"Stuff" happens. It's cool. That trip costs $100K to $300K and that money goes to saving elephants, among other things. I wish I had that $. I have dreamed of this since I was ten years old in 1957. Not gonna happen, but I am happy for the folk that are able, and their contribution to the welfare of the wildlife there.
The shooter was able to purchase everything up until that elephant was dead on the ground except proficiency with his rifle, which can't be purchased. He was obviously overgunned and under experienced with that rifle causing a flinch, it's the only way being over a foot off of the brain at rock throwing distance. Nice bull none the less.
I am so hooked on African big game. I love my whitetail, eastern turkeys, elk & moose don’t get me wrong it was a blessing from god to have been born in the US & had a father & grandfather that were hardcore hunters & made me one but the more I see of Africa the stronger the desire becomes to go and hunt a Dugga Boy especially or Eland, Kudu, Gemsbok etc. The itch just gets more intense and I’ll eventually have to scratch it. Hopefully before I die I’ll have the $ to hunt Cape Buff. They say once you hunt Africa you spend the rest of your life & all of your finances trying to get back there. I can definitely see why. A bull elephant like this is an absolute dream. Hunt of a lifetime. Thanks for posting
Reading comments it seems some folks would rather a poacher kill the elephant - sell the ivory to another criminal AND waste several tons of meat- the old bull will die one way or the other
@@maxmcqueen1196 oh ok I thought so. Thank you🙏. I live in Florida in the states lol, so obviously I'm clueless. But I watch EVERY kind of hunting there is
That guy can't shoot straight--that's the missing the broad side of a barn shot! I mean 20 feet and he couldn't put the bullet within 6"????? I'd be embarrassed to be seen on RU-vid!
Shit happens. The frontal brain shot on an elephant is probably the most difficult shot to make on any animal. You're aiming for a target the size of a rugby ball, which lies deep inside a skull the size of three refrigerators that easily absorbs trauma. That, and there's the intimidation factor which comes naturally when walking up to an elephant. The frontal heart shot probably would've been better tbh.
Agreed. He hit him in the eye!!! I understand adrenaline is absolutely pumping but you HAVE to make that shot. People can get killed!!! And obviously for the animals sake. He made up for it though
