Like a fine wine this song gets better the older I get.

Was 19 in Melbourne when this song was released. Such an underrated band, and how they didn't make it big is beyond me. Watching this video reminds me of how good life truly was back then.

This song is underrated, so raw so full of energy and wholesomeness. Doesn't try to hide anything, down to earth roots music. A classic.

This MV reflects the feel of the song, both lyrics and music, better for me than the other video. Having them walk through the actual streets of Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane evokes both the sadness of the words and the sunny feel of the music. I wish this had been the big hit the Go Betweens were hoping for, but we still have their songs to remember them by.

I grew up in the 60s and still think it was the greatest decade of music ever, BUT this song is a timeless classic that is perhaps one of my top 5 all time favourites. The Go-Betweens were brilliant.

I saw the band live in October 1988 in the Beurschouwburg in Brussels, Belgium. What I remember of this concert was that the band were the 5 people that can be seen in this video. Great memories.

Never heard this song played in New York radio stations back in the 80s. But it sounds nice. It would have done well should they had played it in the USA.

Didn't hear much of Go Betweens. Liked what I did. Love this song, and so much prefer this video compared to #2. Reminds me of others across time and location that highlighted something real from the place they were playing from.

I like to try and guess which city it is as the scenery changes with this music video. The bits of Brisbane I see are the Brisbane of my childhood.

Detroit is home for me now - and New York City (in Midtown Manhattan) as soon as I can afford it. Not Surry Hills, anymore. Time flies and we can't get it back. No point in going back. And, yeah, London is crap, especially for those working in a creative field like indie music.

I was 16 and couldn't wait to move to Melbourne and be this cool. Before the internet & social media. As the guy in the comments said "I Want To Go Back To There" Then again it's hardly a utopian song. The threat of violence was always an undercurrent.
