They portrayed rose as a bubble head but damn she was brilliant here to set up that liar into telling the truth right when she knew dorothy was there she kicked it up a notch. Brilliant!
Knowing that the writers make rose out to be stupid like she is an idiot but she really isn't this is actually kind of weird for me seeing her actually try to seduce a man
Rose may not have had intelliegence in the classic way of thinking but she seemed to know people better than Dorothy or Blanche. The only one better at spotting a scuzball was Sophia
3:11 Blanche: “Nobody ever believes me when I’m telling the truth. I guess it’s the curse of being a devastatingly beautiful woman .” Dorothy : “OH PLEASE!”
Oddly enough, Blanche was the only Golden Girl that we never saw in bed or just coming out of bed with a guy. Rose once said that she was just a lot of talk.
Rose: "I know I look square but I'm like my father's tractor. I take a while to warm up but once I get going I can turn your topsoil until the cows come home!" 🤣🤣🤣
She actually did. She was cast as Blanche originally and Rue auditioned for Rose and they didn’t like her as Rose so they asked Betty to read for Rose.
I love how Rose traps him like this. She wasn't about to let Blanche and Dorothy fall apart because of a lying jerk like that. Rose did have some smarts about her and this was pretty clever on her part.
Yeah when he said "give you time to cool off" that really pissed me off. Acting as though Dorothy was overreacting and that he'd done nothing wrong. If he truly believed it was "No big deal" he wouldn't have felt the need to lie about it. But in lying about it he caused a lot of problems between Dorothy and Blanche.
@@LEGENDPantherJennings He kept having affairs behind her back. It's his own damn fault. Being a yutz for 38 years and being a burden to her/her family is something to think about.
Actually they asked to change roles. They had played similar characters in other sitcoms and wanted to do something different. Rue in Maude and Betty in Mary Tyler Moore.
I love how at the end of the clip Blanche indulges herself just a little moment playing the offended one but immediately tells Dorothy that she has forgiven her.
