I was working on this alongside the Trails review, so that's why it's out so soon. Also, despite what I said in the video, timestamps were moved to the description. That is all.
I just picked up God Eater 3 yesterday and I panicked from the intimidating overload of new terminology. Was looking up guides online but even those weren't very newb friendly. It's thanks to your clear and simple explanations that I've finally found my footing in this amazing series. Seriously, thank you. :D
What convinced me was not only the fact that you used the RU-vid section thingy, but that you give excellent summaries at the end to wrap things up. Very well written and thought out. Hope you do the same for the other Bandai anime games like Code Vein or the upcoming Scarlet Nexus
Thanks for the response, glad it helped. I do plan on covering Code Vein in the near future, though I'm not sure if I'm going to give it a full-fledged beginner's guide like I did for God Eater.
That bullet editor truly is a beast in of as itself. I tried a guide for Quick Draw mission in GE3 and goddamn...the most confused I've ever been that day.
This video convinced me to purchase the entire God Eater franchise, which, fortunately, is currently on sale on Steam. Thanks for your helpful video; you've just gained a new subscriber!
Yo you just saved me from the hell hole of me finding everything out especially since I've come from 5 generations of monster hunter where you have to craft armor to improve your defense so this really helped me out
I quit the game after awhile since the gameplay was becoming frustrating for how long missions were taking and the amount of healing I needed to do. The elemental dmg stuff and def stats of shields you explained honestly made me want to try out the franchise again. I almost never block but was using a buckler. Going to try again with a tower shield. :)
I would like to say something about sakuya and Kanon ONE Kanon in the game says she has a bad habbit of accidentally shooting her team mates which i love that they coded into her character TWO Kanon will heal you more often sakuya only heals if you are down to like 10-15% while kanon will heal at around 25-30% but if you dont want to deal with getting shot in the back every so often my suggestion is get good and learn the monsters and if you bring sakuya also bring your own healing supplies as again SHE WILL NOT HEAL YOU IF YOU ARE NOT LOW ENOUGH
This guide really helps a lot, coming from the newer monster hunter I'd say it's quite easy to get used to the combat pace, and your tips are a godsend since the in game database is so over the place making newcomers confused about the mechanics. Thank you very much.
Just picked up god eater ressurection haven't played the series but I like monster hunter an I wanted a game on the go on my vita so I thought I'd give it a go. Never have I ever found a more informative video in my life love the vid thank you for the info.
Gonna go through the games again to play with a new friend. Sent them this and watched this myself. I got the plat on all games and i still learned quite a bit. Absolutely great video!
I just started on switch "wish more people played online" but damn dude you have the beat video for a beginner to use ever this has been helping me alot.
I've gone through all three, not quite all the episodes of three or the pistpostpostgames of 1&2, but there's plenty of knowledge in this that's useful that i didn't know! That devour information is really useful! And that the ash aragami have cores, which i didn't know or it got brought up once and i promptly didn't notice what they were talking about so wrote it off as lore mumbo jumbo, not a game thing. And the relative ineffectivity of 3's skills! And that i shouldn't fret over the bullet editor! Oh, and the multi element weapons choosing the most effective, i thought it just split the damage. Thanks!
Something to note about elemental weaknesses for the first two games, if it's the first mission against a given aragami you can read the mission description to get info on elemental weaknesses.
Absolutely fantastic guide, super helpful. Came here to this series from Code Vein and dipped my toes into GE3. Came back a year later to finish it. I’m enjoying the game a ton more than I expected and even picked up the other two off the current PS sale. Very excited for a possible GE4 or CV2.
This is a comprehensive guide that all beginner must watch. It was at my second playthrough of GE3 before I understood what was going on. Wish I had watched something like this first.
I haven't even gotten all the way through the video yet but all I gotta say rn is thank you for this so much TLDR: My dumbass has never changed weapon types or bothered to pay attention to elements, currently stuck on a set of missions in GE2RB where I finally decided to learn how stuff works properly and not just bs my way through. I beat GER by using the same type of gear: Bustersword, Shield and Sniper. I'd just change them to higher grade stuff I thought looked cool as I progressed and just repeatedly slashed/shot my way through the game, struggled a lot on the very last fight in arc 3, but I for some reason just never switched my gear?? Got lucky though after I started remembering its pattern and beat it on try 4 or 5. GE2RB I started right after I beat Resurrection, and hoo boy I just did the same thing again, just used the same gear and never switch weapon types. Now I'm currently on the survival story mission when its just you and Livie and the last one you fight Chrome Gawain (for the first time, I'm assuming we're fighting it again). Got my ass kicked, didn't even see it start blinking before Livie lost all her endurance and I followed soon after.
