Add back the Red War story Add back the Forsaken story Make the New Light experience easy to follow

There are people in my clan who have purchased expansions, but can’t do dungeons with us because they don’t have all the dungeon passes. It shouldn’t be that way. If you buy the game, you should be able to play the whole game.

For me, the reason I started playing this game is that they gave beyond the light expansion for free. This made me excited to try the game, and now I love it and play it most of the time.

I agree 100%. As a paying player every year, I don't care about this at all after a certain amount of time. In fact, i wish they'd get rid of spoils of conquest so when raid weapons get very old, non raid players can get them when older raiders dont even care about them anymore.

Open up the game for people to play, unvault content and put it back in the game for free. Remove the barrier to join in the lore and content in expansions. People will play your game if it is open and available.

Also People need to calm down. I went through the pain of getting Thorn through the old Nightfall but you dont see me complaining about people having another way to access it.

If Xur now start selling the Exotics that require Spoils of Conquest, that would be great.

I wonder if Xur will ever sell Malfeasance.. because the quest for it is a nightmare. Edit: to all players of Destiny in the replies who are toxic AF. Not everyone has time to grind on the game like you all do. People have lives and jobs, unlike some of you. Some exotic quests are just impossible to do. And I'm not having enough time to do such things. I just wish bungie would do the favor and turn around to other players who can't do the same. No limitations. Let everyone enjoy the guns or game itself to the full extent. Screw your titles and saying "quest is easy" Not everyone is good like you. Not everyone has the same "skill" like you. I'm better at pve than pvp. Drop the toxicity, damn.

Nothing has made Destiny more fun than helping my boy start his journey through the Destiny universe. Things like this makes it totally worth sticking around in Destiny. Even if I paid to get the content for myself through the years, I don't care. I want to enjoy it with my son. Having the ability to not hit my wallet twice for this stuff is a fantastic idea and I welcome it openly. I love the idea of removing the paywall for certain content after a period of time. It opens it up for me to relive the excitement of the franchise all over again because my boy gets to experience it for the first time. I remember thinking, “I have a great legendary rocket launcher, I’ll just spend these coins on the Helm of inmost light” Luckily I got the g-horn from the VOG raid chest during thanksgiving week.

Eh, I don’t feel like it’s that big of an issue. And I have the 30th anniversary pack. Let new lights have the chance to get it or people who can’t afford to spend the extra on it. Its not a big deal **edited to add** I agree about the old DLC’s and have beeeeeen sayin that. That would appeal to so many new players. And yes, I have all DLC’s. That wouldn’t bother me at all. D2 needs to stop being free to try and actually give new players access to the older content. It may even encourage them to buy some of the newer stuff in time because they’re enjoying the rest.

That's awesome that bungie sold Gjallarhorn on the 10 year anniversary of when Xur originally sold Gjallarhorn for the first time in D1.... I remember Xur selling Gjallarhorn 10 years ago in destiny 1 and hardly anyone bought it because nobody knew at the time that we were looking at a future Iconic power house Rocket Launcher that should of been bought.

The reason why new players aren't signing up for destiny 2 because majority of the content that they missed out pretty much got vaulted; Not only that, but also d2 isn't a free-to-play game. It's more like a free-to-try then cough up more than $70 (for expansions) game. Bungie could've fixed this multiple expansions ago but didn't want to.

People tend to have an ownership mentality when they purchase something: understandably and rightfully. And that goes beyond bungie or Destiny. The best option for bungie would be to offer players who have purchased these things in-game credit (eververse). It would cost bungie nothing but players would feel reimbursed and bungie could make all of that content free. Problem solved. No backlash. No controversy.

Kackis makes so many valid points that it's hard to argue against it. The only thing I regret is listening to you when you said the Ramage Onslaught hammerhead was worth getting. I grinded for it, got it. Loved it. Then realized there is another roll on hammerhead that's better 😐

Just might wanna look up the Legacy Collection they are trying to address it a little. I think everybody thought it was just a short time thing when the final shape was coming out but it's still available right now: “Embark on a cinematic story in a thriving universe and unlock access to Exotic rewards, new powers, raids, and more. Includes 2 expansions: Lightfall and The Witch Queen, as well as 4 content packs: Beyond Light, Shadowkeep, Forsaken, and 30th Anniversary.” But it's a very good point I paid a lot of those multiples not that much I caught them all on sale for friends I wanted to play with me. Right now it's on sale for 20.99 and it's regularly 69.99 so they cut a few hundred off.

