We're all in a thrash to get the 1933 Dodge running today!!! Bad Chad and Doug are going to run the gas line while Nathan wires it up. We're still waiting on a few parts but we're not going to let it stop us from firing it up.

I think It’s cool that you build every different genres of car Builds! I appreciate the fact you are building a “RAT ROD”. Just build a car out of anything and make it go. Many of us car builders forget that genuine fun! Like being a kid again.

If you run 12 volts to the distributor the points won't last very long. It needs to have a ballast resistor or resistor wire. 9 volts is what they normally get.

If you really want to ‘use what you already have’ , and stick to that theme, you can take pieces of rubber and split them and wrap them around the gas line and put them inside of the little straps that held condensers down to the points plate in older cars. Some are soldered to the condenser but some just slide off and that’s the ones I’m speaking of. The cool part is listening to people when they spot them and identify what they’re made of ! ha ha! “Looky there! that’s a condenser strap! This guy must be tighter than Dick Tracy‘s hat band !”🤣🤣🤣

You should put in a relay switch going to the ignition switch for the radiator fan you don't want to run a constant 20 amps through the ignition switch when it burns out the ignition switch your going to be stranded wherever you are not only that if you are driving down the road and the ignition switch part of it burns out and the fan for the radiator stops working and you don't see or notice that the engine is overheating and the engine stops running and the engine is blown up. An ignition switch is not made to handle lots of amps all the time that's why your starter has a relay switch. I know I would not drive or ride in that car until a couple of things are fixed and changed

I think you need to put a fire wall between the boot and the driver compartment because of the fuel tank to race it

Dough is a totally nice guy and a pleasure to work with. With all the money this man makes on videos you would think he would add at least a two post lift and some real safety equipment in the shop. When was the last time anyone has seen a fire extinguisher? Here's a thought gas fumes trapped in that closed space on a hot day.....that close to the battery, What could happen?

He does have fire extinguishers. He has a two post lift outside. His ceiling inside I think is to low.

Not sure if i should point out this is not the channel to give a free health & safety lecture to & ask if others have spotted the fire extinguiser x3 in the shop or your main concern about Dough & not the rest of the crew. Watch again for Dough to say i'm going to drink until he pukes, i think it is adults enjoying life & not to be taken too seriously.

Bad, it seems to me you guys could really use a complete tap and die set. If you want to reuse your original fasteners, just take a few moments to chase the threads on both nuts and bolts. You won't believe how sweet your final assembly will go.

The Grill shell and headlights turned out perfect! I don’t think it looks bad with the frame horns out in front since they’re connected with a pipe at all. That’s the way the old try five Chevy guys did them. Me included! Although I had my uncle Don Weld mine in because I wasn’t a good welder yet at 15 years old.

If you mount a section of 1/2" hollow pipe in the vise appropriately 2' long you can pull the curved fuel line through it and it comes out straight.

That gas line tubing, looks suspiciously like its a 5/16 inch steel brake line tubing, that was laying around. Resulting in fuel starvation for the V8, since most fuel is at least 3/8 inch tubing, not much for fuel supply to go racing.

No drive today. There’s always tomorrow. Chad, I know that no one likes rework but man I would cut the passenger side of the tunnel and tighten it up so that seat can be installed properly. It will bug you every time you think about it. When talking to the passenger you have to look back.

A gas can for a tank and a motor that's about a foot and a half too high and most ridiculous console height I've ever seen and one seat has to sit back farther because the door won't close!!

I was thinking that you could use a Kubota alternator as they are so small and you can use a Kohler voltage regular for your charging system. Hope this might help.

Chad , Jolene, Nate and Doug, , Thank You All for the entertaining episode , providing all your viewers with some of the final work that needs to be completed to be able to fire up 1933 Dodge Race Car. Nathan's explanation of the basic electrical wiring was excellent . The banter between Chad ,Nate and Doug was hilarious, in attempting to complete the mock up to fire her up . Jolene did a fantastic job of capturing all the details of today's activities. She'll be running tomorrow . Hopefully us fans will be able to see Jolene behind the wheel of her race car.

NOTE - The gas line support put in at appx. 30:01 is very close to the large nut. It might make it difficult to get a socket on the large nut should it ever need to be removed.

That’s where my 68 Chevy truck tank is. It would be hard to rupture it unless you hit it in the side with something pointed. They did that for years and Chevrolets and some other vehicle’s

This car is a bomb going somewhere to explode. A strap on gas tank OK a good idea . Installed so close to a uncovered 12 volt battery not so much. Maybe going for a Darwin award.

It's a flathead ford v8 the center 2 exhaust valves share the center exhaust port

You guys should grab a newer Volvo and chassis swap that old one and have a new style fuel injected Volvo all modern underneath and hidden.

@joe sousa they have single phase 120v 34" tube axial fan if your shop can handle 3 phase. I installed two for my downforce paint booth but usually use just one. Like i said sure made a big difference in mine.
