People, you're all getting it wrong. Have some imagination, she metamorphosed into a photo, and it was like a life-given experience for her grandfather to find the answers of why she is locked into a photo until he realized the tragedy he caused to that boy who lost his dad. So, at the end when he went to save the boy from the fire, it was like making amends for his mistake and hence the grand-daughter went back to her human-self as a result of the misunderstanding that has been finally cleared up.

This is what I think the girl was actually really a photo she said that she thinks that she turned into a photo because nobody needed her since she felt like old photos which are thrown away she turned into a photo the old man has no dementia or anything he could hear her cuz he cared about her ... and then she turned into a human when the other man thrown the photo on the ground and the frame broke ... If you remember the old man falled and the photo was shining and also I think that she turned into a human when the boy was shouting her name that's when she felt that she have to come back because there are still people who needs her .. and the photo is actually pretty creepy but beautiful in the same time the facial expression is great . Had nice time watching it 😊

an inspiring crying story,i was inspired and sad about the story so i was thankful to my grandfather who took care of me until now because i was abandoned too by my parents :D

I salute the detective who helped haraboji during his low times, hurtful to think that no one seriously thinks that he is lost and needed help. We need more of her in the community tho.

These Drama Specials are getting better and better. The music was perfect. The acting was perfect. The plot was perfect. All around a great special that had heart and soul.

I thought she'll be lost forever in that photo after the man threw it on the ground and it cracked. But i believe everyone's theory about the girl who did got trapped in the photo because she feel like no needed her. Someone also commented that it was a life lesson for the grandpa. For only him to get his granddaughter back, he has to make ammends with the boy who lost his father.

is it because seyong grandfather dementia that he feels her granddaughter became a photo? and actually seyong only just runaway from home because she absent for a school, and after seyong grandfather house will destroy by developer, seyong back to her house and found out by the boy????????????????????? nice story and nice imagination but confuse me..

Seyeong was trapped under the demolished building, when she followed Sanglim. But Sanglim didn't know that the contractor was demolishing the building, because he already ran away (he was so angry). Then haraboji came, and heard Seyeong's voice. I think it was voice from the heart. (You know when your loved ones feel something bad, and you have connection to that). And the photo, i don't really know, but i think Sanglim was about to give her. (He took some of her picture, and Seyeong said it was the best picture of all, maybe it's actually for a gift?) And when Sanglim realized that there's still someone who really cares for him (Seyeong and haraboji), then he remembered that the last place he met Seyeong was at that demolished house. And he tried to find her there. Maybe?

Its such a sad movie. I cried so many times i could make a year of supply of water or rain. Andnim still crying. 😪😥😢😫😩

The girl didn't become a photo at all. The "talking photo" is nothing but a hallucination of the old man, who has DEMENTIA. This old man's granddaughter (Min- Se-Young) became friends with Sanglim at school. It turns out Sanglim's father died many years back during a demolition/re-development job. The person responsible for that demolition was the former re-development chairman: THE OLD MAN. So when Sanglim learns one day that his dad's death was caused by the old man, he wanted to TAKE REVENGE on the old man by killing his beloved granddaughter. He does this evil plot by cunningly taking the unsuspecting girl near the houses where a demolition job was going on, so that the girl will accidentally get covered in rubble. (Notice the BACKHOE at work while Sanglim and See-young were walking together?). Apparently, Sanglim wanted to make it appear like a "plain accident", so that no one would suspect his motives of revenge. Near the end, we see Sanglim wanting to commit suicide by letting himself be burned down with his house. Perhaps his conscience is tormenting him, knowing that he plotted to kill See-young as an act of revenge. After Sanglim was rescued by the old man from the burning house, he came to his senses and went back to the exact spot to save See-young from the rubble. Luckily the girl survived Sanglim's "evil plot".

HOLY SHIT THAT WAS BEAUTIFUL!!! ╥﹏╥ Review: This was a ver interesting story. One of the best special dramas i have ever seen. But there could've been some more romance between Seyoung and Sunglim (forgot how to spell their names). Other than that I loved it. This drama left me crying rivers. I like how it's leaving the audience to think many differnt theories and i believe that they are no wrong or right theories.. I would recommend this for the people who love beautifully sad and touching dramas. Rate: 8/10

When a person truly lost someone so badly, the pain can really go to the extend like sanglim boy. To the extend you will buried the pain and just live your life because you are still not dead. :(

**SPOILER** My theory is that she really did run away after her last encounter with Sanglim, as it wasn't the first time, either. Remember? She said that no one needed her and wondered whether anyone would remember her if she disappears (or something). Seyong was never the photo. Her grandfather's dementia made him refuse to believe that she had left him or had died. After all, she IS his last relative in the country. When the lady told the detective that Seyong had died, take note that the previous students from her school had said that rumors has been going around ever since her disappearance, so her death was probably a rumor, too. And when Sanglim found her, my only explanation is that she had came back because she was worried that her grandfather was still in the house before it was destroyed, and with everyone being aware of the deadline (she's the chairman's granddaughter, after all), it's not surprising that she came back on that very day to save him. I don't know how she had survived under all that rubble, though.