As a new player that started POST SE coming out, I bought the Legacy when it was on sale for $25, which did NOT include 2 dugon keys. This included the 30th bundle and I just did this quest maybe 2 weeks ago. 2+ year old DLC's need to be $5.

Big fan of the way that content creators are starting to openly speak up about how relentlessly negative people have been lately.

As someone who already has 30th aniv dlc, I really don't care. I get free shaders for bright dust that people paid money for a year prior, so I'm already familiar with this setup.

Totally agree with you, I quit playing when destiny 2 came out and I started playing again in January this year. I've spent 250 euro buying everything and it doesn't bother me that they sell this weapon. The community needs to open more to help new players because the biggest issue is that the mechanics of the game are so unic that people easily quit. Yes make everything free older than 2 years. I'm sorry to say this, I get that it's mean; but, not valid not a real reason to be upset. this is an insane reason to complain my guy I have 30th Anniversary and I feel like I have a pretty reasonable reaction, "Cool, at least free-to-play players who cannot get a good Crux Termination have some way to make a difference in damage phases." people are angry and butt hurt about someone getting some really good fortune. It's honestly sad, there is still the dungeon, there is still the caty for Gjallarhorn. People who have the 30th are still in a better position. It's just, now free-to-play people also get a foot in the door with raids. Also, I hope that Xur ends up selling a catalyst for like Necrochasm. I want him to sell really hard to get exotics more often.

As a seasoned player, make the entire game + all DLC $70. Make our game approachable for new players and keep it healthy. I have paid for every DLC in the game, but there’s no point owning ‘exclusive’ items if I sit in a dead lobby.

As a player who bought everything I say make it all free. Yes even final shape and the new story stuff. I have had 10 years of fun from that money. Let people catch up for free to keep the game I love alive

It's hilarious people are getting bent out of shape when this is EXACTLY how it went down in D1. Xur just randomly sells it once and then never again, and if you missed it you have to do the dungeon/raid.

As a destiny 2 player, our community online is the most joyless, complaining, babies. You guys get angry at bungie no matter what they do, you get angry when a gun is locked behind a paywall. You get angry when you get a gun for free. You get angry when a dlc with more content than most full games costs money. You get angry if a gun doesn’t look cool. You get angry if a raid is too easy. You get angry if a raid is too hard. I’m so fucking tired of it, destiny is an amazing game, why can’t you just play it and have fun.

Point of clarification… in destiny, gjallahorn dropped just as infrequently as vex mythoclast. I don’t remember if the quest began as a random letter in your mailbox as so many other exotics. What I do remember was some raid teams would not let you in on crota’s end unless you had it. I also remember a clan member endured months of everyone else having it and then finally getting it. Xur sold it the next day, and he quit the game… never to return. 😂😂

I remember working my ass off to get the Gjallarhorn when it was 1st released. I only played solo back then and I wasnt as good of a player as I am now so I can remember the grind and pure frustration of trying on my own to acquire this legendary Exotic Rocket Launcher. Grasp of Avarice was the very 1st Dungeon I played and solo'd (Could not manage a flawless back then) and the thing that motivated me to do it was the mighty Gjallarhorn. Since then I've solo flawless'd every Dungeon in the game but Grasp was when I dipped my toe in. So after saying all this, yeah it kinda irks me that people can now waltz on over to some random vendor and just purchase it but its not the end of the world or something to get angry over. But this is not a money issue for me at all and handing over a weapon like this for free will take some of the prestige out of it.

