Thank you. What you hear is my breathing - in fact, I am singing to myself what I am playing. This is a habit I struggle with when recording videos with varying degrees of success)

Thank you! Here's what I found on the internet: The tradition in Brazil is to play it in Db, which is the key of the famous 1963 Getz/Gilberto recording with Astrud Gilberto adding the lyrics in English. However that’s not the original key! The first recording in 1962 was by Pery Ribeiro, and he sang it in G. So arguably, playing it in F is closer to the original by three semitones. The version in F is the one included in The Real Book, a collection of transcriptions from recordings carried out as coursework by students at Berkelee College of Music, which has become a “jazz bible” since its publication in the 70s. It’s probable the version transcribed was the Sinatra recording from the 1967 Francis Albert Sinatra & Antônio Carlos Jobim, which was recorded in F.* The change by arranger Claus Ogerman - who had already worked with Tom Jobim, and was working on Sinatra’s forthcoming album - was likely made to ease the load on Sinatra’s increasingly creaky pipes; most of his later recordings and concerts bear no relationship to the key of his original recordings, being transposed to let him reach the high notes.
Hi, thanks for your comment and question. We are working on graphic materials for the video. Right now I can send you a sheet with the chord progression if you give me your e-mail.
The key the song is played in has varied depending upon the origin of the recording. While the original Ribeiro version was in the key of G, most Brazilian performances use D♭ and most American versions use F. (from Wiki)
