Hmm. I'm not buying the whole claim that local communities have benefitted more than lost as a result of the mine. The investments into the community are pittance compared to the profit the corporation gets and the damage done to ecosystems with rich biodiversity as a result of all the drilling and digging. I will believe a corporatioon is doing well when I see an INDEPENDENT assessment of environmental impact and effect on local communities. Btw, you don't need to create dependence on Australian cattle or lamb to get dietary iron. That just creates a market for Australia for its agriculture. I get plenty of iron with a cheap iron supplement that is plant-sourced. I can see the holes in the claims made in this interview just based on what has been said. This is in no way an objective assessment of the environmental impact. Nope.
And this is why I have shifted funds into companies with Copper projects I think will be developed and see production before the decade is done .. NCX:TSX ANX:ASX ... and explorer INTR:TSX high Cu grades from surface ...they might well have discovered a commercial Copper deposit of SIZE ..

Do you really consider that Chile is a high risk country for mining businesses? As far as I know, it has stronger institutions and the rule of law is more guaranteed than any other country in South America
Countries should own their own resources and bring in companies if they don't have the tech or money on a service base. Then there would be less turmoil in the world.
Providing enough Copper to enhance the Economy, needs supplies. The BRICS Trade Union now introduces Trade Union, to enable the Developing Nations to get fair prices. The promotion of EV sales looks like it never will prove equal to the Hype. The Vehicles cost more than Wages provide. Mas Transit seems to be the new Transportation direction.
