There is absolutely no single big name player the warriors could get who would add more than the young dudes. Even with the new cba, people around the league seemingly still wish to punish golden state for being too good and either refuse to entertain serious offers, or demand absolute bloody fortunes.
@@MylzHobbiez b Because PG doesn’t show in the Post Season and has been injured a lot in his career. History has shown that pairing older so superstars doesn’t end well. The Nets are the best example, followed by PG to OKC and PG to LAC. Finally, the team they have is very good with putting the Warriors over budget for a player that doesn’t show and likely disrupting the Warriors overall chemistry.
I agree. I think they’re just keeping their options open. I can’t see them going after a big name if what they have now steps up before the all star break.
A lot of people shit on Mike Dunleavy Jr., but he has done a PHENOMENAL job cleaning up Bob Myers' mess. I'm glad Moody has been extended! On a pretty damn team-friendly deal, I might add! Moody is by far my favorite young Warrior prior to Podz and TJD. Smart. High basketball IQ. Plays hard on offense and defense. Patient. Humble. Hard-working. Team-player. Reminds me of who the Warriors miss the most: IGGY. Now, Moody just needs to work on his defense and not fouling. I can totally see Moody as a cornerstone of this franchise as a starting 2 alongside Podz after the Curry era. Be patient. Your time will come!
IMO.. Give Bob Myers RESPECT! The 4 RINGS were accomplished under his time with the Warriors! Don't hate! SC30 is still there! A Bob Myers Draft Production! Don't lie!
My take is that Myers was given impossible sets of competing demands with the two timelines nonsense stop he did the best he could under those circumstances, but within on a couple of key drafts and essentially having the league refused trade with the warriors without asking extortionate prices, at least seemingly, made the end of his tenure a lot less than what it should have been. And done baby didn't have a great first year or two, but I am impressed as hell with the roster he's put together for the upcoming season, at least so far.
They don't need any superstar trades, they have the deepest team in the league outside of Boston. They just need their players to show up when they're supposed to (*cough cough* Wiggins)
Moody deserves every penny if not more that kid has busted his ass in league no complaints just let his game do the talking I would take Moody on my team any day he plays both sides of the ball he's gotten better aince he was rookie and he's got a lot more potential
I am glad we didnt make either trade. We got a well rounded squad. Moody was gonna cost more after this season if he gets actual minutes. Kuminga will have to show he is worth it and i think he is. Glad they didnt panic and pg13 was too injury prone to waste our future on.
Yeah but this team can’t beat Boston with pg13 and Lauri they woulda had firepower to compete with them cause warriors woulda still had buddy if they made that trade
@@itzmoney2390nah, the Warriors are anf have been the team to beat. It goes beyond players. Its the whole organization. They will be the better team this season. The Knicks are not better 😂
I still don't understand why everyone is talking about trading the youth. Other teams are not interested in trading with us. Meanwhile, the league is going young.
Wonderful work swish.. things I don’t know, you see, share and educate. I think kuminga should go for 25 a year for like 2-3 years and work and ask more later
Thanks for watching! I don't disagree. I think he's got some ways to go before he gets max money. I think that 5 yr /150 was a sweet deal although I understand his hesitation.
When Wiggins and Kuminga started on the floor last night against Portland, the ball stuck with no ball movement. Kuminga played hero ball and scoring and energy was down. Once they separated the two there was flow and continuity. Kuminga is a talent, no doubt, but I wouldn't be surprised if he is traded as he just doesn't move the ball the way that made the Warriors so successful. Wiggins at the three, Moody at the two and, although I love Davis, he should be a four and heir apparent to Green, but get us a great passing, rim protecting big man to help the guards keep their legs late in the game for shooting.
Currently favor this starting lineup …. - SC - BH - DG - AW - TJD 2nd 5 …. - DM - BP - JK - MM - KL * Try to mix in GPII & Slow Mo every night. * LW III when it makes sense or there are injuries, etc… not an every night player. * GS when there is a blowout or injury.
Definitely one of the best warriors team they’ve had during their dynasty run. My wishlist is that Kuminga improves his countermove footwork for when he gets stopped on his initial drive, and trayce having a midrange would be clutch. Regardless, still think this team is top 3 or 4 in the west and has a real chance to win it all. They’ll win the nba cup, I said it first
Yea proud of our team but after Watching the game kuminga is not ready for a contract extension and we gotta see more from him cus ik he gon do better it’s the first game
No hate, SB. A team can't win without chemistry. When you and the guys in the locker room have issues and truth is, Dray had issues with everyone not named Curry & Klay after that Poole incident. Obviously some things can be hashed out, but Draymond is who he is and I think folks just didn't wanna deal with his attitude.
Kuminga should have took the 150 mill, him and his family would be set for life, now he has to deal with the pressure of proving himself this season behind a coach like kerr who could easily sabotage his career, sad to see. I hope Kuminga balls out for that 200 mill contract
JK will be restricted free agent. Warriors won't lose him. Also Draymond is irreplaceable imo. Looking at all the bs he has pulled, Steve and the Warriors front office won't and don't wanna lose him. Without Dray there is no dynasty. Yes he fked up a few times but he has helped them more than him screwing things. Dray and Steph are the heart and soul of the team.
