From what I remember the reason Luca Brassi sounds so weird in the wedding scene of the film was because he wasn't originally gonna have a speaking role. Then he was given some lines on the day of the shoot. The scene outside was actually him practicing his lines and the director just recording him in secret. Apparently the practice didn't help so much.

It’s sad that Marlon Brando’s last performance was in a Hospital Bed in The Godfather video game. Marlon Brando did a lot of audio recordings on his death bed but only one was made into the game which is amazing that any of it got into the game.
