This is what I try to tell people. Back then, NOBODY was riding a beat like Em. Not one person. His stuff today technically is better but THIS Em right here was what made him so good. He was simply saying stuff in a way that was simple and the way he rode a beat, you didn't have to think, you just got it. No one ever has done it better in my opinion.

nope. he was talking about the iraq and afghanistan wars getting out of control to the point where american youth could get drafted. It happened with the war in vietnam. People were getting drafted to go fight in jungles. In hindsight even though that didn't happen, the wars in iraq and afghanistan have been going on ever since.

A bit controversy, sprinkled with enough cheekiness to make people forgive even lyrics like on "Stay wide awake", clever lines, some insights into his mindset and personal things, smart choices of rhyming-pockets and a lot of skill. Also, get someone for the hook who will appeal to not just hiphop-heads and BAM - winner. He knows what he's doing, that's for sure. And if he misses... well, he just gets back into the saddle and moves on.
