Began watching as a freshman in high school after my folks moved us to Texas. Every video was like weekend bucket list. I've been to Big Bend, Gruene Hall, countless diners (Bluebonnet Cafe was special!), listened to Doug Smith play 'West Texas' on piano, and been from one end of Texas to the other letting the land and people soak into my soul to the point where I could unabashedly say I'm a Texan. I'd not have any of those memories without y'all! My favorite videos are Central Texas Tools, Staff of Honor, and St. Augustine Catholic Church In fact, I'm going back to watch some more of your wonderful videos. You will be missed. God bless your work, yourselves, and the great state of Texas!

I was born in Anson, grew up in southeastern New Mexico and made several dips into and out of this great State before coming home to roost for good in 1987. About a year before that, I discovered TCR on a television station across the state line in Midland/Odessa…. It’s been wonderful beyond what words can convey to have had the pleasure to “hop in and take a ride” with Bob and then with Bob and Kelli for all these years. We will miss you but wish you all the best in your retirement. It will be like watching good friends move away. Peace, health, love and happiness to you both, my friends!

Thank you Bob. You’ve been doing this show for almost as long as I’ve been alive. I grew up in a farm in Waller county and our family used to watch Ron Stone and “The Eyes of Texas”. Then I remember seeing TCR while visiting friends in Waco and was hooked on TCR too. I thought how great Texas is to have two great reporters telling the world its history and stories. Well I live in DFW these days and have been a TCR fan for a long time. Thank you for helping us explore the state we love. I will miss your friendly voice and calming stories, but I’ve still got RU-vid to re-explore your decades of travels. And thanks for picking JB to take the keys. I’ve been a fan of his for several years. He will do a great job. But you will be missed. Come back and surprise us once in a while. Until then, best wishes, and job well done, sir!

I’ve been a long-time viewer of Texas Country Reporter and in doing so I discovered that everyone’s life is a book. I read once that “Your stories are unique, because nobody has seen the world through your eyes, and that we are all custodians of our personal history.” Regardless of what the cover looks like the story inside is well worth the time to get to know. It has been for me. My friends/family are a library I cherish, and I appreciate the stories being told with few exceptions. For those that I’ve crossed paths with at some point in my life, I believe it was at a time when that story was needed for my situation in life. I’ve shared stories of my kids, grandkids, military career, early life, at nauseum, and If I’m lucky I receive the same from some. Those stories are a treasure trove of individualism, it is what makes you unique and it guided who you would become. Each story is a fascinating account of the happenings around us from a different perspective. To be on the receiving end of those stories is an honor to this day. I continue connecting with new acquaintances, retelling my story and collecting theirs. My library has many volumes but will take a lifetime to fill. For that, and for the people I cross paths with every day I thank God. Thank You Bob and Kelli.

Well dang, that brought a tear to my eye. I used to watch TCR as a young pup about the time it started. I remember thinking how far it was to most of the places Bob showed me, and that I'd never be able to visit them . Now, at 61, I have visited many of them but not all and I am inspired to keep on the assignment. Thanks Bob and Kelli. We hope to see you on the road someday, so long for now. Cheers.

I grew up in Houston watching Ron Stone and The Eyes of Texas. We didn’t have cable tv so I didn’t find this show until much later in life. You all did a great job and enjoy your work. Have blessed retirement!!
