit the fields, and my bird tables all day long that give me the greatest joy! This year though...It's official....we really DO have a pair of ravens coming to my back yard bird feeders...(I never fully realised just how big and boldly friendly they truly could be!) These 2 newcomers sit on my back wall with the other regulars and simply watch as I put out the food, but unlike the starlings and pigeons, they wait politely until I've finished putting out the food and retreated back inside before feeding! They never harass the smaller birds, and seem to like being near my beloved magpies! I watch all this twice a day, and my worries and sadness disappear for a little while! Stay safe and well, and I pray that 2021 will be a safer healing year for everyone! 💖🧡💛💚💙💜xxx

Just discovered your channel! Hope you post more in the future! I'm here on the east coast, but I live in that odd pocket that gets ravens as well as crows. I love all corvids in general....but yeah....my heart is with the ravens! ☺️

It is a trust and time issue, and unfortunately I can't show the best of the best cause people would try to imitate it!

Special encounters. God or no God involved... Special is an understatement. A special understanding or special moment. Held between two different beings but working or thinking as one. From the times of antiquity to now... few have shared and understood each other more than a man and a bird working together for food

I got to see my first raven fly over the other day... I thought my daughter saw a rook and mistook it.. No, flew over shouting... The shout made me spin round, see and answer. It landed in the tree in the school and by the time I got my monocular out was gone. Heard twice since.. Think he's traveling between the moors behind and the hill in front. A very nice way to start 2021

Yeah me too, but depending on where you are the sound is probably the easiest and quickest way to tell. If you're in the US or Canada, most ravens (in fact all the ravens I've worked with) don't caw.

Ravens have a different tail feathers. Its very easy to tell them apart once you check the tail feather section.

Hello I've just discovered your channel and I absolutely love it. As a child we had a raven in the family. It belonged to my older brother but it was a family pet. Name was Edgar (lack of imagination) and he was amazing. Edgar was a free flying raven and he lived in our back yard and anywhere else he wanted to go in our small town but he spent most of his time at our house probably because we fed him raw liver. Amazing animal. So, I've loved Ravens all my life. I'm posting this because I have a specific question for you. First of all, as I said, I just now found your channel and I haven't watched a single video all the way through yet so this question might have been asked and answered a hundred times for all I know but my question is this: Have you seen a Raven laugh? I want in the worst way to see a raven laugh again. Have you filmed it? This is my specific interest, laughing ravens. I remember seeing it when I was a kid and I've never forgotten it. I swear there's something magical about it. This was a big deal to the northwest natives, laughing ravens are a significant part of their folklore. Thanks

Hello Pendelton Whiskey, thanks for sharing your stories! As to a raven laughing, I have not really heard it (that I know of) from the wild birds I work with. But there was a gal in Salinas California that worked at "Wild Things" www.visionquestranch.com/html/_welcome_to_our_jungle_.html One night she was closing up and she heard two people telling jokes and laughing. Because they have lions and tigers and hyenas and a host of other exotic animals, she has to be pretty thorough to make sure everybody is out. Starting from the back of the park she made her rounds and then all of a sudden she couldn't hear the people anymore. She waited and waited and it turns out it was their one raven. Some how that bird was able to tell part of the joke, and then make the sound of two people laughing at the same time! I think we might have a number of fun videos for you. One, a short film called "Bob, Huey & Me" , there's two versions. The original was made long ago using wild birds and a SD video camera, and was made for my nieces and nephews to share our story of a raven we helped to get back into the wild. I'm betting you saw many of the same things! The 20th anniversary is HD and what I would have shot if I had a video camera back then. have fun, ask questions or add commentary, love to see hear your stories!
