Kento Nanami is my favorite character in the series. He’s just a man who’s trying to secure the bag and held down be people above him. He’s relatable character with really relatable problems that many people have to deal with on a daily basis.
I get sad thinking that he probably still went to the bakery as a sorcerer and now that he's dead the bakery girl is probably Wondering what happened to him
Nanami for me and one of the best characters in the series,So much so that I only started to love the series when it appeared. He is one of the few who treats children like children.
Yeah! For once in a shounen, kids aren’t just child soldiers! Nanami actively reminded Yuuji that not everything is always his responsibility and that the adults around him should be the ones to ultimately be in control of the situation. “Being a child is not a sin” That line solidified the fact Nanami is a wonderful character. He’s cold and calculating on the outside, but he well and truly cares for the people around him even if his face barely showed it. Rip Nanamin, couldn’t escape the trope of fatherly figures perishing in front of their protege’s eyes
Thank you for this!!!!! This is why I love him so much! He is like the only sensible person in Shonen anime PERIOD! When he hit me with that line I got chills because he is was of the rare few adults who acknowledges that these main characters are CHILDREN! And that even though they may be strong adults are supposed to be there so that they don't have to be. Sorta like Awizawa in BNHA.
plus the way he went out was fantastic. it was awsome, sad, showed his power but also he went out with a smile looking cool as fuck. not alot of cherictors get that type of send off
Kento = build man = man who builds the main character. That's why he's the mentor character to Itadori. Also Nanami: Nana = 7, mi can refer to mitsu = 3 as well.
Nanamin is the equivalent of that serious students who works nine jobs. Is captain of the school football team. Spends his free time working out and helping charity. Helps you out with your homework in exchange of leaving him alone. And most importantly never smiles. God I love Nanamin.
I love Kento because he’s logical but not irrationally logical where he doesn’t understand normal people or emotions. He’s just very meticulous and has no tolerance for anything that will waste his time or make him have to put more effort in than necessary. A man of principle like myself.
He’s honestly the most respectable adult figure we’ve seen so far in the Jujutsu world. As much as I love Gojo, he tends to do a lot of reckless things with the kids while Nanami tries to take on as much of the responsibility and burden as possible.
His death was super sad when I read it, because he is another person that Yuji cared about and died in front of his eyes by the same pos of a curse. Cant wait to cry myself to oblivion when that part gets animated.
Yea the deaths on shibuya was great and very well done for me especially Jugo he got praised by Sukuna then realised that his goal was to become human or something similir is pretty sad also Nobara I guess if she dies that was pretty decent death
@@kimguir303 I hope nobara will be fine. Because she still have a chance to survive, yet. Too many character get outfight by special grade like todo. Too bad he cannot using his boogie woogie anymore. But he might can be cure by reverse technique. Inumaki also.
He actually talks a lot of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga in his Twitter account... and with the anime being so popular now, well it's a smart move to do a video about it.
"Kento" means "cure for depression " or "rise of happiness". Welp, there you go folks. This explains why Nanami is everyone's comfort character and why you could feel such reassurance coming from this man
@@ShockWithoutFear with how the current arcs going theres tons he can do. Mechamaru like you said. The kid with the hand sword. Plant curse and volcanoe curse too. Megumis dad would be an awesome vid
I like how your covering characters from the manga, and this character is my favorite characters in the series because I can feel his voice when he’s drawn and speaks. It’s a shame that pepole only cover the series because it’s animated now. I have to read the manga again because I forgot most of the names so I can’t suggest many more charecters. But I would like you to make one of these videos on the shapeshifter guy that can turn into animals. Mahito, that’s his name.
@@superblanco444 Mahito is definitely more unhinged, he's the meaning of a curse who represents the side of humans who never open that side up, every bit of negativity and absolute destruction is what Mahito loves to represent
A part of me feels there is also possibly a connection between his techinque and being a working man, because I am used to jobs where you start at 7am and end at 3pm, so a 7 to 3 worker if you will.
When you don't have a father figure then you get even more attached to him. When he told Yuji "Being a child is not a sin" I literally cried, Gege really mastered this character.
After seeing how his old partner used to be, personality wise, I can see why he was so distant and abrasive to Yūji when they first met. They're eerily similar and he didn't want to get attached again. Itadori still had that bright-eyed innocence and he wanted to protect it. It's very sad yet sweet.
