When I first watched this movie was in school. The projector had a blue tinge to it. So everything looked like it had colour even though it wasn’t in the movie. Was kinda cool
The movie took a minor liberty there. It's hard for adult audiences to watch a child be placed in danger. Of course, given that we saw one infanticide occur and another one attempted, it may have been somewhat irrelevant.
I’ve always wondered what goes on this house, where it is, and what time period this is in. Ever since I watched the movie for the first time i think about it a lot. It weird because I feel like I’ve been there before. I believe in the book when the giver gives Jonas the memory of Christmas this is what is going on inside the house. It looks like by what Jonas is wearing and the sled he is on, maybe the time period in the 1940’s. In terms of the setting, it looks and feels like somewhere in the northwest US, like maybe Vermont. It just feels so peaceful altogether.
they have to altar his age in the film when it comes to switching to a film not every book based movies are gonna be exactly alike in the books. Example: in Twilight the last movie (Breaking Dawn: Part 2 ) theres a fight near the end of the movie but in the books theres no perspective of the fight, they just go there and peacefully talk it out.
After watching the movie tell me your thought about living in a Utopia world. What if vou did not have the choice to be who you are. • Do you agree with this type of life why or why not? • How would you feel if you had no memory of things that existed prior to your knowledge? (Bad events, love, child birth, good events, etc.)??
@@myal27 I was complementing the composer's chosen piece of inspiration (Vivaldi's Winter 2nd movement) for the purpose of having the same theme of "the fun side of snow" and the exploratory atmosphere like Vivaldi had done in his Winter 2nd movement. It was a very fitting choice because of jonas' curiosity of exploring the world and it's textures (In this example from the movie, snow texturing the ground). Jonas is so in awe and hooked to the idea of exploring the world of "what once was" that he eagerly pulls up the chair closer to the giver even when the giver suggests going for a walk two times. I do appreciate you uploading this scene to RU-vid since it's one of my favorite scenes in cinema and no one else has uploaded this specific scene. Thank you very much for uploading this scene.
I would recommend the library first. Most libraries would have the book on physical, ebook or audiobook and if they don't have it, you can request one for free if you have a library card (which is free too).
