The gunplay in this game was excellent, the shootouts were genuinely difficult and could quickly turn against you with a few bad decisions. One of the best games based on a film ever made.
These are when video games had actual “story modes” and not just some drawn together story you can beat in 4 hours you had to play The Godfather for weeks on end and even when you finished it your still wanted to take over all the territories no games are like you finish it but you have no incentive to 100 percent the game it’s just how can we get them quickly to play online and spend money on our online BS
Yeah I agree, I remember when Black Ops 3 came out they were talking about not even having a campaign which to me sounded insane. The campaign modes are getting shorter and shorter. Red Dead Redemption is one game that had a good long story but we haven't had a new GTA in a long time because people just keep playing and spending money on the stupid online modes. I don't really find GTA online or Red Dead online to be that fun, the thing that keeps me playing most games is going through the story to see what happens, it's like playing through a movie, the online modes just have no soul.
@@americangangster1911 I completely agree with you man it’s really just sad how video games aren’t as fun as they used to be I mean I’m older now so I get it but I do enjoy a good video game story just bought mass effect trilogy when it came out thank god they re released it because overall every game is just straight to online and skip the story wish they’d release godfather even as is it’s still a great game they can keep number two though number two was a hunk of shit
Yeah the Godfather 2 game really was bad, I remember kind of liking it the first time I played through it but I tried playing it again recently and realized how bad it was. The Godfather 1 never gets old though, so much nostalgia attached to it and I'm a big fan of the movie and book so every now and then I get on a Godfather kick and listen to the audiobook, watch the movie and play the game.
@@americangangster1911 I’m on the Audiobook now it’s amazing man and I’ve watched the movies many times I wonder what happened to al Pacino he used to be such an amazing actor then post godfather he just became some yelling lunatic in all his roles though scent of a woman was really good
@@jerrycruz1709 Yeah Joe Mantegna did a really good job on that audiobook, the older recording is on RU-vid but the narrator is not nearly as good as Joe Montegna. I thought Al Pacino did good in all his gangster movies like The Godfather, Donnie Brasco, Carlito's Way, Scarface, Heat but then he started doing a lot of mediocre movies.
Glad of the likenesses and voices of some of the OG actors, though I was sad that Brando was too sick to provide his voice fully. Great game and what got me into the Godfather franchise!
All started with this game, after one week playing, I wanted to see the movies. After that, I’ve never been the same. My favorite movies, this saga and Goodfellas. I was only 14 when all started
After all these years, I've realized that Tom Hagen and Sonny Corelone are two sides of the same coin. Tom viewpoint is the ink of a scholar is worth a thousand times more than the blood of a martyr. Sonny viewpoint is it's all about the power and might and it doesn't matter who is wrong or right.
"A lawyer with his briefcase can steal more than 100 men with guns" Vito Corleone said that in the book and Tom Hagen said it in the game. " Hey Kid if you ever have 100 men with guns whatever you do don't trade them for some lawyer" - Sonny Corleone
I have a question for you..I'm a bit older now and played this game as a kid....recently I decided to play it on pc...there's a scene in the game after your character becomes a made man with Marlon Brando in the bar...and he talks about men who ask to be killed in public for misbehaving towards others....was that recorded just for the game? I was trying to find a clip of that in the real film on RU-vid and can't find it.
I forgot to add this scene, it's the only scene where Marlon Brando actually voiced Vito Corleone ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IXKr7MN7wu8.html
Were there different versions of this game for different consoles? I had it on Xbox and I am absolutely certain it completely skipped over the part where you iced Moe Green.
