Being basalt column enthusiasts, we couldn't miss our chance to see The Giant's Causeway at the top of Northern Ireland.
Created during the cooling process of basalt lava, these structures formed 50 to 60 million years ago.
According to Irish folklore, the coastal feature was created when giant Finn McCool hurled the boulders into the sea to create a pathway to Scotland so he could challenge his Scottish Giant rival to a duel over the fate of Ireland.
We didn't see any giants, only weird squishy water creatures.
Then before we knew it, we were back in the car, whizzing our way down to Galway, with a quick stop in Derry to see the Derry Girl's mural.
