“GIFT OF SURRENDER” What were you expecting, or were you even thinking, When you walked in through the door? Did you get a taste of bliss from that fateful Divine Kiss, And thought you’d go on as before? Now you’re stumbling torn and tattered, and it really doesn’t matter ‘Cause there’s nowhere else to go. Still you cling to all that binds you with a fear that has confined you And it’s time to let it go. Your purpose and your pride, the things you hide inside, Your desire for acclaim, Your virtue and your vice, your hopes for paradise Your failures and your shame, Everything you seek, all the things that you would keep, The views that you defend, Your opinions and beliefs, your joy and all your grief.