Rick you made a valid point. Bungie made all DLC free to play for an event a year or so ago, and a friend who bought me into Destiny 2 then quit, came back. He also bought his girlfriend. I had to guide them because he quit because he didn't know how to start Destiny 2. Now when that free event ended, they were both salty about paying that $250+, which they did over time, but now they're still playing Destiny 2! I really thought they would quit again. 😮

FF14 adds a new expansion to the free trial every time an expansion comes out. Currently, only the 3 most recent expansions require a purchase. Expecting new players to catch up by buying all the previous expansions (and YOU CANT EVEN PLAY THEIR RESPECTIVE CAMPAIGNS), is just unhinged to me. I completely agree with your take.

In the situation Bungie is in, absolutely every DLC should be free and you should be able to buy every Exotic from Xur. If it goes on like this, only some KWTD guys will play D2 until the servers get shut down. Destiny 2 needs players ASAP.

Additional information that is missing in the video. 1 - Beyond Light Campaing and Stasis classes were made Free to Play when Final Shape released. 2 - The Legacy Collection (2024) is the same that buying LIghtfall, Witch Queen, Beyond Light, 30th Anniversary, Shadowkeep and Forsaken. As a returning player, who played Forsaken and Shadowkeep then quit. To get access to all content available, I had to pay: (Using CAD for the sake of simplicity) $26.24 for Legacy Collection (2024) $93.74 for Final Shape + Annual Pass $120 for most content. Then a couple more to buy Silver for WQ and LF Dungeon Keys. I believe it would be less daunting, if they just listed the Legacy Collection and either offered a discount for each content already available on your account or give a Silver Bonus for them. Also, 2000 Silver for Legacy Dungeon Key is overpriced. It should give access to all WQ/LF Annual Pass for that price, at least.

People paid to get Ghorn years ago when it was new and relevant and the ability to use it when others couldn't until now. Getting it for free years later is just an example of depreciation.

Y'all forget that buying everything list, is an over exaggeration, if you're buying Legacy Collection, you don't need to buy the dlcs, or vise versa, secondly, no point keeping the atheon emote and both Silvers, and 1 FS because who's paying for both standard and annual pass, we go from 421.38 to 119.98, and that's excluding the dungeon keys, so, I've just proven everyone wrong that it costs $400 for D2

In my opinion Bungie should treat the Destiny mobile game as a starting off point for the Destiny franchise..... Anyone that gets the game should start off at power level 1, they should learn about the game get there power level up and than once they get to a certain point with there power level bungie should allow a players mobile character to be ported over to the full D2 experience on Console and PC.... Basically what i'm getting at is bungie should use The Destiny Mobile game as a starting off point for New Light players to eventually join the Destiny 2 world this would pull in some new players. P.S. I agree with you making every DLC free that's older than 2 years old is a smart idea for Bungie.... Bungie should listen to you Kackis.

ESO has been successful using their sub service that includes all the older DLCS. It gets players into it, and excited for new DLC once they play through the older stuff

Blizzard released The War Within and made everything that came before it, free with purchase of the expansion. It’s the best idea I’ve seen. If you buy the new expansion, everything else is free.

Absolutely Rick! As a solo player who returned from a long hiatus, the idea that I should have to pay for an expansion that doesn't even include the campaign anymore... that's been a huge pain point and creates trust issues... how could they be charging the price they are for a part of the package? Feels like a neglected item in the store that should have been removed but wasn't. I can't imagine recommending to a friend a game that includes that level of a huge pay barrier to play entry. I did buy these expansions when they dropped in price below $5 to get access to the exotics but even then I hated doing it for the message it sends to Bungie, i.e. it's OK to do this.

At this point, it’s hard for me to imagine bungie doing anything that at least part of the destiny community doesn’t complain about. This reaction in particular is a real bummer though, because I agree bungie should be doing more of this rather than less

I 100% agree with making every 2+ years old DLC free to play, Final Fantasy 14 Online does it like this too. I think the Dungeons that came out 2 years ago should be free as well.

