It's a learning experience, you learn as you go.It still is a great video.Great info on grading and it shows on the grading companies don't always know what they are doing.Grading is just someone's opinion. Thanks for the education, that's what is important.
The Accugrade Holder has no ears, providing a clear view of all aspects of the coin and eliminating any blind spots....Accugrade the Good Holder, The BAD the PCGS with 3 Large Ears, The UGLY the NGC Holder with 4 Ears..
Yeah, that’s disappointing for sure Texas! I have some Morgan’s and Peace dollars I would like to send but I guess you never know unless you give it a shot! Good Luck on your future submissions!
Man those last 2 hurt I don't see how they got cleaned out of that CC Morgan the one I sent in I'm now worried if its gonna come back cleaned wow just wow
Yea it was kind of disappointing, but you live and learn. I didn’t scope the Morgan yet to see if there are any cleaning marks.I still think the Morgan is at least a $400+ coin. I read the standard on environmental damage and excessive dark toning is one of the criteria. That’s the ONLY thing on the Barber. I still think it’s a $200+ coin, the details are great for a VF coin. If it straight graded a 25 it would be $275. Either way, not bad for a .50 cent pull from a roll.
I think you have the best attitude, we all see what we want sometimes so being more discerning on what we send is a better mindset then ‘I hate them and they screwed Mr’ which I see on so many of these streamers. I’m a long time collector who started when I was 8 or 9 back in the 70’s, before 3rd party grading companies were a thing and the hobby was a great pass time as my dad took us to the LCS for the weekly blind auction board and haggle over coins they brought in. 3rd party graders are now somewhat of a necessary evil with so many counterfeiters and scammers looking for quick scores… I myself really hate the flippers who are all about quick profits… ruining the hobby…
I just got my order today updated and they told me half of my pci coins were unclear details but the other half were legit and then I called they said I can just re submit and basically the eyes that looked might have sucked and it’s all opinionated it’s upsetting how inconsistent they can be I don’t like that they are 50/50 with there eyes and grading I know my coins were legit it’s upsetting now I have to resubmit one more time then I’m sending them to NGC cause I’m not gonna keep getting ripped off cause they can’t grade right 😢
That's a tough one man. It certainly opens up my eyes I'm about to send in my first submission of coins that I think are worthy of getting graded. I'm definitely going to get more opinions from people who know more than I do. Just curious how much did it cost to have them slabbed up?
I don't care if mine are Detail or not, I cleaned them with NaF and they are over 100 year old Silver. Like you I'm just getting PCGS Economy Capsules, like you said, to protect the coin.
Yes I listed all three. I put them under the scope and after looking at them, one of the quarters is questionable, but the other two look just like the pictures on PCGS’ web site. Not sure why they weren’t attributed.
It's bad, I got a few, One way is look at the cheek, it'll usually has no scratches or luster maybe too long a dip or it was polished. they look great until you take a good look at it. It's so rare to see a cheek on a Morgan with no marks, it's a bummer. ANACS is good at labeling varieties, but people prefer PCGS Oor NCG.
Can I ask a question why what is the purpose of sending in 64 silver quarter that is xf even if it was mint state not sure it’s worth sending in I often wonder why people do this to themselves and pcgs only recognizes few varieties of those I don’t understand to me if it does not make economic sense to get graded then why I understand people have money but to me those type coins should be graded after others but what do I know
Not bad. That 1900 O barber is worth about $145. The 1891 CC morgan is worth about $325. Great job! PCGS is tough these days. So many come back details.
I really wanted to like the video but just can’t. It’s your lighting. We can’t see the coins only the reflection of the light your using. Maybe watch your videos before posting and if you can’t see it, we can’t. Please don’t take it offensively just letting you know how a viewer can be frustrated trying to see your content. G
Most of the coins were found in rolls. The Buffalo nickel was bought on eBay about 10-15 years ago and I won the Morgan on a RU-vid channel for $6. All of the other coins were found in rolls, some in customer rolls and some in bank rolls. Most of the coins found in rolls I have done videos on.
Homie, I hate to say it; but the probability of finding one of those coins in a roll is literally less than 1 in a mans lifetime. So your telling me, that you had unsalted rolls, and in the past, say, 30 years, that You've found what?5! Riiiiight.
I swear PCGS has marked some normal coins as Double dyed. It’s really a stretch. And then you have big time double dyes not marked. I think they are an underhanded company and they have certain people they help with their grading and they don’t want competition from us little people.
I'd stay away from investing in coins with a minimum value below $200,as the grading company values listed are retail prices assigned by them, and in case of no straight grade..and if u want attribute consideration,u have to pay more and request it
I did pay for the attribution and still did not get it. That is the frustrating part. I triple checked and showed them to a dealer that sends in coins for attributions. He was very surprised that the Kennedy especially did not get the attribution.
My comment above agrees as well. ANACS with NGC s variety plus; then if you really like PCGS, cross that puppy. But I've never liked that snooty company.
Yes I did and they didn’t give it to me. I had three different people look at the coins and they agreed that they were the correct attributions. Guess we were all wrong
Sir that is a FINE 15. I am glad you paid 10 cents but you are paying like 35.00 to grade a coin that wholesales for 13.00. Same with the cc dime. You should really consider finding a reputable dealer and have him help you determine value and grade before spending money on these kind of items.
If you watch the video when I pulled that Barber from a roll you would know how excited I was. Honestly I submitted it to preserve the coin in a holder so nothing else could happen to it. It received a VF environmental damage details. I’m guessing it is the toning on the coin. Still it came back VF details. Which still puts it at a $200+ coin. Doesn’t really matter because unless some emergency of epic proportions happens, I’m not selling it. Not bad for a .50 pull out of a bank roll. Thanks for watching!
Anacs is cheaper but again why grade even 50.00 coins to know you a 50.00 coin? Save that money. No one would send a truly valuable coin anywhere but PCGS or NGC. Don't take my word for it ask someone you know and trust in your area. P.S. only buying and grading coins for 49 years:)
That's what happens when you think you have More than what's actually there! I know you spent $100's of bucks and then only one who came out ahead was PCGS!
