The truth is that we all are members of the sinful human race (Adam & Eve) but thank you Jesus for dying on the cross to remove our sin, shame and guilt. Thank you for your miraculous resurrection so we can live with a purpose on earth, a relationship with Your Father and assurance of our eternal destiny in Heaven. HALLELUJAH!

In the parable of the rich man and Lazarus, Jesus indirectly says that if one rises from the dead people will still not believe...and Jesus goes on to say, a wicked and adulterous people will not be given a sign except the sign of Jonah. The sign of Jonah isn't simply that Jonah came out of the belly of the whale, and that Christ will likewise come out of the Earth. The reason Jesus refers to Jonah, is based on Jonah's prayer. The resurrection isn't simply a miracle to mesmerize us. It validates Jesus as being faithful to God in all the virtues prayed by Jonah. It lets us know what is the nature of Christ's devotion to God, in the resurrection. When people backslide, but struggle to get right, they often look to signs, or former experiences, activities, and things about themselves that they hope to resurrect through imaginations of themselves. But the prayer of Jonah was a rejection of these vanities, and instead, looking to Christ alone, committing yourself, and placing hope in God, who alone, can and will save. The resurrection isn't just a miracle. The resurrection proves that Jesus is the Jonah of God, who was faithful in death, and was sent to preach repentance and salvation...the same as Ninevah.

And the darkness during Christ's crucifixion was prophesied in Amos 8:9. It's not exclusive to the New Testament. The only difference is that God's judgement on man in Amos 8, was put on Christ, but it will happen again on man.