It is going to get hard for Warriors who will be starting cos Podz and Moody can also start, Melton, Hield and Gp2 are also good too and still we also can't count out Looney(last post-season he was a rebounding machine), btw...i hope Wiggins get back to his 2022 form where he is an amazing 2 way player👍🏼
If anybody gets screwed this year unfortunately will be Moody. Kerr is uncertain about rotation because he was counting on Moody not being much of a factor. Moody went out and made that look stupid.
I've been waiting for this Team Splash LOOK for the last 4-5 years! It was easy to see other teams catch and pass GSW. The 12 in concept will hurt JK's $$ but help him overall. We still need at least one 7'er, pace & depth helps Curry more than than another star that may or may not fit! GSW wins and fun always trends in the same direction. This style of play will bring some wins just because so many teams/players are so used to catching rest while still on the floor gsw should have the fresher leggs at the end of many games this year so holding on to defensive intensity will be the real key other than overall size!
Good morning G.V. Awesome video and take. I want Kuminga to work on his game of aggression because he definitely has star potential. As far as letting go of Moody and Kuminga for a Paul G. Or a Jimmy B. Is a big No for me. I'd rather have the energy of these two young and healthy Warriors because they will only get better as the season progress. GREAT GAME LAST NIGHT WARRIORS ❤
Warriors should Trade Kuminga for Jazz's Walker Kessler - a true defensive anchor that can defend against Anthony Davis, Embid, Wembanyama, Jokic and other scoring bigs. Best starting lineup C - Walker Kessler PF - Draymond Green SF - Moses Moody SG - Andrew Wiggins PG - Steph Curry
So someone commented not necessarily here, that this is the most aggressive running, 3 point shooting team since We Believe, when we beat #1 seed San Antonio as the 8th seed. I gotta say. I grew up with Run TMC. Mitch Robinson was not far from a MJ clone at times, and we loved him! He did outplay MJ in his rookie year, and had a vicious In Your Face Dunk against Patrick Ewing. Full MJ dominance style. After just one year, he left to Sac. Sadly he only had one year with us. Truth be told, our current team has those killer types.
I'll say the same thing I said when Poole wanted a contract...DON'T DO IT! Anyone can look good in a championship team, they should offer him the lowest they can, enter the market for free agent's, give Looney more money on the back end. Dwight Howard would be a decent addition for the late playoff runs that it is inevitable.
Game 1 proves warriors are going all the way. 2 way Wiggs showed up Jk ain’t going no where Warriors scored 139 pts with wiggs, jk, green & curry all playing 25 minutes and under. Imagine if that core played another 5 minutes each. Jimmy is not a role player. He’d never fit with curry. PG is mostly hype.
7:27 I believe since Paul George signed a new contract with 76ers he can’t be moved for a whole year at least. It’s the same deal with Lauri Markkanen he can’t be traded for a year since he recently resigned with the Utah Jazz. I’m more in favor of holding onto JK than trading him & Wiggins for Jimmy Butler. However, if there was a trade to be made, I feel like it should be an even swap sign and trade with draft compensation added going to Miami in exchange for Jimmy Butler or an even swap for Brandon Ingram with maybe a future conditional first and a conditional second added. No matter what the Warriors cannot lose JK for nothing. They either need to re-sign him or trade him away and get someone of equal or better value back.
Draymond did NOT chase away KD. The whole blow up they had that game was pent up energy because the Dubs were able to give KD 2 rings and he STILL couldn't decide whether to stay. The whole organization was walking on eggshells that year. As we all know now but KD and Kyrie lied about during the season, they ended up in Brooklyn together. KD already had a foot out the door, Draymond just pushed his a$$ out.
I could never slander Dray. We win without KD, we would win without Klay but we don’t win without Draymond. It’s a reason he’s the last one standing along Steph
This is true. First game jitters however. I wont fault Kuminga too much just yet considering the pressure he's under albeit it might be a bit self-inflicted. Bad games do happen. I'm sure they will come around.
If the Paul George rumors are true, Dunleavy isn't as smart as I think he is, unless it was a pressure stunt to get Kuminga to bite on a discount. JK (and every Warrior for that matter, unfortunately) needs to get the hell away from Draymond Green to realize his potential. Smart move on his part not to settle for whatever discount Warriors are looking for. Moody is represented by Klutch, so he's somewhat more limited in his independence from Draymond. I think the team friendly deal reflects that. I think JK would rather test the open market that play with Draymond. I have to agree.
I'm not saying Podz is DPOY or anything (and not to be the guy bringing up this stat again) but ngl if he had the most charges drawn in the league last season I'd say he can play defense a lil bit 💀drawing charges is his best defense tho he's not a shot blocker but not a cone either
chasing stars??? pleaseeeeeeee! Ballin is not all about having a star... it's about chemistry and the Dubs have proven it again and again... we have young rising stars to the envy of most teams... Strength in numbers!.... lezzz go DUBSSSSS!!!