Thanks man, I looked at the tips in this video. At first I didn't think that these small fixes would be of help. Then I found myself giving my allies oracle cells and adding more moves to my combos via predator attacks. I immediately see where I was wrong. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR THESE TIPS, from now on I'm going to really look at how I play combat wise and really get into upgrading my equipment more. Until then happy hunting
That's it, I'm changing my tower shield so I can stop getting devoured 4x in a row by Dromi, goddamn that mf just keeps going, just when you get out of the way around some corners he's just there again and again and again, somehow my teammates are like experts at not getting devoured, I'm always the one getting chased, probably because I'm always up in their face, where the tower shield is often too slow I've noticed, either waiting for the attack to go off missing dps or being just too late and losing 50% hp, Thanks for the guide
This was a very helpful video even for vets like me who have also put alot of hours in the god eater series, some stuff even I didnt know, like I knew you could shave off time on the Ashborn burst state by devouring them in return, however I didnt know the effect was repeatable, all this time I thought it was a one time per burst form, god that's super helpful to know, I'm pretty decent now at parrying the devours attacks, minus anubis and dromi, still kinda iffy with those two, but obviously there are times the burst form is unavoidable, esp with the ai companions are not the greatest at avoiding them, worst case being dromi but this is a helpful tip to know now for future reference thanks
Dude I really need this lol I *never* played any of the games and I literally have no idea what I am doing in missions. I am pushing some buttons but it still works lol
As a long time MH player with over 800 hours of MH4U, Generations, and Rise...im hyped to hop into this with my friend...picked up GE3 on Switch Sale for 9 bucks...can't beat it! Played about an hour last night and absolutely loving it. Feels like MH x Phantasy Star and really love how fluid and fast the combat is. Also runs amazing on Switch to my surprise. Def late to the party but thanks for this amazing guide man. All the best to you 👹🙏🔥
I have been playing God Eater for a while now (6 six maybe more) and this cover pretty much everything that I have learned from each game, pretty neat and organized obviously if you have played the games you know it is super hard to put everything in one video but this covered a lot, I wish you would have mentioned battle items (restore pills, steady restore pills, etc) since those are actually a great help for beginners and are present in every game. None the less it was a great video good work :D
@@weaponsci IKR they are so overlooked specially since in this game it's so easy to get skills, burst plug ins etc to get health regen and there is also healing bullets. But on GE3 they make builds completely different since you can forget about any and all stats enhancement skills because you can use healthboosters and the other varians and they never run out until you die.
elementals are quite important for some bosses to deal higher crit damage on its weaknesses LOL + this is hell informative for me but i like ur explanation 🤓👍
Damn broo I wish you were next to me while I first started playing 3 weeks ago 😂😂 I only looked up stuff now that I'm stuck with that Dyaus Pita 😑😑 Anyway great video mate ⚡⚡
Thanks for the guide. I honestly feel like a made a mistake playing resurrection before rage burst. Not only does the quality of life stuff make a big difference for my playstyle I enjoy the variety of predator styles more than the limited approaches with blood artes. They worked more for me because I'm not really a gun person. It honestly makes me discouraged to keep playing 2 but maybe itll pick up more
I actually agree with this, I preferred Resurrection and 3, but 2 is still pretty good. I'd say stick it out a bit longer, especially if you're fond of the new characters.
@@weaponsci havent played 3 yet but it looks like it also lacks predator styles. Maybe I just need re learn how to play god eaters post resserection lmao
I mean as a MH veteran I've been wanting to get into other games, but nothing quite has the same feel and excitement as MH. But I think I'll like God Eater though, and I wouldn't understand the game without this so thanks
For GER (And maybe GE2) Here's a simple design for a buckshot For the buck shots the main module needs to be a medium straight/point blank, the secondary module it's the medium spread module (i suggest the mastery one), and this second module need to have the junction condition of "when 1 hits" As an extra, you can make an slug with the sniper rounds, following the same base of the buckshots, i hope this helps someone
I still struggle with 1 specific thing: Partner skills. For some reason that's something that veterans knows so naturally that they forget that newbies can get it wrong. As a newbie myself, starting with ressurection and currently on difficulty 3, I still don't know if (or wich) partner skills are tied to me or not. If I go into a mission with Tatsumi, his +HP 3 skill is going to affect ME as well? And if I go with someone who has "trap stock" skill, is something that will also affect me or just that specific character will be able to use more traps than usual? Maybe the game tells you those things but since english is not my first language (as probably you could already guess at this time xD), I didn't paid close attention to it. Other than that, this video was very enlightening. Thanks for that!
No, the vast majority of the partner skills (unless it applies to the cards at the end of the mission) are for them. So for example, trap stock would increase only their trap stock.
@@weaponsci thanks for your reply! Another thing I just realized I got wrong, was the character weapons skills, I was seeing "enforcer", "reaper" and their description "it streghtness defensive/attack abilities" (just an example) but I wasnt finding how much and what exactly it was strenghtening. And then I realized it was the skills described when you press a button with that information open, at first I thought it was two different things! I had a hard time trying to find those skills name on the database! XD
Well, I played 1 in the PSP and loved the story, 2 in the PSP too and kinda went "Wait- where's everyone I knew?" and then finally 3 now and went "Wait- I was a criminal? Man, times have changed" Came here for a refresher since it's been a while and I wanna get back into the swing of things. Got my PS Vita and I wanna play em on the go since I go on the train to get to my college
Bro I remember the first got eater game I played was God eater burst on psp the amount of mechanics and big words in this game overloaded my 12 yo brain at the time I didn't understand any of the mechanics and I never beat the game
If you ever wonder which keys to press for Devouriing in God Eater Ressurection: 1. Right click and hold the right mouse button 2. Shift left + right mouse button 3. Shift left + left click + right click(in this order) 4. spacebar + shift left + right click 5. ? I don't know.
Bullet Editor nerf in 3 is fucking bullshit, so if you ever DO go through the games, enjoy the Bullets in 1 and 2... Best advice I would give myself if I'd do that again.
@@weaponsci You never really need strong Bullets in God Eater, I don't think it was ever a hard requirement to be good at the game. But there was a certain magic to make cool usable bullets to pair up with your playstyle.
Monster Hunter including G rank expansions 🤣 Watched the anime years ago and could do with a new "I'm a badass, I'ma firin my layzaaah, BLAAAAAH!!!" game, so I'm tempted.
