The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (Italian: Il buono, il brutto, il cattivo), is a 1966 Italian epic spaghetti western film directed by Sergio Leone, starring Clint Eastwood, Lee Van Cleef, and Eli Wallach in the title roles.
Ennio Morricone composed the famous film score, including its main theme. It is the third and final film in the Dollars trilogy following A Fistful of Dollars (1964) and For a Few Dollars More (1965).
Leone was unable to find an actual cemetery for the Sad Hill shootout scene, so the Spanish pyrotechnics chief hired 250 Spanish soldiers to build one in Carazo near Salas de los Infantes, which they completed in two days.

Every body in this film made it the best film ever. Clint, Eli, Lee are amazing. God knows how many times I have watched it and never tire of it... It just gets better and better with time.

Yep he did something very similar for The Magnificent Seven in making the bandit leader a memorable character. His mannerisms in this movie are great and his scene with his brother is one of the better scenes in the movie as it was really believable. That also created a bit of a turning point in the film where he went from just being a murdering thief to a slightly more sympathetic character as he is somewhat the victim of circumstance. As he said if you didn't want to die of grinding poverty there were only two ways out banditry or the priesthood and his choice was a much harder life.

Like most everyone here I loved this movie. Especially the music and the vocals. Ennio Morricone is lauded, as he should well be, but what makes this movie so memorable to me is the angelic voice of Edda Dell'Orso. I have never heard a more perfect voice than hers and could listen to her for hours. Ennio does get the credit for the fantastic musical score, but rarely does it get linked with Edda and her beautiful vocals in this movie and others. Edda, I thank you and salute you!

Yes, she is wonderful. Was she in the scores for all 3 movies? "Once Upon a Time," too? I do like the recreations Morricone did with Susana Rigacci as Soprano. She really belts 'em out!

Fabulous stuff there Herve, this is RU-vid at it's very best. The Spaghetti Westerns were unforgettable, the cast, plots, screenplay, and of course Ennio Morricone's scores are amongst the very best themes EVER. Ten out of ten from me for this video.

Now, that's just plain unbelievable! It's fascinating to see how much some things change over time and how other things(like mountains) pretty much just stay the same. Great vision and well thought out. It's worth another look. I saw Eli Wallach in some t.v. movie a few years back. If it wasn't for his nose I wouldn't have recognized him. One of the great all time movies, of course.

I will NEVER forget the experience of seeing this movie for the first time in 1968 -- between my two tours in the Vietnam War. It was the first spaghetti western I ever saw, and I had never heard of them prior to that. The movie was so hard to grasp for adults at that time I had to see it two more times before I could figure out what it was about. That's how our consciousness has changed since those days. Anyway, congratulations and thanks.

Excelente!!

Well done, finding all this locations. Interesting piece of work. Must say, I´m very impressed. This movie will always be remembered and seeing this places, used in the movie, makes me feel a little sentimental. Have always loved Clint Eastwood and he was perfect for the role as well as the others, but finding a better director than Sergio Leone, he was the real, true master.

Great work finding the exact film camera shooting locations and your brilliant morphing out from the original film footage to the present day -fabulous The countryside well the geology has hardly changed in 54 years And yet it is still the best western genre movie ever made without any doubt - director-production Actors location music and storyline - all perfect thankyou to Sergio Leone Alberto Grimaldi Clint Eastwood Lee van Cleef and Eli Wallach and the maestro's morricone's epic musical score -i read somewhere that most of the extras playing the union and confederacy soldiers were actually spanish army conscripts the bridge as blown up in the movie had been built especially for the film but the spanish military wanted to control the explosives and as they went through checking the camera angles through a lack of communication the explosives were detonated and bridge was blown up -the cameras were not rolling and the set was ruined. the spanish military then hastily rebuilt the bridge in a more rustic style .they were also involved with the construction and removal of the sad hill cemetary . it was and still is a great piece of cinematography. well done and thankyou for posting i would love to visit these sites as i am sure many people would.