whutt?? This is a great movie if they didnt bring back seyeong. If that happen then i'll be thinking that it's all about the disorder of his grandfather who didnt accept the death of his grandchild why that's why he keeps talking to a frame but then, They bring back seyeong and now it's all about Magic -.- I'll give 89% because of the story. this could be 100 if they keep seyeong as a photo frame. And leave the audiences thinking that they use the frame as a sign of someone who passed away. And talking to his granddaughter because of his disorder -.-

The movie confuse the viewers because of the photo, but seyeong never become a photo. 1.Seyeong went back to the old house, and got stuck inside the house during the house demolition. 2.He (grandfarther) knew something bad happened to his grand daughter, and Sanglim could help Seyeong,thats why he kept following the Guy (who happened become close to seyeong). 3.Dementia, they just used it so the story have a twist, so viewers would thought that the old man becoming so unwell and just creating stories about his daughter, like she was missing,etc. some speculation was that seyeong was already dead. he wants to be strong, and he wants to see his grand daughter so much thats why he keep talking to seyeong picture. because of the picture he dont stop searching. 4.Sanglim never talks because of the trauma he got when his father died.. he keep saying "your grandfather kill him" he is talking about his father who died, he has this things in mind that seyeong grand father is the reason why his father died because during that time the old man was the chairman of the housing project.

i really cant understand the theory of this drama...why drama special always confuse the people...it never gets a proper ending...

At 1st I thought it was quite boring, but as I continued 2 watch it, I realised it was actually quite a meaningful novie

My opinion... I think when sanglim is being told that seoyeong 's haraboji is the redevelopment chairman, he became angry that he was being selfish and made his father dead during the construction. He didn't talk to seoyeong at the last encounter because he was upset as she was the only person with whom he usually hangs out and now she is being the granddaughter of that chairman. This makes seoyeong feel bad and she turned into a photograph to make his haraboji realize that he should be sorry to sanglim as he was the indirect reason for his father's death. As soon he realises that he made a mistake,asks him to forgive and attempts to save him, seoyeong's guilt vanished and she returned being a human. By experiencing the love of haraboji towards him(when he saved his life by risking his own life) he came back to his conscious state and started to love haraboji. And at last they all were together. And yes it was not haraboji's dementia that he could listen to his grandfather's voice but his love and affection towards her which noone else can feel.This was also proved when that old man asks his name then he confidently tells his correct name. One thing from which i was moved that when seoyeong said to sanglim that i collects that photographs (which are left behind by ppl who think they are now of no use ) to keep them as a memory so that they can be remembered. And then he clicks his picture to assure her that he would remember her always, she would never be considered as a left thing. But when he listens the truth nd stopped talking to her,then she thinks that she was useless and burden on everyone including her mother, haraboji and now sanglim too. She feels bad,upset and guilt of being uncared by anyone and what happens to sanglims father due to his haraboji. By these 2 reasons she became a photo and returns back when she realised that she was not a useless object she was being cared by sanglim and haraboji as well as haraboji also realised his mistake. And everything is fair and good now. Very touching drama. Loved it👍🏻

tbh imo the girl becoming a photo was not because of her grandfather's dementia she just became a photo on her own. that's why she was found under the rubble, it's the same place where the guy threw her and sanglim managed to find her (i ship her and sanglim hehe)

Okay so this is what I see. The grandpa has dementia and so he hears his granddaughter's voice after he found out she was 'dead'. People didn't realize that she was still alive after the abandoned house was collapsed. Sanglim found her and she was hospitalized with the grandpa. In conclusion, the granddaughter was never dead.

SPOILER ALERT The girl really became a photo. The grandpa doesn't have dementia. Before demolishing his house, it was confirmed there was no one inside. The girl's photo was thrown and broken by the demolition guy in front of the house and her body was later found under the some rubbles. She has the same last name as her grandpa because her mother was a single parent.

very weird story how the girl survive in that house giving the fact that she stayed their more than a day. and the guy is very unbelievable he already know whats happening and never report or said something?? It is really better when they make the girl truely dead in this movie

This drama making me cry

this could have been wonderful if only the story was narrated properly. from what i understand, when the two had a misunderstanding, the girl followed the angry boy. as u can see from the flashbacks, there was an ongoing tearing down of houses ( i dont know how to call it) hence there was a backhoe or something in the background while her grandpa was calling her on the phone. then after the confrontation, she disappeared. remember when she said that she didn't know what happen, what she remembered was her sight turned white and after a while couldn't move. it was because she was covered with rubble from the tearing of houses that was happening that time. so what the grandpa was talking to probably was her spirit. but what confused me so much was that it took her several days covered with stones/concretes and that could be fatal remember when she (the photo) sleep with her grandpa for how many waking up days, thats a lot of days and she could be already dead by that time without water or food. and also during the ending, the boy instantly knew where the girl was buried with rubble, why didnt he save her from the very start when he knows where she was buried or why didnt he find her after she went missing. it would be more believable if the movie's setting is one or two days only.
