I just discovered The Fire at the Highland Games in Mt. Vernon, WA! I was blown away by their energy, how much fun they are on stage, and their breathtaking musical skills! They are a rare gem of a band and if you like Scottish music, you must check them out! Their albums are top notch too. I just can't stop listening to them and have been lost in a loop for a solid week!! The Fire is on fire!!
We saw The Fire yesterday at the Scottish Highland Games and Festival in Felton, CA. FANTASTIC! Saw their early performance and then they announced they would be back at 3:00. We made certain to get front row seats for that 3:00 performance. Energy, spirit and certainly FIRE! Don't miss them! We are getting their EP for certain!
just came back from the Fire performance in Corvallis....ah what fine energy, intonation, rhythmic complexity, and a WALL of sound! Especially liked Dobby;s Jig, and Reece's piece...of course, the Golden Penny tonight was EXCELLENT!
I saw The Fire for the first time last night at the Liberty Theater, Ridgefield WA. What a GREAT show, and congrats to you on the release of this beautiful video! I look forward to seeing The Fire back in town this winter. Keep it up, you inspire!
Saw The Fire today in SF at the Festival of the Sea. Such dynamics musicians! David Brewer at one point gave credit to another bagpiper he admires, describing this person as the "Jimmy Hendricks" of the instrument. I'm trying to think who David Brewer could be compared to. Eddie Van Halen? Chuck Berry? Someone very skilled and having Fun!
demo man they're based out of the Santa Cruz mountains in CA. This area was settled mainly by Scotsmen, in fact our towns are named Felton, Ben Lomond, Scotts Valley, Bonny Doon, and we even have a small lake called Loch Lomond! Scottish blood runs deep in this place ya ken.
I will be seeing them instead of the Wicked Tinkers this year... has anyone heard the Wicked Tinkers??? I would like to know if they are similar on stage. Anyone have any ideas?
You won't be disappointed in The Fire. I have watched the Wicked Tinkers for years too. The Fire seems to have the passion for music you saw in The Tinkers!
I too will be seeing the fire and not the Tinkers at the norcal ren faire. I'm sad that the tinkers will not be there. They are a bit routier than these folksand more members by at least double. But, i look forward to seeing "the fire"