Kerr still in love with Podz. 25 minutes no points, looking lost on the floor. WTF. Moody scored more with less time. Melton played better than Podz. That turnover off an open pass to Podz was enough to sit him down. Him and Looney are liabilities.
Some way to early reactions imo. Kuminga looked okay, his shooting was pretty bad. Melton looked better on both sides compared to Wiggins, but Wigs put up 20pts in 23 mins. TJD can pass! He was impressive. Podz played well but struggled shooting. Steph is Steph… Hield is going to be a difference maker if he is consistent. Draymond will probably hurt us, and I’ve been a big Draymond guy, but getting a tech over that was stupid.
Trade Kuminga for Ausar Thompson or Ron Holland! Jk just doesn't fit team need.... like Jalen Johnson does.... but Myers was horrible at drafting. MDJ has assembled endless shooting from the guards. Waters is legit and needs minutes! Buddy is just a joy to watch. Melton holds things down. Podz does everything you could ask. Moody is basically the Looney of sg... but they should have waited to sign him. Anderson gives them Draymond rest, finally. Sure they might get exposed on defense and dominated by a big soon but they're fun to watch.
@@dreamtimej He has demonstrated confusion and inconsistency and has even said on a number of occasions after coming out of games that he did know what he did out there. Like I said, I do not trust him. In short I don't think he is very smart.
why do you keep talking about Paul George? the Warriors dont make trades in the middle of the season bro. when have you known the warriors to make a trade at the deadline?
Hey Jontae. In case it isn't clear, when writing or otherwise providing information of any sort really, it is important to use context. In this case, Joe Lacob recently made a statement which was corroborated by Draymond Green that the franchise was interested in getting both Paul George and Lauri Markkannen. Some might have thought initially that the Warriors were going after the players separately . Additionally, Lacob made another statement which I also mention in the video that makes the potential for a mid-season trade a very high possibility. If the Warriors had a hard rule regarding making/not making trade deadline deals, that would be a rather silly approach to building the best team you can. I'd rather not pull data out of thin air and go by what specifically the front office is doing, say they are interested in doing and make sense to be doing. Makes sense?
@@SwishCulture no it doesnt make sense because history tells us that the warriors function with chemistry and continuity. and trades at the deadline ruins moral, confidence, and a lot of chemistry with the team. also Draymond has even come out on his podcast with Baron Davis and said he thinks they are/can be contenders. Same with Steph and even Steve Kerr.
Idk, bout ya’ll but even with limited minutes JK hasn’t showed me he is even worth 30 million. So, he should’ve taken that deal while it was on the table. At this point trade JK for someone else. He’s not a good fit for the system the Warriors play.
Kuminga betting on himself the klay Thompson way. lol The warriors offered 130 to 150 million 🤯money for his current resumé. Which he declined 😮Hopefully he can achieve his goal which would mean he will play like an all star this season.
Kuminga's defense & offense are inconsistent & vary game to game from excellent to WTF. In their 1st game today with Portland he was the only Warrior not to log a positive +/-. His +/- was 0. (edit) ₱28M per year for 5 years is reasonable. If he wants higher his offense & defense & shooting need to become consistently great, & if he does that & makes the all-stars then maybe he can ask for a little more
JK is definitely not an all star. He definitely is not worth 30 or 50 million in his current play. For reference DG is paid 25m a year, and is worth more to winning & court play than JK (assuming DG is actually playing & not collecting techs & ejections). I view JK’s biggest issues as lack of assertiveness, indecision, lack of creativity, poor vision, poor basketball IQ, etc… He’s athletic as hell. He’s working hard & improved his shot. He has the capability of being awesome. However, he often looks lost, makes poor decisions, & doesn’t know what he wants to do. He’s got 2 or 3 moves & that’s it. When def crowd him, interfere or stop his 2 or 3 moves he doesn’t know what to do. Also his defense is poor & suspect, especially when considering his natural athleticism. I would not pay him more than 25m per year for 3 years unless he makes a giant consistent leap in his play. He is a huge dud, overpay risk. Currently looks like fools gold. Would definitely trade him if the right opportunity presented itself. Moody is worth more than his new contract. GSW got a bargain. Needs to play more. Don’t like playing JK & Wiggs together - pick one & rotate them out for each other. Please do not trade for Butler or any other injury prone older player that is past his prime. Overall the team looks great. Great start. Very pleased. Would not be forcing a trade with anyone. Really like the team as is. Strength in numbers. Have 13 excellent players with great chemistry now. The 3 vets are fantastic & a great fit. Despite my assessment of JK above, he’s slowly getting better & not regressing. BP, TJD, & MM are still improving & look great. Looney & GPII look solid. Different individual chemistry & significantly better team chemistry. Need to repeat Q1 of the Trailblazers last night but Q2, Q3, & Q4 looked great. Can they be consistent? Can DG control himself & stay in the game? If yes & yes then this team, as is, can compete for a championship.
