When we talk about races that have shaped the history of trail running, the Hardrock 100 quickly finds a special place. Created in the early 1990s, this race is tinged with a romantic history. The Colorado region, marked by the gold rush in the mid-19th century, boasts some of the highest mountains in the American territory. This unique blend makes this race a true adventure, a quest akin to what miners pursued in their time, seeking the hidden gold in the underground tunnels.
This year, French trailrunner Aurélien Dunand-Pallaz ventured onto these mythical trails, seeking not only the self-transcendence intrinsic to ultra-distance running but also new horizons. He aimed to discover new mountains while running-mountains taller than those surrounding him in the Alps, grander and wilder. Yet, he also aimed to explore an entirely different culture within a sport that seems similar. He wanted to delve into the community, to discover the counter-culture that trail running represents in the United States, the birthplace of ultra running, through interactions with local runners.
Premiere this 14th of November in Annecy at the TECHNIQUE TRAIL-RUNNING film festival
