"I believe in America. Americans made my fortune, and I raised my daughter in American fashion. I gave her freedom, but I taught her never to dishonor her family. She found a boyfriend, not an Italian, she went to the movies with him, she stayed out late, I didn't protest. Two months ago, he took her for a drive, with another boyfriend. They made her drink whiskey and then they tried to take advantage of her. She resisted, she kept her honor, so they beat her, like an animal. When I went to the hospital, her nose was broken, her jaw was shattered, held together by wire. She couldn't even weep because of the pain. But I wept. Why did I weep? She was the love of my life, this beautiful girl, now she will never be beautiful again. I went to the police, like a good American. These two boys were brought to trial, the judge sentenced them to three years in prison and suspended the sentence. Suspended the sentence!? They went free that very day! I stood in the courtroom like a fool and those two bastards, they smiled at me! Then I said to my wife, for justice, we must go to Don Corleone..."
WOW!!! I was stationed in Sicily for two tours and this reminds me of a place right outside the base called "Momma Ilios" , Mafia looking characters came to eat pizza and purple Lambrosco wine. Your music has the same "Flavor" as that place. Very haunting and beautiful at the same time. Your tone, as always, supurb!
“Someday… and that day may never come… I may call upon you for my services. Until then… accept this as a gift on my daughter's wedding day.” -Marlon Brando as Don Vito Corleone, The Godfather
I wanna thank you all for coming out here today. We got a serious situation down in the Bronx. Our friend needs to get a message to the short man in the hat. He needs to deliver this message before the construction site contracts are handed down! IT'S OF VITAL IMPORTANCE THAT THESE MATTERS BE ATTENDED TO, SO WE MAY HAVE TO BRING IN OUR FRIEND FROM YONKERS!
Translated: I was in my room in San Francisco. It was past 10 p.m. My window was open, it was hot. The city center was slowly fading away. The music groups were gone. The silence gradually invaded the square. I was lying on my back next to my sweetheart. We were leaving for Montreal the next day. The sound of a trumpet was heard. Only one man at the corner of the street made us hear this music. Was it you Terry? It looked a lot like you. I'll never forget. It's etched in my memory.

The Godfather movies showed the love, the brutality, the corruption, the bush justice, and the "honour". When I watched the movies, I have mixed feelings. People who are deprived of justice in the "conventional" system got it from the mob. But then you owned the mob a favour forever. The love and the honour are reserved for the family, while the rest of the population suffer for the crimes committed by the mob. I really like the music in the movies, but isn't it contradictory that such beautiful music in such a brutal setting?
Right they are criminals in the end, they make money by hurting others. Unless they are truly honorable and value family, friendships and live- valor honor not in a patriarchal way
@@julianaferrone8734 Hi. Surprised that you dug up this 3-year old comments. Yes, they are criminals. They have their own code of conducts. I have watched many documentaries about the Mafia mobs, and it is most interesting if you are to follow the activities and ethics (if there is any) from the old days to the present. I am led to believe that in the old days, drugs were not a welcomed trade because such a trade has the potential to introduce the unpredictability, as drugs often do. Then the new generation of Mafia devolved into more ruthless as drug trades became a very lucrative business. What this means is that lesser and lesser discretion was observed by the gang. That of course attracted the attention of the authorities as murders became more frequent. Please enjoy your music. Regards.
I searched for the theme song and got this version. I danced alone with the flow of the song, only when it finished I read the title and realized it is a waltz.
