Glenturret for years have been the maiden aunt of the whisky world - yearning to be loved but being oddly shunned. With some new folks at the helm Glenturret has transformed itself into a desirable malt whisky with distinguishing features - not just the sharply angled bottle, but the actual whisky within.
As with a lot of the folks that cleared the online shelves of the stuff, I cast my eye onto the stuff due to one of @Aqvavitae 's recent streams (link below) and have been getting to know the malt over the course of a couple weeks. It's a bold and confident entry, bottled at 46% and lacking filtration or lipstick, more of the distillery character is given centre stage. As the bottle may have hinted already - this isn't an everyday sipper (though it's a real and present danger regardless) but an altogether more special whisky for a select occassion - a birthday, wedding, or just getting through a Zoom meeting without calling your boss a massive...
