TGC 2019 is arguably the best home golf simulator software on the market. It is available for a variety of launch monitors such as SkyTrak, Flightscope Mevo+, GC2, GCQuad and trackman. However it comes in at a whopping £895, so is it actually worth the money?

Hello! My name is Mitch and I am relatively new to the golf game! I began as a 25 handicap golfer a little over 2 years ago and have managed to work my way down to my current handicap of 9!
My latest investment has been a SkyTrak golf simulator and launch monitor, so that i can improve my golf game at home and especially indoors during the winter months. On my channel you will find some helpful tips and tricks related to SkyTrak, as well as monitoring my progress out on the golf course. I will upload how to videos, comparison videos and also some all important course vlogs!

My guys! Proper inspiration! going through a tough time and I've rebranded my old series, hopefully it can put a smile on someones face! Great video. I totally agree, it is well worth it. Sim golf is never going to equal real golf but its so much fun. Getting to play any course you want whenever you want, regardless of time of day or weather is the best part. I think too if you factor in the cost of going to play an actual round of golf coupled with the fact that you can play multiple times per week on the sim makes it even more cost effective.

I agree it is never going to beat playing real golf but on those cold wet winter days when the courses are closed its a lovely feeling knowing i can just head into the sim 😍

"Par 3 Kids vs Parents" is good and the Augusta National Par 3 course is also great - I think this is called "*********** Par 3" on the game but if you go nto trending courses it is usually somewhere near the top of the list 👍

I went with E6 over TGC. What made the choice for me was E6 was designed for sim golf, the controls and gameplay flow much better in my opinion.

Great video! Would be really helpful if you did a follow up on tips and tricks for the simulator with skytrak. For instance, how do you add another player profile? When playing locally with a friend, we seem to only be able to add a guest without a separate profile. And when using Q to scout the hole, we can’t figure out what distance Q is looking at. It looks like you can cycle through clubs and change where it’s scouting, but we can’t show distance to target. Thanks!

Hello, I really enjoy your videos. Any chance you can do a video on tgc 2019 and how to use the online portion? I am interested in playing tournaments with gimmes on the greens. But have trouble understanding where to go

Craic man. How’s tricks? Quick one. I’ve bit the bullet and bought TGC. The putting is doing my head in. How do you change Straight putting setting? Can’t seem to see it in TGC setting. Sound man. Keep up the good work.

Hi mate. When you downloaded TGC 2019 there should be 3 icons that appear on your computer desktop - one of those is the TGC settings file. Open it up (it is basically a simple notepad file) and where it says "PUTTING STRAIGHT = OFF" just change the word "OFF" to "ON" and make sure you save your changes (file>save) before you exit that document. Next time you open up TGC you should find that your putts always read straight. Hope that helps. Any issues let me know.

Buying the software like me spending 350.00 for awesome golf. Is like buying a ps4 slim. You guys know what you want. Think of how many times you go to the driving range, or all the times you wished you hit better.

Excellent! Do you know how to get the crowds on TGC 2019, when I’m just playing a round with my mates? It only seems to appear in the society games. I’ve finished my golf bar now. It’s ace. Thanks for your help 👍

Hi and thank you! No, it doesn't run through Steam. It installs an icon on your PC desktop and it loads through that 👍🏻

i currently only use the ST now. No WGT yet. Seriously considering TGC after watching this review. Questions please: 1) Once I purchase TGC - will it be linked automatically with my ST? Like WGT? 2) Or do I have to have the ST app and the TGC app separately? I don't quite understand how I'm supposed to run TGC on my ST. Thanks!

Thanks Herbert! I imagine it is just something to do with the video game features that were left in the simulator version. Something to do with in-game earnings and levelling up each time you earn ‘cash’ or points after you complete a round. Something that means nothing to the simulator version we play but meant something in the leftovers from the video game. I might be completely wrong, but that is my guess 😂 If anyone reads this and knows more, feel free to educate us!

@@hcpgolf Many thanks; I'm not a good golfer, play relatively often and have an amount of 62000 US$ "earned" until now. But about this LVL I dont't know anything. It doesn't matter. By the way, am I allowed to ask a second question? Chosing a flight with "ghosts" and other players, you can see the points they played in a former round. Are the players playing golf with real clubs oder playing it with the PC oder play station as a game (joystick, mouse,etc.)? In this case how can I see the kind of reaching this results. Because with the PC I can make a 380 meter-drive, whereas in real golf it is for me the maximum of 170 (age 67). Many thanks and have a good day! Herbert

Just bought this for my gc2, hoping I like it. Been using fsx for the last few years and the courses are a little pricey for the good ones. Any info on the right courses to play would be appreciated there is a lot to go through and would rather go right to the good ones

Hi mate, I am sure you will enjoy the GC2! I would recommend playing any courses that have the word LIDAR in the title. These are very accurate to real life courses. Also, go when you go into search for courses on TGC, dont click the first 'trending' tab you see. Instead click 'More Filters' and the click 'Trending'. This will bring up all the popular courses that people have been playing that particular week and its your best bet at finding brilliant (and famous) courses!

