What I love about Lea is that she understands Shawn. In the beginning of the episode she tells Hubert "don't worry, daddy just shows his love in a different way" and even though she is initially sad that Shawn didn't comfort her, when Shawn took her to buy a new fish and pointed out that Hubert died because of a parasite picked up at the pet store, she had this look on her face as she sat to pick a fish, she knew it was his way of caring and trying to comfort her
I think the people who wanted Shaun to comfort her don’t understand that he can’t. Lea is a very emotional person, and Shaun is too, but it’s hard for him to regulate his own emotions, let alone hers. As an autistic person it’s very hard for me to relate to certain things like that.
I know that some people wish that he had comforted her, but I'm glad that he didn't. She told Hubert that he shows love in a different way, and when they go back to the pet store he does just that.
Love this scene and I love even more the scene in the pet store when Shaun gets them to give them another fish. I’d never seen Lea look at Shaun with so much love and respect at that point. A bookmark for the future.

This exactly describes my pain as a person with autism. I feel the discomfort and awkwardness quite well, yet I seem to lack the adequate execution many more times than neurotypical people. Sometimes I really wished there would be no such thing as an autism spectrum disorder, but I may be biased. It creates thoughts in my head that I am unintentionally anti social. It really feels like a medical condition, which is anti human. I guess I still could only speak for myself. What is the point of having a high IQ verbally, but not being able to execute or plan? What is the point of wanting to be social, even feeling that it is a quality of your personality, but not being able to REALLY BE socially adapted?
The fish died coz it’s in a small as tank it’s a comet gold fish should be in 100L at least and I doubt it’s cycled it’s probly not dechlorinated lol thought Shaun was smart

I don't know if it's just because of his autism or not, but the way he said "Hubert is dead" just sounded way too casual. I don't know, he just barely sounded surprised.
To be honest, i really dont like Lea :) she kissed him twice, flirted him , but just friends ????? And i also think Lea is too emotional. Just my opinion
I don't know if it is just me, but I can't stand Lea. There is something about her that irritates. I have Asperger's and I don't know what is about her character but she annoys me. I was hoping her character wouldn't come back after her move to Hershey.
verne Burns Lea is sad about she can't do anything right: rebuilt old car business failure, hurt she and her brothers'relationship and even can't take care of a fish. She isn't selfish. What are you thinking?
R.K.P. Wong . Listen to her dialogue. She is soliciting sympathy. When she returned, she didn’t voluntarily tell Shaun why she came back, she put the onus on him to inquire. Why did she seek refuse with Shaun. They weren’t long time acquaintances.
@@verneburns5592 Anyone feeling bad about himself/herself isn’t selfish. When Shaun had problem, he went to her for help. Lea went to him for help when she had problem. It was reasonable. First couple days, Shaun avoided seeing her and talking to her; she had no chance to tell him what happened in Hershey. In Season 1, Glassman arranged him to see a therapist because he wanted Shaun had a better life but he refused. In Season 2, the writers use disagreements between he and Lea to help him to learn and grow. No one is perfect, including Shaun and Lea, but they learn from mistakes. So far they have learned: relationship needs to talk and listen (not to escape), to compromise and love can show in a different way. If you can’t see that, this show is not for you. Have a good day.
@@Mina_onnesan Lea went back to Hershey to help her brother to save the auto shop which left by their grandfather, but failure. (They rebuilt old-cars. I think the business was very bad, and they lost the shop to the bank.) Because of that, it hurt she and her brothers' relationship.
