Once upon a time, in the heart of the Magic Forest, there was a bustling Beaver’s village known for its remarkable engineering projects. The village was a marvel of branches and mud, crafted with the utmost precision by the skilled beaver engineers. Among them was a young beaver named Mely, whose dream was to follow in the footsteps of her father, the chief engineer, and her brothers.
However, in the Beaver’s village, only males were allowed to become engineers. In the formative years of their youth, the female beavers were endowed with the foundational skills of literacy; however, as the seasons turned, they were gently steered away from scholarly pursuits and towards the domestic arts, learning to master the intricacies of home management.
Mely, with a heart full of determination, refused to accept this fate. She would hide near the engineering classes, absorbing every word and scribbling notes. Whenever a question sparked in her mind, she would scurry to the village library, seeking answers from the engineering tomes.
Years went by, and the day of graduation arrived. Mely watched with pride and a tinge of longing as her brothers received their engineering degrees. Soon after, they left for other villages in the forest to embark on great engineering projects. As dawn painted the sky with hues of gold, Mely assumed the vital role of guardian, meticulously inspecting the village dam each morning to ensure its steadfastness against the forest’s capricious stream. It was a critical task, for any damage could lead to a disastrous flood.
One fateful morning, Mely noticed an unusual bulge in the dam’s structure. She sketched what she saw, hurried home, and began calculating. Her findings were alarming, the dam was on the brink of collapse. With meticulous care, she drafted a construction plan to reinforce the structure.
Armed with her calculations and blueprints, Mely approached her father. He was initially dismissive, but he was soon swayed by the undeniable evidence of her work. Together, they rushed to the dam, and with a mighty slap of his tail, Mely’s father summoned the village to action. Under Mely’s guidance, the repairs commenced.
Once the crisis was averted, Mely explained to her father how she had secretly acquired her engineering knowledge. Reflecting on her passion and skill, he realized that denying females the opportunity to become engineers was a grave oversight.
The next graduation ceremony was unlike any before. Female beavers, inspired by Mely’s courage, received their engineering degrees for the first time. In time, when her father retired, Mely became the chief engineer, leading the village to new heights of innovation.
And so, the Beaver’s village in the Magic Forest became a place where every young beaver, regardless of being a boy or a girl, could dream of building a better world, one branch at a time