I'm thinking about the fact that the first time Mahito tried to change Nanami's soul nothing happened... Indeed, Mahito said too him that he protected unconsciously his soul. In my opinion, it's just the absolute example of the will of Nanami to protect people. Is genuinely a kind person and that means his soul is well built, so hard to destroy. The thing that is telling me this is because Mahito already said that he could kill Itadori's soul many times, and this because Yuji is still young and learning, his soul is still WEAK instead of Nanami's.
At 0:31 I notices Nanamis watch wasnt a generic watch sketch you see in most mangas. With further examining I was able to identify it as TAG Heuer Carrera Calibre 16 Chronograph ref CBK2110. You can distinctly see the sub dials at the 12,9,6 the Lyre lugs, and 3 link bracelet and most distinctly the shield emblem next to the framed date widow baring identical look to the Tag Heuer shield logo. Akutami proves a true love for design.
Little Easter egg: nanami can also be understood as "nana" =7 and "mi" =3 referencing his technic. Also Nanami's haircut is called "shichisan" which means 7 and 3 too (because the hair is separated in a 7/3 ratio)
Everyone who only watched the anime loves and idolized gojo so much but those who read the manga knows how great this man is and heck just when I made Nanami as my husbando coz he's cool af, he suddenly... He suddenly... Damn it Gege Akutami!!
its so unfortunate how he had to die, it bothers me most knowing that if he wasn’t in the state he was when mahito ran into him, he would’ve lived. rip the most relatable character in the series
I'm glad and upset that introduced such as well rounded and likeable but flawed character but still kill him off. They couldve just made him the perfect teacher character, killed him off and called it a day but the balance between negative aspect of their personality with the minuscule positives really make them likeable. Even with the advance curse spirits. Arrogant, annoying but with that slight spark of likeability, with the exemption of Yuji who is all around a decent person, makes you like them more.
I feel like Nanami was underused in the Shibuya arc, I was hoping to see a fight where he used his techniques where it actually mattered, my man instead got burned and dismembered by Mahito😥
I'm still so sad about his death, I really love his story but at the same time I wish we got more time with him, he was such a good character. He radiated such dad energy 😭
Boy am I glad this series is getting the attention it deserves. Been reading it for over a year now, and I’m glad I’ll have more people to talk about it with.
The 'mi' in 'Nanami' is also homophonous with the native Japanese word for three, which is 'mi' (that character can be found in Miwa's name). So, Nanami's last name fully references the Ratio Technique if you read between the lines.
Idk if you'll see this but I just wanted to mention "mi" can be another reading of 3, being called the kun'yomi reading. This makes Nanami literally mean "seven three" instead of 7 sea. Just thought you might like to know :)
i never made the connection that his family name ties into his ultimate goal. i always thought it was a reference to his Danish heritage as his grandmother would've immigrated across the sea. thank you for making this video nanami is amazing and i hope this video helps get people into jjk
One thing I particularly like about those kinds of videos is the part of breaking apart the name. Like the individual meanings of the single characters. Now I'm wondering...is there maybe a website of some kind where you can look up stuff like this? Maybe a website where you give in the name and the site translates the single characters or the other way around. Since I don't know anything about kanji and stuff, but I would like to involve that stuff when it comes to naming OCs.
For me Nanami Kento is the favourite and relatable anime character of all time. I’m 20 years old and hardly studying the stock market. I see myself end up in the same situation as Nanami did, and I see nothing wrong, working every day with no rest just to earn enough money to secure my future.
Nanami is a Character that you couldn't help but respect and look up to not because of how strong he is or how good he looks but how he just is himself .
First of all, 8-5 and 9-6 is 9 hours, 9-5 is the typical '8 hour shift. More importantly though, you missed the ACTUAL work shift which is the 'standard' for salaryman, which is... 7-3. Standard excludes overtime, which is pretty much assumed.
Nanami might be perceived as serious or gloomy by most of the other characters, but deep down he is the purest. It's said that in moments before their death people show who they really are, and moments before his death Nanami (in his extremely injured state) showed concern for all the others. He is a person who has an incredibly strong moral compass and cares deeply. Thank you Gege, for giving us such an amazing character.
I mean that’s kinda the point… it showcases how the jujutsu society is corrupt enough for terrible people like mei mei to thrive in whereas people like nanami die while on the line of duty
Hey could you possibly make one of Maki Zenin? I really like watching your videos and I think they’re pretty awesome, just asking but you don’t gotta make it.
