THE GLACIER EXPRESS - World’s Slowest and Switzerland’s most Elegant as well as Mighty Express train.
In this Exclusive content of the Glacier Express train journey, we present the summer season view of the route starting from St. Moritz till Chur train station, in 4k 60fps resolution. Like our exclusive content of the Winter season journey, we will also release other sections of this train's journey, from Chur till Zermatt, in more parts (videos).
We board the Glacier Express train at the famous town of St. Moritz, and pass through many beautiful mountain villages and town of Switzerland before reaching to Chur station. The Glacier Express train during its ~8 hours long journey takes you across the Swiss alps between St. Moritz and Zermatt regions, passing through narrow valleys, tight curves, 91 tunnels, and over 291 bridges including the unique Landwasser viaduct (UNESCO site). It climbs up to the 2044m elevation (Oberalppass) to the glistening Glaciers. During its journey, it halts at Samedan, Filisur, Tiefencastel, Chur, Disentis/Mustér, Andermatt, Brig, and then Zermatt. Chur is the lowest altitude of this legendary train's full journey, and Oberalppass is the highest point.
With its ultra clean, over-height panoramic windows, the Glacier Express opens up unobstructed views of pristine Swiss landscapes. It offers a journey for the senses and one to remember lifetime......Watch and enjoy. More in the next parts.....

Thank you for a very interesting video. For me, the most important part of this video is the numerous graphics giving information regarding fares, meals etc!

Good choice to film the journey from the back of the train: this way we can see the many curves on the Glacier Express 👍 The image quality is excellent and it looks as if the camera is not filming from the inside through the window but was attached to the outside of the car (magnetic?) That would also explain why the outside noises can be heard so clearly, such as the rattling when driving on the rails or cowbells... 😊 OK, definitely NOT because I've now heard a lot of voices that definitely come from inside the car - and driving with the window open is probably impossible in the modern observation cars, at most in the older models ☺️ I don't know if you want to reveal much about your camera technology, but it could be that you use a Go-Pro - and with 8 hours of travel time, A) the camera could overheat and B) the memory card could be full at some point - if it's attached to the outside of course you can't just change the memory card like that... 🤔🤔 I really liked the first part, and the travel information about the costs etc. was great - the Alpine railways are of course one of the highlights for an interested train traveler because of the varied landscape 🤗 Thank you for showing it and best regards 🖖

You are so welcome. Glad you enjoyed it. 😊Thank you for your kind feedback! Technical information isn’t shared as that’s our USP. We have been receiving a good number of emails from Switzerland as well as from outside asking about our technical details 😉

This has been a fantastic video and I am wondering when part 2 of the" Summer Series" will come out? Also there is something that I notice with most of the train stops there are sets of stairs that go up and down on both sides and it seems I read that is so passengers can move to one side or the other one side of the track is that how that works? Do they come out in other places say if a passenger is going to business or house or something. Thanks!

Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks. We will release Part 2 of the summer series during the next month (if response to this video is good enough 😊) Regarding your question: can you tell us the time stamp/s when you have seen those stairs? We may better understand your question then.

@@AKSense I am not the best when it comes to computers, smartphones etc. so I really don't know what you mean by time stamps, but these stairs were in your video I just watched and they are at a good 90% of the train stops I've watched, now I did Google it and like I mentioned earlier it said they are used by passengers to go underneath the tracks and allow them to come up on the opposite side of the tracks and was wondering if this is the case and where else they come out at or allow passengers to go to other places, it's not the biggest thing in the world but I see people going down and up these stairs and was just curious! Thanks!

Foe seeing any glacier, I am watching the wrong segment. To me, all the screeching going on much of the time implies insufficient maintenance.

In summer season, only a short section of the journey shows the glacier region. For that winter season journeys should be watched or experienced. Regarding noise: have you considered the inclination of the track? 😉

A few more comments on the video and suggestions for future publications: At first the camera setting was perfect - because of the curvature of the route, the front of the train with the locomotive could be clearly seen. Later the camera was adjusted further to the left and it was not very attractive to see retaining walls, bushes and trees running parallel to the route... 🫤 Perhaps the wide-angle camera could be positioned so that if not the locomotive then more of the carriages in front of it can be seen when the route is straight for a longer period... Constantly adjusting the camera position over the entire length of this journey is certainly very tiring and would require a lot of advance planning... 🤔 Where a Cab View ride can easily show views of the route to the left and right of the driver's cab, this option is not available when riding in the train. You've probably already planned in advance which side of the passenger carriage offers the best views on the journey... It would be very helpful and certainly welcome to have the place names displayed when passing through towns and train stations, especially when, as is often the case, little or nothing of the tracks can be seen! Many railway channels also display additional information, for example when lines turn in or branch off - I would also find that a helpful option! You are not an exclusive railway channel and your content is broadly based on general tourist content - and it would admittedly be an additional effort to research this information and then add it to the video, including chapter markers for longer videos! 🙄 Are or would only be suggestions and I hope you've stuck with it this far 😉😄 I would be delighted if you would give me a positive review and am already looking forward to the following parts... Best wishes 🖖

Ohh here is more critical analysis by you 😅. Thanks for your kind feedback. Appreciate it. 😊Regarding technical suggestions: we can’t incorporate them as per audience wish. We do it as per the real time situation and scenarios at that day and time. There are no options of retaking the shots like one does while filming in a studio or so. These are motion videography……almost all the audience don’t even have an understanding of the complexities of such filming and planning required, which may absolutely flop on the main day of the journey. Contrary to many audience, I am glad that you have considered ‘some’ technical difficulties here. Some suggestions aren’t incorporated on time just due to the lack of time to invest here. In some videos, you can find more information and in some almost none. All varies as per our real life situation. Actually, earlier we had been adding quite a bit of information in our videos but we didn’t see enough appreciation for our work (due to lack of significant comments). It is all in the psychology. When things are better as per people’s comfort, they relax and enjoy and hardly make an appreciative comment. However when they don’tlike something in the video, they pop up very fast to write a negative comment. Sometimes, we can’t even understand why someone has disliked a particular video which has a lot to appreciate 😊 but we know that “different audience different expectations”….with that life moves on. Not to mention, no one wants to pay or donate a bit for the work they are enjoying absolutely free (except watching some ads, which some also complain about 😅) This is our feedback in short. 😁 You will see some suggestions incorporated and some not…depending on the video and our available time. Keep writing and commenting :) Have a wonderful day 😊🤗
