PS: The most interesting thing is this. When you JUST listen to the music by itself, you are amazed at how it sounds. BUT when you place it in the context of "a western", it takes on a whole new dynamic of sounds and mental visuals. The steady drums as "horse hoofs" and the sweeping vocals as panoramic vistas and sweeping plains. As well as the strings/chimes for entering small "towns" makes perfect sense. Just close your eyes and imagine everything you think of when you think of "The Wild West" and see how much the music enhances what your mind creates.
My wife does not understand why I turn on this movie at every opportunity, until I explain that I'm not watching the movie, I'm listening to the soundtrack. Best soundtrack ever (Including Lawrence of Arabia, OMG).
Thank you thank you for listening without a pause to this fabulously beautiful piece of music you can teach a lot of other people with blogs a thing or two about respect for the artists and the public just listen how hard can it be lovely reaction and thank you again I will watch your blog again no problem
Ennio Morricone was a absolute genius and still sadly missed, but we are all so lucky that we all got the chance to hear his stunning music , especially ecstasy of gold , one of the greatest pieces of music ever written, well that's how I feel anyway .
They're amazing....everything they do is amazing, Tuva Semmingsen (wah wah) is a mezzo-soprano and she is awesome, go check out the other videos by her and them, the composer is the late Ennio Morricone (1928-2020) and he's a legend as he should be, he did all the scores for those kinds of movies known as Spaghetti Westerns which catapulted Clint Eastwood to global superstar status, what you're listening to now is from The Good, The Bad and The Ugly but there's also A Fistful of Dollars and For a Few Dollars More and capped off by Once Upon a Time in the West, all directed by legendary Italian director Sergio Leone (1929-1989) his last film was 1984's Once Upon a Time in America which starred Robert De Niro and James Woods, the composer and director here have had a massive influence on many current composers and directors, the works by them are stunning. As a side note, look at the aforementioned Tuva Semmingsen and she's wearing a gun shaped earing.
About a year before he died, Ennio Morricone actually gave a Concert in Copenhagen. I could have hoped he had been present at this fantastic, full Orchestra Concert! I'm sure he would also have been amazed from this, near perfect Production! The Wa Wa Lady is a very fine, one of the best and a well known Norwegian Mezzosoprano, by the way! Finn. Denmark
So now you'll have to see the movie with Clint Eastwood they called it the Spaghetti Westerns cuz they were made with Italian directors and I think they were actually filmed in Spain out in the desert and the genius who wrote the soundtrack his Italian as well
Ennio Morricone, who was in charge of the soundtracks for "THE GOOD, THE BAD and THE UGRY", said that the composition method at the time of making this movie was avant-garde music that incorporated daily tools and real voices that were not orchestral instruments. I was making emotional music.
Thank you for your reaction to this great song Nneamaka! Here are a few more songs to add to your list to get to some day! "Try" by Blue Rodeo, "Mmm Mmm" by Crash Test Dummies, "And When I Die" by Blood Sweat and Tears, "What's Up?" by 4 Non Blondes, and "Question" by the Moody Blues! Good luck to you with your channel and please stay safe and healthy!!
This video perfectly shows the difference between "composing" music and "arranging" music for movies. To "compose" you must KNOW what each instrument is capable of, how it can highlight another instrument OR counter it, as well as how it can emphasis specific emotional responses. And you must KNOW how to do it note for note, bar for bar, piece by piece. To "arrange" you must KNOW how each sound works with or against each other. And you must KNOW where your "power" comes from. Composing is like a hand written letter to a dear friend or loved one. Arranging is simply typing a form letter. Both can be moving, don't get me wrong. But the "composed" version will always feel more emotionally connected to both the composer and the listener.
In the title there should be Maestro Ennio Morricone. The Danish symphony is just executing. The name of the inventor composer must be in the title of the video. Thank you for sharing this however
This tune is not (!) by the "The Danish National Symphony Orchestra - they "just" play it. This tune is by the Italian composer Ennio Morricone! Morricone is more important than the Orchestra. He must be mentioned in the video title! btw: Morricone also composed the music to the iconic movie "Once upon a time in the west" - and many many others.
Morricone is not "more important" than the orchestra. It is the combination of the creation and the performance that makes it great, and neither can stand alone. Creation and performance are two different disciplines. As in movies, the script is not more important than the acting- a bad actor can ruin a good script and vice versa.
All she is doing is singing "WAH WAH" ANY one can do that sound. I find it amusing that so many reactors can't seem to figure out "HOW DOES SHE DO THAT WITH HER MOUTH" I just love how the drums keep a "galloping hooves of horses" beat. The whole piece just brings you images of the "Old West" GREAT movie, you should watch it sometime. OH and it SEEMS that you NEVER noticed the "man" hanging from a noose from the ceiling....it was shown 3 times and I didn't see any "shock" reaction from you! lol!
What an epic soundtrack for a legit spaghetti western movie back in 1966 , directed by Sergio Leone... Maestro Ennio Morricone, did an unbelievable work , and gave us that great and epic soundtrack ! Him and maestro Nino Rota , with the Godfather's film trilogy iconic soundtrack are the top listed Italian music geniuses !
Yes it is an oboe. The composer Morricone wrote another fine oboe solo for the Movie, the Mission called Gabriel's Oboe which was later set to words & called Nella Fantasia
@@nneamakailechetv49 you're very welcome....I love Clint Eastwood westerns.... my favorite it high plains drifter .... that music just makes me want to get my six shooter, boots, cowboy hat, and hop on a horse...