I got back into the game at the right time. I stopped playing 2 days after release. Got back into the game in April of this year and seen all the DLC were 55% off

Fun fact: Years ago Curse of Osiris and Warmind came out. Players bought that and I think it was when Forsaken came out or around that time, Bungie made those expansions free. People who purchased these were not happy. Bungie have a little package to those who did buy it before hand. I get that this is different as Forsaken and Shadowkeep are years old. I honestly don’t care at this point. I purchased them experienced the year and moved on. I can honestly say if they only made the subclass expansions cost something and the others free, I doubt much money would be lost at this point. But then we got dungeons, so idk.

Kackis I think you are on the ball, I believe it should be two options for Bungie: 1) do what you explained and make old DLC's free or at least bundle them into affordability range like Forsaken, Shadowkeep, Witch Queen and Beyond Light for $69.99. At least with the Bundle option Bungie can make their whatever amount on it and the new or old players can get all 4 DLC's one shot and enjoy it. 2) bring back the old campaigns and raids. I used to play D1 religiously back in the day, then I focused on school and hockey and whatever else I had going on at the time. I got back into D2 during Lightfall when I had quite a bit of free time and missed the taste of Destiny. One thing I noticed on forums and social media was how good the Red War story was, and so when I saved up my money for D2, it shocked me when I found out that essentially half the game's story was vaulted. I feel if they brought back the old storyline and old raids (don't know if there was any raids) that would not only bring back older new players like myself but also bring in new players so they can spend their long hours on the campaign. I agree with you too Kackis, the D2 community can be very meticulous on what they choose to hate and speak up about or what they choose to slide by. I have yet to complete a D2 raid since starting in 2022ish and 85% of the reason why is because other players are too impatient and are not willing to teach or support because they are raiding to get red borders or exotics and they get mad that I have never done this before. In my mind I think sometimes too like "if you have been playing for so long how come you haven't gotten this stuff yet?" or "what if you were in my shoes and am a new player trying to experience raiding for the first time and you have a few people that just leave because you're too slow?" but it doesn't matter what I think because they simply are only in it for themselves which sucks because this can be such a deterent for new players or players that finally choose to do a raid and not play solo all the time. Overall I think Destiny as a game, as developers and as a community need a bit of work. Some of my favourite moments in gaming were from D1 like Taken King or Wrath of Machine or even Trials but D2 has not been able to live up to it and I think for a lot of other players the feeling is mutual.

I've paid for all of the DLC. I've played it all. I got my money's worth. I'm happy with it. If they give it away now... NO PROBLEM. Nobody new to the game is going to pay over $300 for the game. Bungie is preventing Bungie from fixing this game, not us being upset because bungie loves to suck all the money they can from us.

I did buy Shadowkeep and had access to Gally from the start. And Xur selling it for some strange coins on the tenth anniversary of when he first sold it is nostalgic and cool as hell.

My issue is: Just make the DLC free man. None of this one weekend, if you snooze you lose crap, and when player engagement is so low. Still charging people because they took a break and missed this feels scummy. I don't even mind that I paid for it, that was three years ago and I got my money's worth looong ago. This game just has a disgustingly convoluted paywall that almost instantly turns off new players, and it's an anniversary DLC, on another anniversary of Bungie's, the timing AND logic behind making it free couldn't be better.

I was a day 1 destiny player. Bought the ps4 destiny edition. My clan was the first to flawless vault of glass. I played D2 for awhile also. Bungie can never get me or my clan back. We are finished like millions of others. Emphatically F you Bungie.

In D1, pulled my Gally out of one of those first chests in Crotas End, just before you go and do those lanturn things. Didn't even freak out, just laughed. That and seeing people getting a Gally at the end of a crucible match were some of my favorite memories playing D1

The only actual issue i have with this notion is that if there are new players to start after xur leaves, they will basically be forced to wait until xur eventually sells it again or they will be forced to buy the dlc from steam to get it which at this point nobody will want to pay money for something that has been known to be for free at this point. The people who paid for the pack complaining can get over it, this literally isnt the first time this has happened. I mean look at the game itself! I pre ordered and paid for the destiny 2 collectors edition bundle and the game is free but im not mad about that. I think if they are gonna commit to having xur sell gjallahorn they either need to make the dlc free or add gjallahorn to the chest loots from raids or something because at this point nobody should be paying for that pack from here on out.