Hello Mitch, I’ve been looking to purchase a simulator where I can play courses without a yearly fee.. I was considering the Garmin R10 .. If I purchase TGC would I still have to subscribe to the monthly fee garmin charges? And any other recommendations?

Hi. I don’t believe that TGC 2019 is available to use with the Garmin R10. The Garmin R10 does come with a few free courses included using a software called E6 Connect though so you can use that. If you want to play TGC 2019 specifically, then you would need to buy another launch monitor eg SkyTrak, which does come with a £99/$99 yearly fee. I hope that helps 👍🏼

I have never played the original TGC, but from what I have read and people I have spoken to, those who have TGC 2019 never play the original.

Rookie question… does it let u play or practice the same hole over and over? I dont always like to play a full round and be switching clubs, etc…

In a word, no. However there are some ‘courses’ that have been made which simply contain 1 hole (eg 17th at Sawgrass, 19th at Payne’s Valley) so technically you can. You can also choose to re-hit the same shot over and over on a hole. Hope that helps 👍🏼

Yes, you can. Just click on the button "Rewind shot", than you can play the hole a second time. With the further option "Rewind shot automatically" you can play every hole as often as you wand.

My garage space is 2.8m high and 3.7m wide. Will that give me enough room to use my Callaway Epic Max Driver? I also have a SkyTrak golf simulator and plan to purchase TGC-2019 software.

It really depends on your personal swing and how steep/shallow it is. Your width should be fine I’m just not sure about your height. The best thing to do would be have a few practice swings with your driver in that space and see how naturally you can swing it 👍🏼

Personally, I have never played the original TGC. However, people who have say that they never play the original once they own the 2019 version!

Yes you do. SkyTrak is the launch monitor that measures all the data from your shots, TGC is the software that allows you to play golf courses using that data 👍🏼

You have TGC2019 for life yes. In order to play it though you must have the SkyTrak Game Improvement Package which is a yearly subscription of £99 👍🏼

I have never tested it personally. I use TGC through Wi-Fi and haven’t had any issues. I hard wire my SkyTrak to the PC though via USB

Your golf simulator room looks pretty small. What is the height of your ceiling? What is the width of your space? and what are the dimensions of your screen? I am thinking about installing a golf simulator (projector & screen) in my garage - - - but, need to know how large of a space is needed for a similar setup like yours.

It is only small. 2.4m high, 2.5m wide. I can swing 6 iron max which is annoying but at the same time better than not being able to play at all!

It depends on how steep/shallow your swing is with driver. I think you will have plenty of width but the height may be an issue. Best thing to do is to take your driver and do some practice swings in the room to see if you can swing 'normally' without hitting the ceiling/walls 👍🏻

Not the same game unfortunately. Well it is exactly the same game, however the expensive one is the only one that allows you to use it as a simulator

150k golf courses but 95% of them are poorly built. Of all the sims available today, I’d rank it maybe as 3rd of the ones I’ve owned. I prefer GSPro which has far superior physics. Graphics on newest courses are superior as well. Some of the older courses maybe not as good as TGC. TGC is also older with zero development. The dreaded first bounce still exists and any attempts to get them to update have gone unanswered. Maybe if/when an update comes out they will fix things. Hopefully not using the 2k21 version which is barely a step forward for pc golf.

In my opinion, TGC 2019 has all the quality built courses you can need. Yes many are poorly built but since i have had the software I have only ever played highly rated courses and that does me fine, as most of the world famous courses are well built. I am however excited to try GSPro now that there is a way of using it with SkyTrak! That will be my next purchase as I have heard many positive reviews 👍🏻

Lol ball physics are not realistic. 1st bounce is not realistic 2nd you don’t get penalized for being in the bunker or rough. If you want to play a true realistic game play, go and try out GS Pro. You will never want to go back.

The first bounce is not ideal, you do get penalised for being in the rough and bunkers though! Unfortunately GSPro isn’t available for all launch monitors owners, particularly SkyTrak owners! Not everyone can afford the extra few grand to upgrade to a GC2 and try out GSPro!
